Just dropping in to say OH bought me a poinsettia because he saw it for 60p RTC and thought I'd like it because of being mad about Christmas things! I've removed a few knackered-looking leaves and given it a drink so hopefully it'll be happy.
I keep looking at it and going aww, and feeling excited about Christmas. Bless him.

Morning everyone, its bright sunny and cold here but at least i have a full freezer :rotfl:haha its always the way, if i wasnt prepared we would be snowed in, i have decided that i am going to concentrate on xmas stuff, cooking, baking etc and keep the house tidy then spend December deep cleaning the houseFreespirit oh nooooo. Hope you've had some luck looking for a tumble (shhhh I'm a tumble dryer queen too, but since we are obviously clones that's no surprise) Don't possess a washing line, can't bear pegging out etc yuk
I've added your latest makes to my bookmarked page of recipes, you are a bad, bad influence on meAre we working our way through a nigella book? Got the ingredients for the maple syrup cheese cake today so maybe tomorrow I can make it or possibly Wednesday
Now what do you do with the sausages when you've defrosted them? Reheat? And eat them with? Or have them in a buffet type meal? Need to get some lists on the go I feel
NANAMIA :rotfl:omg we are like peas in a pod, no i dont possess a washing line either, no luck on freegle or freecycle might have a look at ones in the next town see if they have any, the blooming washing is piling up and my towels still arent dry from yesterday, and they are hung all over the conservatory which is driving me nuts already, people look at me in disgust when i say i tumble everything :rotfl:but that is just how i roll! :rotfl::rotfl:haha yes i am going through Nigella Christmas, the muffins and sticky gingerbread i do every year but this year i fancied doing some new bits, isnt it funny how different recipes appeal to you at different times, hope the maple cheesecake goes well, yes the sausages are for a buffet, so take out of freezer defrost then tip sausages and glaze into baking tin and cook, i would never have done them before because of sweet chilli sauce being in it, but i bought some mild and mmm it tasted lovely.FeistyFidget wrote: »Well DH is in, but annoyingly he was admitted so late that no treatment was carried out - I'm struggling to get the shop covered and have sellers renting space from me (understandably) complaining about wonky opening hours - I'm basically working 3 full time jobs in one day (also snowed under with orders and nursing) and trying to visit DH and having to sort the dogs out solo (no mean feat for my fuss pots) I see a big black dog looming on the horizon
DH has a top cardiac consultant and a regular cardiac consultant responsible for his care and they are both off to a big cardiac conference in Scotland today, which means effectively DH is stranded in hospital until they come back
Oh FEISTY, right my lovely, you cannot please everybody so dont try, i can understand they arent happy but in the circumstances DH in hospital is unavoidable and they should have some understanding of this. This is what you and DH both wanted and now he is in, something has to be done so things are moving forward, you cannot do everything at once so deal with one thing at a time then move on to the next thing, DH is in the best place until they get back at least they can control the pain there for him. Now put your hob nail boots on and give that BD a big kick from me xxi loved the london photos whoever posted them. i feeling a little more christmassy now. weve been using the weekends to watch christmas films with my little boy.im still off sick from work after recovering from my arm operation and NOW i have sciatica in my back and legs. totally unconnected. cant beleive it. im on just over half pay so about 2/3 pay really from one job and no pay from the other so i really need to get back to work. i just am in so much pain and im bored too. i wanted to get back to work to do the christmas lunch ( im a cook) but thats in a couple of weeks and i cant see that i will be.so im reading lots of christmas magazines and watching telly. ive been to the docs and looking into it on the internet it seems the best thing for my back is to keep moving but the pain in my leg is so intense - how can i do that!! anyone had any experience of this??
Oh WUVVIES i have been thinking of you, how you are getting on, i dont know if it is the same but i have a trapped nerve in my back and it travels down my leg, i have had it since march, am on painkillers, but i still cant walk very far without it being painful, its driving me mad i have had enough, i dont know if it is sort of the same thing but you have my sympathies because it is very painful, it does seem to be getting better but how long does it take for a trapped nerve to become untrapped??? The sciatic nerve is b****y painful i know that, dont know if you have thought about acupuncture?
NIC that sounds a good plan, glad there is a kitty so you dont end up with most of the expense, hope you get all your signs done so you can have a lovely december with the littlies

Hello all,
Love the London pics OMO.
I've forgotten who asked about Christmas dinner menus (distracted by OMOs photos) but I'd go with soup as a starter.
If it just the two of us we just have the turkey and trimmings then Christmas pud (if we can manage it!) then cheese and biscuits for tea/supper.
It's nice to stick with family traditions but sometimes it's nice to create new ones too xxx0 -
Forgot to mention (I think, unless I've forgotten, lol) that I bought a spiral metal card display from Ikea. I also bought there 24 lovely little bags which I will peg onto the stand and put a treat in each bag. You get number stickers 1-24 to label the bags and can use them year after year.0
