Hooray. Figured out my avatar and signature! :T

Had some amazing news this morning. We've been pursuing a ppi claim for a couple of months. Received a letter in the post to say that once the credit company take their fees we'll be left with £4100! I currently am seeing £ signs whereas DH is being sensible and talking about paying off current debts. I know he is right but can't help wanting to spoil ourselves. We've really struggled over the past 12 months but things are finally coming together. DH has finally found permanent work and we've had this little bit of good news. 2013 is already a great year. :D

DH's new job is permanent nights, can't wait to have the telly to myself onces kiddies are in bed! :rotfl:
    Savings Account - £0.00 :(

    Weight Loss - 33lbs lost 9lbs to go :)

I also got 2 marmite egg cups for £2.40 that I thought I would save and use for a easter present, do you guys think that will be ok?

Well me and my boyfriend have just had a random convo!! He thinks that when we get married (not even engaged yet!!) we should wear traditional wedding stuff to get married and for the party wear everyday clothes as neither of us like to be dressed up and only a few people in the family like to be he says everyone will be more relaxed in everyday clothes etc!! What do you guys think?

Hah... this made mesmile kayandy. I reacted so badly when hubby said "Errmm.. I really don't want all that hype"
Have a read up on Humanist weddings. - Unofficial here in England so you still have to do the registrary office bit too. I had a white dress for that. BUT (check this for MSE :D) For my wedding (s) I had 2 wedding dresses, rented out a 13 cent friary for 24 hours. All our guests stayed over, partied all night drank on our bill, (Mackro there;) ) Caterers did a BBQ in the estate garden, band, decor. Just under £2000 EVERYONE loved how laid back and informal it was. They loved helping set it all up for us too. Photographer came up from London, professional man setting up, needed something "different" for his portfolio. I have some amazing images of my dd1 and my guests. (weight issues spoil mine ) I was 2 hours late for my own wedding how bad is that! Hairdresser to blame.
Best day of my life. No big debt as we bought what we needed as we found it. We wrote our own vows that meant important things to us. We wore what we wanted to. I found a teal prom gown that I had altered. He wore his fav suit. Made my own invites, table decs. Fairy lights and organza drapped over ancient oak beams look amazing to :D battery powered tea lights everywhere. The night was so romantic for everyone.
We are doing it all over again in a few years.
Weddings are a celebration of love. SO wear what you love ;) you will feel all the better on the day. Don't be sold a white wedding just because thats what everyone else does.Make it your day.

Fiesty I hope you find that Fitbit.. even though you believe it lost. I hate that sinking feeling, the kick-yourself-for-being-so i was just looking at getting one. I so want to kick SW into touch.

Erm, I think to be a goddess you have to rule and oversee a number of dynasties and dioceses...you can come and do my ironing if you like? ;)

Well I oversee the land of lounge, kingdom of kitchen & dynasty of dining...please can that count lol! I'm sure the novelty will wear off soon but this is certainly so much more fun than the last 22 years of working 6 days a week 48 weeks a year... At the moment anyway!
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.

Caitlyn DH and I married in a registry office with his brother and my BFF on a Monday lunchtime, I wore a pretty summer dress and DH just smart pants and a shirt cost us for the license I think around £12.50 and in August we will have been married 28 years. You can't get much simpler than that I've honestly never for one single second regretted doing it that way xxx

Sounds wonderful! And congratulations, 28 years, wow! You will have to share your wisdom on the long, happy marriage please!

We're trying to avoid a lot of the tradition having lost my dad, and bringing my mum would really only upset and confuse her so she won't be there either. Sister will be there though. I keep sorting out tiny little details (like little gifts for the flower girls) and then remembering I still need to get a dress! I keep having nightmares that I forget and forget and eventually it's my wedding day and I have nothing to wear!

Of course! (Assuming you know someone who actually appreciates the stuff *vomit!* I'm definitely in the HATE category for Marmite!!)

PS Nanamia - I would happily do your packing. I do love to pack! I like to start with something like this http://upl.codeq.info/ (also love list-making!) and then customise as needed.

Unpacking at the end of a holiday however...that can be someone else's job! Blurgh!

    Hi all
Love catching up on all your news.

I tend to not be very good at making decisions, as i have been putting of inviting people back for return dinner eves, as i can never decide on a menu, that i think will be impressive enough without slaving for hours. (my time management skills are rubbish) and will panicing that the house has to be spotless. One couple had us for dinner over a year ago, and we have never returned the favour (although we do see them). I have now taken the plunge and decided this is the year i am going to get on with entertaining, so 1st invite organised for next Sat:eek: Oh what to cook! another 3 to arrange, then i will be on track with returns (if menu one goes well, might just stick to that) lol.
Omo Congratulations on the arrival of your Grandson, what alovely lady you sound .
Hanley Congratulations on your windfall, very glad 2013 has started out so well for you, may it continue!
Feisty Fidget, i too am gutted you have lost your fitbit, might it be covered on your house insurance for a replacement?
