Fiesty - I am sure this a really hard time for you, but think you are doing this for the best.
My mum is a manager of a care home and some of them can be a really good place for them to live,
I know they dont all get the best rep but some are really lovely. The most upsetting bit for her
is when family dont visit or help, so I am sure you visiting, helping clear the house, is a
really big help for your nan and for everyone else!!

Caitlyn22 - hope your cold goes away soon, sometimes the stress of things can bring a cold out,
you need some rest! I hope you sister has speedy recovery.

Just home from a night at work. Really need to sit down and asses my current job situation,
I am also going to do a budget tomorrow and see what I can save, I am really hoping to buy my flat
that I am currently renting at the moment, any advice would be really appreciated. Would be
so lovely to be able to say, christmas will be at MY house this year, and it really be mine!

Aaw feisty what a day you've had. Im really sorry:( I hoe your new replacement gadget is now on order:) xxx
Lovelies please look after yourselves, way too many accidents today!

Caitlyn I lovvvveeed that link, re packing I've modified it a little and now got a new list :) thank you so much. It would however help if I had enough cases! My darling neighbour who has sorted our travel arrangements has sorted for me to take an extra case one way (will need it for DGDs orange themed presents) so we can have three cases in the hold and cabin luggage. BFF is double checking to see if she has one in the morning so that's a start otherwise will have to resort to plan B - don't quite know what that is yet tho. And because we don't know when we are coming back what to do with the house??? I will make a start in the morning taking decorations down and see how we go.xxx
    The secret of Christmas
It's not the things you do at Christmastime
But the Christmas things you do
    All year through

    Great news Hanley! :j

Sounds wonderful! And congratulations, 28 years, wow! You will have to share your wisdom on the long, happy marriage please!

We're trying to avoid a lot of the tradition having lost my dad, and bringing my mum would really only upset and confuse her so she won't be there either. Sister will be there though. I keep sorting out tiny little details (like little gifts for the flower girls) and then remembering I still need to get a dress! I keep having nightmares that I forget and forget and eventually it's my wedding day and I have nothing to wear!

Of course! (Assuming you know someone who actually appreciates the stuff *vomit!* I'm definitely in the HATE category for Marmite!!)

I am in the hate category too, but it just the egg cups of a marmite jar, no marmite to be consumed!!

So you should have been in my kitchen 2 nights ago when I was making kedgeree. Seems like I can't count and was over tired because why else would I add in enough tumeric to feed all of India and just about that much water too :rotfl:.

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Tee hee - sounds like the first pot of soup I made as a new bride. I added rice but the amount on the recipe seemed so little I added what I thought was more reasonable. When hubby came home the soup pot was on the back doorstep with an upright fork in the [STRIKE]cement[/STRIKE] soup mixture. Neither the fork nor the soup could be freed from the pot and the whole thing had to go in the bin. I may be a cordon bleu cook now but he does like to remind me when I'm getting a bit out of hand:o

Question for you inventive people - I'm currently by the sea and have a dreadful habit of gathering shells. It's a bit of an addiction and I now have a beautiful apothecary jar full back home so really don't need any more. I did think though I could gather some and make a shell picture in this kind of style. What do you think? Is it a really naff idea or worth keeping gathering my treasures?

You are taking something you like and creatively producing a piece of artwork from it......why on earth would it be naff? I think it sounds like a lovely idea :D:T

I am browsing trying to find a new 6ft prelit Christmas tree in the sale - ours gave up just after Christmas, it had served its time though :)

Argos had some reduced from £80 to £20 but surprise surprise - none in stock in our nearest 10 stores

I think that is beautiful! Add a box frame and matching coloured shells and I think you would havevn etsy store on your hands ;) people would love the fact that they have been hand gathered! Would make beautiful gifts too :)

Have a lazy day with DH planned, last one before I'm properly back to work. Where has the time gone?!?

scottishminnie, I think that's a lovely idea, it's nice to use the things you find. I've also seen someone who presses shells and sea glass into clay in a hert shape. Then uses them as door hangers or wind chimes. I'll see of I can find a pic.

Has anyone moved recently? Can you remember when you defrosted your freezer and left it switched off ready to move? We are going to eat all the stuff this week.
We move a week tomorrow

Trying to figure out what we need to keep out til the last day. We need so much more with having the kids. I'm sure I'll get there x

We live on the coast, you may have just inspired me to start walking the dogs near the beach to gather supplies ;)

I vow to complete my knitted gift today! It's shockingly a year since I started
