Thank you Freespirit and Peppapig, your all so kind it's good to be able to come here and take time out from life's problems.
Omo I'm so minimalistic I don't even do photos and ornaments.
I also don't have a Xmas tree I have what the children(grown up)
call a gold tree which has sequins and fibre optic lights, well I like it!
Congratulations on the job Aliaslotte

The school I taught the lesson at just called. I've made it through to the next stage so have an interview next week. Yay! They said they were impressed with the lesson and it was "really good". As I haven't planned or taught a lesson in over 12 months, I am amazed lol. In shock pretty much.
Today is a very good day.0 -

I made the peanut butter chocs so that is another thing away in freezer, might make my mince pies tomorrow, need to focus on something to stop me panicking about going to DS graduation on fridayWatched two Christmas films today (one on True Movies and one on Christmas 24). Half the front room is filled with pressie in various states of wrapping - front half looks like November, back half looks like December 24th. Off to Bingo tonight with DD1 and my sister - free books, bubbly and chocs courtesy of a birthday voucher. Haven't been for ages - I get so nervous in case I win and don't call out properly that if I get anywhere near only wanting one number I almost have palpitations. I've always had this horror that I might call out when I haven't won and I'd be mortified.:o Enjoy the rest of the day everyone.:D
Good Luck for tonights Bingo PEPPAPIG hope you have a great time, i have only ever been once about 20 years ago must have had beginners luck because i won, BUT i shouted out because i had seen the number come up on the screen not knowing that it actually has to be spoken before you can shout, I WAS MORTIFIED  i had to wait for him to then call the number and shout again :rotfl:and this is from someone who detests being centre of attention, mind you for all the embarrassment i won £200aliaslotte wrote: »I had two job interviews today. The second including teaching a lesson [with year 6 - never taught year 6 before], though I came out of that feeling really happy. The second job has a split interview process - the head said she would be in touch tonight to say if I had the panel interview or not, which would be next week. However, the interview this morning was more straight forward - and they called tonight to say they are offering me the job, subject to references. Yay! Already chased up the people doing my references, so hopefully that will be absolutely fine and I'll finally have a job again [and a job I really want too]. Yay!
Congratulations ALIASLOTTE that is fab news well done youThank you Freespirit and Peppapig, your all so kind it's good to be able to come here and take time out from life's problems.

Thanks for the kind words about DS, I got this today after his comment to the doctor. Something else for the stocking http://www.poundland.co.uk/christmas/christmas-presents/stocking-fillers-for-kids/ring-for-xmas-bell0

Feisty.. I love, love, love your shop & have 'liked' it on FB. Unfortunately, like Peppapig, twitter has also completely bypassed myself too.
I particularly like the cereal containers & would really like to purchase some at the end of the month.. do you send through the post or can you buy in your shop only?
So it's 3 for 2 at the moment on toys in Argos & thanks to this I AM OFFICAILLY FININSHED on the toy front :T:T All wrapped, name tagged & hidden away.
Just teenage DS left to buy for now (3/4 main gifts + money + stocking), OH & a few close family & friends. I decided today to make OH a poker night hamper because we really enjoyed it recently at a friends wedding during the after ceremony/before evening do interval. A few days ago Robert Dyas had a card shuffler advertised in it's window for £1 & Argos have poker sets reduced at the moment. If I can find a bottle of Jack Daniels Whisky on offer (which is his favourite tipple but very rarely drinks it because of the expense) then the hamper will be complete ... although I'm sure you could all help me with ideas as to what else I could add!
Well done OMO on the Only Fools & Horses boxset. That is my most favourite programme of all time. I could watch them on repeat, back to back, endlessly & not get board. In fact we did exactly that 2 Christmas' ago when Gold showed them all day Christmas day & Boxing Day... one of my favourite Christmas memories.... we still sit & watch them on a Sunday afternoon whilst eating our roast if it's on. I'm sure we must have watched ~EVERY~ episode but still I manage to find one we skipped!
Still to do.. find a chocolate log recipe as no one likes Christmas cake apart from me & DS, Start deep clean & sort out of house & make notes of how to decorate each room.
Hope you all have a lovely warm, cosy evening

Sorry, before I go I thought of (what I think to be) a brilliant idea for stocking fillers for those struggling with gift ideas for teenager's... BATTERIES! It seems my lot can not get enough of them, removing them from Sky remotes to play the Wii or for Xbox controllers!
Going to pop some decent AAs & AAAs into each of theirs.0 -
Hi everyone,
I do read this thread daily , love it. Really excited now we got bonfire night over - it's the count down to xmas. Went into town this morning to do the £ shops, all three of them..Had to hide stuff as best as I could from my LO.
Got a bag of stickle bricks for 99p, a mug that had crayons and paper so my LO can colour and put it in the mug £1. Started my dads hamper with a xmas jute bag , cd and tea bags all £1 each. Pleased with that.
Nearly finished my shopping treats , got my Aldi black forest stollen, but I need to buy choc coins that are nut free and a cake (doesn't have to be fruit). Any ideas on where I can buy them from.
