Keep an eye on gumtree, there was a woman that was trying to sell a brand new (unwanted gift) silhouette cameo with a travel bag for just £200 - most will agree to post if you pay extra - I have easily made that money back in commissions and I haven't even opened my store yet
Need some desperate helpsome of the only gifts I need to buy are the most difficult. The person that made the snide comment about not being able to buy a decent gift for under £10 has two younger boys (6 and 10) I need to get them some toys on the cheap. They like lego and wrestling - neither are afraid of telling you straight when they dislike a gift (I have had demands to take them back for alternative gifts before
) Does anyone know of some shops/sites that have a big discount on toys? I refuse to pay out for something that isn't really going to be appreciated, but at the same time don't want to be accused of being cheap etc
Sorry about that turned into a bit of a rant but if my kids were like that they wouldn;t be having anything.SPC4 #1395 Aug 11 £135.75/£150

Hi, I followed you guys up to Christmas on the old thread and thought it was great, anyway, I was in sainsburys earlier and they had mincemeat jars for 10p with a best before of 2014. They also had christmas cake decorations for 8p. Well when I saw it I obviously bought some and immediately thought of your thread.
I hope this helps someone

The orange/pink speech bubble under a post is your friend there - click that on the posts you want to quote then click 'Post Reply' at the end of the thread and your posts are ready to quoteI think it only lets you select 3 posts at a time though...

Thank you all for your input
mumof3plusoh - I couldn't agree more - they don't seem to have very good manners. Elder one even told me he wanted my baby dead when I fell pregnant....but that's another story.2024 Challenges

Hello Jo Jo P and thanks for the Sainsburys lead.
I have acquired another Grandson :rotfl:
Ddils nephew (3) told me today in all seriousness, while shaking his head, that he didn't have a Mimi at least 5 times today.
So I asked him if he would like me to be his Mimi, and he said 'Yes' :rotfl:
Have added him to Xmas list, bought boy next door, some Xmas art bits in Tescos (half price) and some crayons. And have moved the Jake art set over to new grandson.
 Asked my Dad if there was anything in his CHEESE hamper he wasn't keen on, and he replied the CHEESE.
Says its not good for him. He gave it to his best friend to eat.
So have got to rethink his present. Can't do a hamper themed round cheese, with no cheese in it.
I don't know why I expected anything different . It just Vodkagate all over again.:D
May have a look in the Boots sale for half price socks :rotfl:0 -
FeistyFidget you could buy WWE Rumblers Blastin' Breakdown Playset or Oxfam Unwrapped School Supplies & Children's GroBox between them, saving £5 on the WWE gift. Sorry for my evil side kicking in, but I'd love to be a fly on the wall when they ask you to take the charity gift back"We have to be kind because everyone is fighting a great, great battle" - Sir Richard Attenborough

Cool, brilliant. You are sending me off on my weekend away in London very happy. In the mean time to give you something to chew on - it obviously has to be food related, and could be things like easy valentines day foodie gifts to make at home (are you going to make any on your facebook page anyway?), or fun/ creative / normal valentines day recipes etc. Just so you know as much as I love red velvet cupcakes I refuse to feature them as a valentine’s day recipe. Everybody else does that.
Length wise between 300-500 words.
You would have to take about 4-5 picture of the finished item(s) so we can decide which is the best one to use. (if you are doing anything that has some crafty bits you might need to take some step by step pictures?)
Maybe we can also throw that question out to the forum as people here are soooooo creative? What sort of things would you all like to see food wise for valentines day? Anyone here who has checked both our sites please can you come up with some fun ideas for a guest post by OMO...................
I will think some more as well
Cheers and v excited :j…..0
