    Xmas Saver!
    edited 23 October 2013 at 10:41PM
I may have already started working on stags in the wood, infact I'm thinking of doing a multi layered on with maybe two or three colours. And yes, I am offering white frames ;)

White on white fine for me. :D ( I don't mind light grey)

    God I'm dull :o

I have found an app calls Houzz. It's like Pinterest but all about rooms

    Do not get it !!!!

    A - it's American
    B- their houses are massive
C- it makes your house feel tiny
D- you can lose hours of your life on it.

Evening everyone, hope you're all well, just a quick one before bed for me.

ALJA - Ooh I want Christmas At The Cupcake Cafe, I've read the normal Cupcake Cafe book and enjoyed it. Let me know if it's good?

Feisty - tbh I'd not pay that, but then I'm poor haha. I agree people online are often just looking to get things super-cheap and it might do better in your shop, there are definitely people round here who'd buy things like that. I love the curly hills, they struck me as very Nightmare Before Christmas style, and I actually prefer it not lit up with the black background, is there any way you could reduce your costs or maybe do a non-light-up cheaper version?

OMO - I meant to say, your room with pictures above the sofa looked really good in the photos.

Nanamia - Hurray, the end is in sight! Hope you can get it all finished soon then you can enjoy your lovely new living room. I've no idea how you manage to reply individually to so many people like you always do either, it's so thoughtful and nice of you to make such an effort like that.

Well I needn't have worried anyway. The Thing From America turned up fine, and then the Thing From Ebay arrived really quickly and is just right! Surprised I managed to get both within budget, plus some left to get him some little bits, as we don't spend a lot. I'm quite excited to see OH open them now. The Ebay Thing was in an empty cereal bar box to package it for the post, and I'm going to leave it in there when I wrap it so he'll think I've bought him cereal bars :D

Only thing now is Operation Prevent OH Even Thinking About These Things Let Alone Buying Them For Himself. Does anyone else's gift-recipients do that? Infuriating, isn't it?

(They're called the Things because I'm a bit paranoid he'll look over my shoulder and see what they are if I say :o).

I get put on a shopping ban for about two months before Christmas. If there's something I REALLY want to buy for myself, I check with DH. If I get a sigh and 'the look' then I know not to buy.

Hubby was looking at Iron Man 3 on amazon the other day. I've already bought it for his birthday next month. I reminded him he's got a birthday AND Christmas coming, so maybe he could wait. Blooming men!

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A
  • Feisty - I think they're lovely and I do feel for your dilemma.
I used to craft and sell doll house miniatures. I'd get all kinds of potential commission enquiries and when I told them a price they didn't commit. However I saw and still see other people offering things at a price which some people would be not prepared to pay but the items sell.

All hand crafted items are expensive but a lot of people are so used to the far east mass produced tat that a lovingly crafted product isn't appreciated. But there are also people out there that appreciate the skill involved.

I was once told 'don't sell yourself too cheap'. If you think they are worth the price you charge then they are worth that. It's something it took me a while to get used to because I didn't appreciate the skills I have.

Oh my gosh I've not been in here for so lonh. Life and that. I bought my oh some aftershave and that's it. My local b&m has great stuff in so no doubt I'll be frequently going there.

Thomas had an operation on Tuesday so that was stressful. Lots of appointments coming up and he has a cast on for 4 weeks but he ever should be fine by Christmas.

    Love the hamper :)

Quick question, I know a few of you lovely people decorate wooden plaques shapes etc, I'd like to do a little something for DGD2s bedroom, would you use acrylic paint, gently sand and then varnish? It's all new to me xxx

Well in the crazy Nana house things are on the up :) woo hoo. At last, finally the last few bits to be done will be done over the next few days. Got a mishmash of cushions today and some lime curtains, also got the hold back things for the curtains so think the buying is all done. Fingers toes and everything else crossed that the little dining table and chairs arrives tomorrow as promised and then I can take a few snaps and stop going on about it xxx

Alja if I don't 'bump' into you before you go have a great time xxx

Freespirit how you doing my lovely :) Thinking of you and sending hugs xxx
