Thank you Ruth-Honey, it was me looking for fluffy socks, those do sounds like just the ones I'm after :)

I wish I'd taken a pic of them now-sorry! They were in Stratford Westfield primark. If you struggle to find them locally, I can pop back and buy them if you are ok to pay for postage. I'm sure all branches will sell them, though.

You little elves have been very busy!

I am after some advice from those that are as in love with Christmas as I am. I've made a Christmas motif luminary and the feedback on Facebook was great, until I told them a price. The materials alone cost just over £10 and they take almost 2 hours to make. Is £18.50 too much?

  • Evening :)

had a productive day so relaxing with a hot choc :) Managed to pack a few presents today and popped to Sainsburys but forgot to look at the toys :-0. Did get some food bargains, a stew pack for 50p and some jars of doritoes salsa dip for 25p each.

I think it looks fantastic! Not seen anything like it before. I think what you want to charge is reasonable. People want mega discounts these days, but for something hand made, I think the price is fair. Hope you sell loads of them!

Aww, thank you, that's so kind of you. I'll check it out in my local and going to a different town over the weekend, so will check there too, and fingers crossed I'll find them. Thanks again :)

Feisty- please don't take this the wrong way but I would personally struggle to justify spending £18.50 on these- even though they are very beautiful You are a very talented artist(and obviously know your client base's budgets) but I still think that is a lot of money. Its just my opinion (and I feel awful for making what may seem as a criticism-but its not intended that way x).
    lovin' this site!

ALJA Harrods opened their Christmas shop in August. I don't want to burst the bubble, but don't get too excited. It is only one room this year, not 2 like before. I asked if they had more stuff coming, but was told they had exactly the same amount of products as previous years. They have just only put a few of each out, instead of the loads they used to. It is still lovely, but didn't have the woah factor it used to have.

Oh that's a shame! Bit silly of them really isn't it! I will try my best to get some piccies for you all, unless they have guards that run after you for doing that in their laaa de daaa store!? I'll have to do my best "I'm just texting someone" stance... :rotfl:

I decided to put some items for sale in local groups on faceb*ok this evening to help bring some £££s back in after all this Christmas spending. Didn't expect to have much luck, but within a few minutes of uploading something I seemed to have sold it!? woohoo! That's £5 in the Christmas kitty :)

Going to have a look to see what else I can get rid of now. Then I shall compile a list for Friday's Christmas shopping. I like to plan ahead and know exactly where to go for what - so I will plan that this evening, go there Friday morning, run round like a headless chicken as fast as I can grabbing everything and then get out of there!

Oh, and I'm planning to go undercover with my sunnies on as I don't want to bump into a certain horrible lady that wasn't very nice towards me at the beginning of the year. Long story! She went a bit odd towards a few people I know and I often seem to bump into people I know up there. So sunnies on, list in hand and skates on (well not literally, but, you know...)

Anyways, excuse my waffle! Going to start reading Jenny Colgan, Christmas at the Cupcake Cafe this evening... :)

    Feistyi agree with murie.

They would sell for that price in John Lewis but people on Facebook expect it to be cheaper elsewere.
And to honest you would only be making £4 an hour. Is it worth it ?

ETA I see they are selling :D
