Chrissy I've bought some of that insulation stuff for behind the radiators too, living room radiator is still off so that's a doddle but was it tricky to do whilst they are fixed to the wall? X

Its easy just a bit awkward as it just slips behind the radiator.

ive no one to buy this for but how cute is it !

  • Well, I have started on the kitchen clear out, box of utensils filling nicely for local charity, also found stuff which would be better going to charity shop, so another "pile" growing there. It's great being under this pressure, means I am multitasking as only we females can, clearing, cleaning shelves, getting rid of "old" food if opened, if unopened, it is staying (used chopped tomatoes at the weekend, with bbd of Sept 12, still here!) and mentally composing a list of what I need to get, will empty freezer of anything "cheap" taking up space, eg individual bagels, I buy them at Costco, so are cheap to replace once I have put proper food in it.

On the Christmas front, bought paper and cards yesterday so will try and wrap and list what I have done over the weekend, although I have volunteered to help a friend with a scout event on Sunday, no idea what is involved, but the relief in her voice when I offered was palpable (she didn't want to ask me), she knows that I will just whatever needs to be done, without being puppywalked and grief. Plus the fact I will hopefully get to have fun with her grandsons, we are taking the middle one to panto in Dec, so there is an element of selfishness on my part.

Got to make more cakes this weekend also, am so far behind on this, only going to be 7" & 8" and undecorated, I have no patience for decorating, possibly because I don't like it to eat, but they can be left until well into 2014 and eaten when there is nothing else in the house. Made 9 last year and had 1 slice out of the lot!

Currently assembling a manflu hamper, got parecetamol, throat lozenges, lemsip, hot chocolate, bought a soup mug in £1land, so now have to get some cuppa soup, dvd and a fleecy blanket, hopefully will get the whole lot under £10.

Reminds me of my nephews first Christmas in Ireland, he was so excited at seeing me (they had moved home in the October, so bless him, that was his first time seeing me for a couple of months), he wet himself, he was out of nappies but still having the odd accident. He was distraught, and crying his eyes out and saying "my wee was in a hurry!":rotfl:

ChrissyG those nightlights are lovely :)
Gettingthere the manflu hamper made me chuckle ;)

Nanamia, I have been pretty lazy the past couple of days- as much as I can with a toddler anyway. My mum is here atm so I can have a relax in the bath for a bit :)
I showed the pic of the reindeer slippers to DS this morning and said can I have these for my birthday? He said, "Course you can Mummy" <3 So I shall remind him to pester Daddy. I like having him repeat messages anyway as its good for his speech. (Not that his speech is a problem- its very good for his age- practice makes perfect tho)
My mum asked him what he wanted Father Christmas to bring him the other day and he said "A Lion!"
Mum was a bit stunned and said "But a Lion would eat us all up"
He looked back at her like she was crazy and said "No Nanny, don't be silly, just a toy lion with a button on it that goes Raaaar!"
Where he's got that idea from I don't know haha xx

Hope you'll show us some pics of your living room when its finished, before and after Chrisymas decs go up :)

Freespirit sorry my sister from another mister, didn't mean to worry you, just been up to my rolly eyes in it! Yesterday managed to do all the little jobs left in the living room, touching up where the merry band of helpers had caught my emulsion, then removing paint from the window frames and light fitting, fiddly little things but done now. Blinds were fitted this morning, front of house vertical white blinds, back Venetian white glossy boring but I love them. Have fought against them for years now cos everybody locally has them but grown to love them. I'd prefer bare windows but no chance with DH (grump) They are bright and let a lot of light in although people can't see in. Wallpaper is also here DH picked it up today :) love it even more in real life :) Electrics done. One door to be hung - Saturday at 10 fingers crossed nothing goes wrong there. Wallpaper up when DH is has recovered from his fishing trip (trip Saturday but will take him a few days to recover) Finally all coming together. Still need rug, curtains and cushions the saga continues!
Woo hoo DS filming a BMW commercial wow he'll love that and Fingerscrossed he'll get more work from it. Are BMW going him a sample to try? Wouldn't that be nice :) Hopefully he'll get good news from his interviews too then he can have choices. How is your pain now with the new meds? Have things settled? No migraine this week? And tummy better? Blooming hek I'm sooooo nosey! xxx

Oh glad you are ok :) you have been busy, your LR will be back together in no time, who does the wallpapering in your house? I am with your DH on the blinds thing :) i cant stand people being able to see me and have wooden venetians at every window :rotfl:im so not a sociable person haha. DS did really enjoy it and said it went really well he is back at old uni editing it (i dont think he will ever be able to tear himself away from town where he went to uni) so i havent seen him, no, no sample but cant complain, DD1 works for them and gets a brand new BMW every 9 months to drive around in, family are insured too so i drive it as well, so we are very lucky, she can choose model, colour, extras, the lot, so they are a very generous company to work for :) He is still waiting to hear from jobs :( Yep no migraines this week :) pains on and off really but now im on sofa under my duvet drinking lemsip (im sure im a hypochondriac) :rotfl:DD1 has had this for over a week so very generously passed her germs on to me.
