!oh and i have ruined my rolling pin trying to bang a too big nail in the wall :rotfl [/QUOTE

This made me :rotfl: reminded me of my brother. Growing up it was me, Mum, my brother and 2 sisters so he was the only boy. When I first got with DH my mum asked him to fix something so he went outside to get his tool box. My brother who was about 18 at the time looked at DH and in all seriousness said "What do you need that for? We've got knives in the drawer for screwdrivers and high heels if you need a hammer!" :rotfl:

*waves quick hello* Jsut getting ready for work - things much better this weekend thanks, worked with same colleague yesdterdaya dn all was fine :) she was actually very sweet to me and I do know that under the exterior there is a very big heart

Freespirit ive got everything cvrossed for your DH and DS for the interviews, intrigued by the filming!

thanks for the heads up re the tinned sweets, am sitting on my hands as we have a Mr M walking distance and ive got Heroes and Celebrations already ... must stoppppp!! Im not buying so many tins this year as always end up buying about 6 and always 6 half tins left at easter lol!

Worst of the 2 cats is at vets first thing tomorrow for booster, will have to take her in the carrier on the school run as no way to get home and then back again throught he traffic by 9am and have to leave for work at 10! I hate seeing her so distressed and lashing out, am sure its due to the massive needle used to put their microchips in, they both screamed the place down and seem terrified of their booster jabs now, shes so sweet with me at home and so loving, yet really lashes out at the vet as shes so scared :(

Anywaaaaay! Got 2 C'bury advent calendars at mr S, offer is £2 but 2 for £3, also they have the Mars red grab box which was £3 is not 2.50 (Maltesters, Milky Way stars, Twixes etc) but the lovliest thing I found was a Christmas tin of biscuits, its a traditional fireplace with stockings and then the Fairisle pattern around the sides of the tin, so Christmassy and its the type of biscuits you get in the Family Circle boxes so know they will get eaten, will try and find a link, but its so lovely I need to show you all!

Still catching up so somebody else may have already offered a suggestion, but our vet once said that if the cat is stressed, try covering their eyes. It's like a kids thought process-if you can't see it, it's not there. Worth a try? Our cat had the microchip when she was spayed so didn't see the needle, thank goodness. She still hates the vets though and cries the whole way(only 5 minute walk to the top of the road).

In Christmas news, I popped to Twinings today and was smelling teas trying to find Christmassy ones. There's an orange & cinnamon one which smelt like Christmas and the lovely lady gave me 2 samples to try. She also said its lovely blended with hot chocolate. Told me to come back at the end of the month for Christmas teas/chocolate and recipe cards. Great service in there-would recommend a visit if anyone is in London (on the Strand, so very central).

"So proud of youngest son, today he took part as a tour guide for a local victorian mansion, he had to learn his lines and it contained lots of tricky words. He had to speak in front of lots of people. I couldnt be there as was teaching, however reports back said he was amazing. This is the child who has severe dyslexia and mears irlen which means he has problems reading and retaining information and who in June moved schools due to his self esteem being rock bottom.
    Proud mummy moment

My daughter was diagnosed T1 3 years ago at the end of this month (strange as I now know a lot of people diagnosed in October????)anyway, she eats what and when she wants, within reason and she is soooo looking forward to her reindeer hot chocolate, snowman soup, advent calendar, Christmas cake, thorntons santa and whatever else the season brings, (not forgetting Halloween ) bit of extra work for me and a few more tests than normal but it's Christmas and the big D doesn't rule in our house :)

Thank you for this, it's really reassuring to hear from someone who knows all about it and great to know that your daughter is doing so well! I don't know any diabetics (T1 or T2) so it can be quite isolating and difficult for people to understand! I know people mean well when they skip me when they're offering around biscuits or any other nice little treats but there are only so many times you can say 'I can eat almost anything as long as I inject for it!'

Thankfully I'm more than happy with the 'everything in moderation' rule, even in the middle of all the festive excess :)

Love the Christmas photo holder! Looked on BHS website to see price-£8, but OOS at the moment. :(

Pixtotts-come to London for a visit! Christmas lights will be turned on in a few weeks, I expect. Saw a sneak peek of them in the paper today. By November it'll probably feel quite festive. Southbank has a nice Christmas market to visit. Mulled wine and yummy food while you wander round...you know you want to...
