Hey folks hope you're all ok. Sorry I've been MIA, it's been a hectic few days! Was hoping to get things done yesterday after church but totally forgot about my godsons 6th birthday disco! Literally had an hour between getting home from church and Sunday dinner at the in laws to going back out to the party then when me and the kids got back the house was in complete disarray as DH was fitting the new boiler. He finally got it up and running at 7:30pm so by the time the kids were bathed and in bed it was time for bed myself. Got another busy week this week as I'm working 4 days as we need the money and work are struggling to give me enough hours as I'm not very flexible due to childcare so when they come up I grab them even though it means working 8-12pm tonight then back in at 9:30 tomorrow morning :(

Xmas wise I have sorted the cards and wrap situation but I still need to finish the rest of last weeks tasks so I will continue with those. Feeling abit stressed and unorganised so not expecting to get much done this week. Only working 2 days next week so am hoping to make more progress then.

Love, hugs and good wishes to all Xxxx

    Hi all :)

This is my second post on this thread but I love reading through the pages :). Just wanted to ask what snowman soup and Reindeer food is ? :o.

I managed to go to town last week, picked up my wrapping paper in the £ shops but saw today Asda are selling 10 meters for £1 so that was a better deal (just couldn't wait!).

Got a couple of things on Amazon for my little girl, also looking out for places that I can get stocking fillers . Picked up the Boots catalogue, also a big bag of kettle chips for £1 with a long date on to put away, been stocking up on the 50p biscuits (jammy dodgers etc) in asda to.

Waiting to pick up a stollen when they come into Aldi and their mince pies/ Lidl vegan ones. Noticed they had turkey in the trays? for about 2.99 so might give that a try. always have chicken for the big day :)

Keeping up with you guys does take hell of a lot of work :P but I love it :D I feel I'm online too much for most other threads :(

Bargain Bunny wow £1 for 10m that is really good definitely going to have to go have a look.. We order most of ours from Webb Ivory (little sisters a young leader at guides) but that was £3 or £6 for 10m and I thought they were usually good :o!

Sorry if I'm repeating myself but I don't think I had time to finish the other day and deleted it :/... I know we all know Primark have their Christmas jumpers in but what I thought could be handy to know is that the ladies are quite generous in sizes (weirdly for primark!), we got 2 other day spent ages looking for L but they didn't have them in any of the designs lil sis liked (typical!) I convinced her to try M anyway and it fit her fine (size 18 or primark 20) :)

also... hoping one of you Christmas fairies can help... I'm going to apologise now for what is probably a useless and not very helpful description but I'm looking for anything kind of similar really :D
....My old uni housemate used to make these biscuits which were so christmassy and lovely they were kind of spiced, but not cinnamony (hate cinnamon :/) and light on ginger (mum liked them and she's not a fan of ginger)... I know the recipe was from a "childrens first cook book" type book (usborne one I think) but we're talking a 20 year old book...
Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for anything remotely like that?

    x
I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

Could be (forgive my spelling??) Lebkuchen. Traditional German biscuits for Christmas time. They are a bit like gingerbread but less ginger. Lidl sell bags of them with their other Christmassy stuff. Might be worth a try.

    The secret of Christmas
It's not the things you do at Christmastime
But the Christmas things you do
    All year through

Loubylou how organised you are. Did you get wrapped and hidden in time before your little darlings returned? X

Yes I've now bought and wrapped all of DS1's pressies :j Few more to buy for DS2 plus his birthday is the 21st so that's to be sorted out. But I feel I achieved something which is a rare feeling for me :o

I'm going to attempt making the chocolate sleighs this year for teachers and nursery staff etc... I've started collecting supplies. Does anyone know how much the Lindt santas usually sell for? I've seen 5 for £1.99 today but not sure if I should hold out for special offers??

Lidl do the mini santas, think there are around 7 per bag for approx 1.49 I recall.
I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

*waves quick hello* Jsut getting ready for work - things much better this weekend thanks, worked with same colleague yesdterdaya dn all was fine :) she was actually very sweet to me and I do know that under the exterior there is a very big heart

Freespirit ive got everything cvrossed for your DH and DS for the interviews, intrigued by the filming!

thanks for the heads up re the tinned sweets, am sitting on my hands as we have a Mr M walking distance and ive got Heroes and Celebrations already ... must stoppppp!! Im not buying so many tins this year as always end up buying about 6 and always 6 half tins left at easter lol!

Worst of the 2 cats is at vets first thing tomorrow for booster, will have to take her in the carrier on the school run as no way to get home and then back again throught he traffic by 9am and have to leave for work at 10! I hate seeing her so distressed and lashing out, am sure its due to the massive needle used to put their microchips in, they both screamed the place down and seem terrified of their booster jabs now, shes so sweet with me at home and so loving, yet really lashes out at the vet as shes so scared :(

Anywaaaaay! Got 2 C'bury advent calendars at mr S, offer is £2 but 2 for £3, also they have the Mars red grab box which was £3 is not 2.50 (Maltesters, Milky Way stars, Twixes etc) but the lovliest thing I found was a Christmas tin of biscuits, its a traditional fireplace with stockings and then the Fairisle pattern around the sides of the tin, so Christmassy and its the type of biscuits you get in the Family Circle boxes so know they will get eaten, will try and find a link, but its so lovely I need to show you all!
