murie your not shallow I think its totally normal to feel how you do hopefully it won't be as bad as you fear.my dad is almost deaf in 1 ear and his hearing aid is one of those tiny ones that you can't see unless you look
aliaslottesorry about your job goodluck with finding another

omo my task for this wk are thanks
get 10 items for store cupboard (think this will stay a wkly task)
get bottle gift bags & 4 personalised cards
    wrap the presents that arrive
pick up 2 choc advent calenders
sort through the 1001 photos taken this yr and decide which ones to use for xmas gifts
    get cinema gift card

I have a few skylanders swapforce characters to get but waiting on release and not sure how much its gonna cost either as no pre orders. have seen the battle pack/adventure pack for around £20 but no individual characters guessing around £8-£12 for the little ones and £15-£20 for the swapable ones.
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk

  • Hi all, we're now back from Scotland so I thought i'd check in with you all. We had a fantastic week, I do love Scotland. My dad did our family tree a year ago and found out that my maternal grandmothers line is traced back to a clan in the highlands, now i'm really interested in learning about my Scottish heritage as it is one of my favourite places to be!

Even though I was on holiday I still managed some Christmas shopping; I bought a knitted fairisle skirt from Primark as I wasn't taken with any of the Christmas jumpers, some little hand warmer gifts for my dinner party goody bags and the Christmas magazine. Now the holiday is over i'm going to really knuckle down with my Christmas prep.

I haven't managed to catch up completely and i'm afraid I don't have time right now to comment on everything I wanted to, but I do hope you're all well. xx

aliaslotte I'm very sorry to hear you've lost your job, I wish you lots of luck in finding another job. x

ahh i cant do it, i need to set a task and im going to do it! Need to feel somewhat organised, so this weeks task is to design a December planner to put on the wall(yes we have a calender but id like something special) and to make a meal plan for Xmas eve,day and boxing day.
we had a lovely day out and it didn't cost anything as used Tesco vouchers, was lovely to have a family day.
hope everyone has had a good weekend, hugs to those that need them and a gee up to those setting tasks for the week, we will get them done so omo doesn't have to tell us off(or just laugh at us) :-)

    Sixth Anniversary
Today is my first diabetic anniversary - I was diagnosed with type 1 on 6th October last year after a very dramatic hospitalisation where I was fighting for my life with frighteningly high blood sugar readings and very acidic blood, and it's amazing how far I feel like I've come after thinking Christmas would be ruined by my new dietary restrictions - as it happens, there is very little I can't eat, so I feel much more relaxed about this Christmas now that I know it'll all be nice and normal again :)

I'm going to splash out on a Nordicware tin to celebrate getting through a difficult year! They're not especially cheap or MSE-friendly but I specifically put the money aside from my September pay so that I could invest in one of the pretty fir tree tins (the one Nigella uses in Nigella Christmas for other Nigella fanatics!)

I've been up to my old tricks of slowly ordering bits and pieces online as they go into sales or I get discount codes, but I really like saving some of my Christmas shopping for late November/ early December to savour the atmosphere in the shops :) Am I the only one who is crazy enough to enjoy the busy bustle of town as it gets nearer Christmas?!
