Due to some pretty nasty circumstances, I've ended up unemployed this month and am now on the hunt to secure a new job as soon as possible.

I recalled that I had grabbed a few bargains in January, in things like the Boots 75% off sale, as well as a couple of bits across the year. So, I decided to dig them out this afternoon and put together a list. It has definitely helped put my mind at ease Christmas-wise. :)

    All bought for:
    - Boyfriend [his birthday is the week before Christmas, so I still have to buy him a few more things, but Christmas itself is taken care of].
    - Female friends x5
    - Male friend x1

    Partially bought for:
    - Grandmother
    - Brother

    Currently don't have anything for:
    - Mum
    - Dad

Basically just leaves the people I normally spend more on to buy for, with over two months to watch out for deals at places like Whittards and to secure a job in order to pay for it. :)

Oh MURIE my lovely dont be ashamed of how you feel, if that is how you feel you have every right to, none of us like to think we are getting old, and when something like this happens its quite scary because we then have to face it we arent in our 20s/30s anymore, are they not made these days to blend in more? It doesnt make you any less of a person wearing a hearing aid and i for one wouldnt think any different of someone if i noticed they had one, and i completely understand you still want to wear nice earrings and have your hair up, on the plus side to be able to turn it off when the kids or DH is getting on your nerves well what are you waiting for??? :rotfl:

Awww-Thank you! I'm not ashamed of the hearing aid (not over the moon about it tho!) - I'm more ashamed at my own vanity/ shallowness I think. I'm so lucky to walk in my shoes when there are others really suffering every day and I'm a blubbing wreck over a bit of plastic. Mind you- knowing my luck it'll be one of those bloomin big brown boombox things that I'll have to balance on my shoulder:rotfl:

Thank you for your lovely words tho;)
    lovin' this site!

Oh Murie, your not shallow at all. LOL at the boombox tho! My Nanna is 83 and refuses to wear one or admit she is deaf and so we spend all our time yelling at her or talking quietly so she cant hear us LOL.Just goes to show that lots of people feel the same. On the other hand my DD1's neonatal mate wears them and loves them (although the dog eats them quite regulary...)

Well Chrimbo wise, naff all done! I did get my sleigh stuff out and kind of mock one up. Have written a list of what I need for it and don't need much more.

Heard mentions of IBS. People who don't have it really don't realise how bad it can ruin your life. Im 33 and have the bad sort ie the dash to the loo one. Its ruining my life with my children. Am going through a particulary bad flare at the moment. I know lots is related to DD2 starting school and the upcoming house move. Anyway...

All expense here, am about to go online and order kids school pics. Need to pay childminder and really need to book this bloomin break for DH birthday.

Hope all else ok, please take it easy those of you impersonating headless chickens and gentle hugs for those who need them

I really sorry you lost your job. If you post what you have in mind as presents, I'm sure we can find it in budget.

Hi everyone, Had to go and get my regular 'injection' of HB and B&M today.:D

It was pages back but someone was asking about the Swizzles tins of sweets. I saw them in both shops today both at £4.99. However, they also did large tubes of the sweets and I bought one of these at £2.49. I bought a similar Haribo one a week or so ago. They should fill the kids stockings nicely.

aliaslotte- I once had a year like that and had to shop as much as I could out of my cupboards. I do remember that year that everyone appreciated what I'd got them. Probably because I'd had to put so much effort into getting them something suitable as cheaply as I could whist making it look worth a lot more than the cost.
