Wuvvies You are so organised! I hand make all my cards but I can pretty much guarantee I wont start till Dec and wont finish until 2 mins before I have to leave to deliver them ... I'm my own worst nightmare!
Choccymoose I'm a little OCD about colours... My bookcase isn't arranged by title or author but it is organised by colour, its like a rainbow of books across my room
The colour of our decorations always get dictated by the fairy.. My mum gets really attached to the fairies! But then on the other hand our house is very neutral, white, magnolia, creams and browns. So we're pretty safe to go with any colours
Lounge - silver fairy - tree silver and white and wood decorations sneak in especially if they are owlsand silver on the ceiling and garland to match -
The room is kind of neutral browns so it fits in...
Hallway is white and adopted old lounge fairy which was gold and had gold and red theme, hallway has turned into the place for anything, its like crazy Christmas grotto... red and gold on the ceiling (used to go in the lounge), nativity on the bookcase, any none silver or white presents go under there (gift wrapped stuff or things we receive), and all of the decorations we made as children
But I get free range in my brown and cream bedroom... and guess what I have a brown, gold, and cream tree. The gold has to be added in for sentimental reasons my first artificial tree was bought for me by my nanny and she gave me her spare fairy who is stood on a gold star
My sisters tree is a crazy mash up of colours which I prefer not to look at I'm pretty sure she is colour blind and doesn't know what she's doing... it hurts my eyeslol.
Sorry that's probably more of an essay than you wanted... I got excited...
You say you don't like red and gold... have to admit I'm not a fan either... I don't know why... I prefer red with silver or white, and gold with browns (obviously thats how my tree is :P) but have you considered just gold? that could look really elegant! I searched gold Christmas on pinterest (I'm addicted! http://www.pinterest.com/pixietotts/boards/ ) and gold and white came up that looked really pretty!I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....0 -

Wow thanks lol, we only do the tree in the lounge, the kids trees are pre decorated. They can add paperchains etc to their rooms and they get free reign. Its strange saying I dont like red and gold on the tree when I am going to do my lounge red gold and cream, but thats me :rotfl:
May move the teal ans silver into the dining room as that is purple and cream, so can add a few purples and have it as jewell colours, which leaves me with maybe just the gold, liking the idea will have a look at pinterest and run it past the others
STill got to decide real or fake yet cos of puppy and new woodburner 'we don't stop playing because we get old, we get old because we stop playing'0 -
Alja my pleasure
I'm really pleased for you. Hope the shops aren't too busy tomorrow afternoon for you, the thing is they'll be far worse in weeks to come wont they? Is tomorrow your charity shop day too? xxx
Yes, yesterday was my charity shop dayit's always interesting to see what's new and of course, as always, I came home with bargains! Bought a lovely chunky knit cardi/jacket for £5, a long white lightweight top for holidays next year £4 and a wh!te stuff dress for £4 all looked new and unworn. Then from another charity shop I picked up a brand new t*pshop skirt £4.50 and a cardi £3.00 which looked unworn too. (Our shop has been doing well with selling the Christmas cards!)
I actually didn't get the bus to the shops in the end yesterday! I just simply couldn't be bothered and I couldn't today either! So, instead I've had a lovely lie-in this morning and really relaxed over the weekend. I think I needed it though
My S*perdrug order came yesterday afternoon though, so that was good. Bought some maoam sweets for my Christmas party, a cranberry and pomegranate bath foam, and a few essentials (toothpaste, mouthwash, shampoo etc.). However, one thing we bought was a wash in, wash out hair dye of theirs but one of the bottles was slightly open and had started to leak out!
I called customer services to tell them what had happened and the lovely lady has arranged for a whole new lot of my order to be sent to me! Was very impressed.
I shall spend the rest of my day decluttering my room and possibly rearranging a few things to make life easier! Think I will take a look on P!nterest too for some Christmas party ideashave a lovely Sunday everyone!

Freespirit – my back is pretty much the same at the moment. I am awaiting my appt to go in as a day case for a caudal epidural( pain killing injection in spine) and a epidurogram. (before they inject the pain killing injection in between my vertebrae they will inject dye to allow a series of xrays to be taken to help radiologist to see if there is any scar tissue)
Own my Own – love Greenleafs ! he looks fab and will definately try the cup wreath x I too have not completed last week list so this week I aim to sort out mine, hubbys and kids wardrobes and drawers. Have managed to list some items on ebay though and intend to carry on.
Debndot – my daughter is just the same with cooking. I have done her a cooking hamper for Christmas with her own rolling pin, spoons, spatula. Chefs apron, hat and tea towel from b&m with gingerbread men on, its too cute. Also got her a kids recipe book and some sprinkles for on top of cakes. I want to do choc slabs this yeas too x
Ruth_Honey- mincemeat flapjack sounds lovely, adding cranberries sounds nice too. Please could you share the recipe as I seem to have missed it?
Loubylou1982 – Hello and welcome, just pop in and chat when you can, its great fun here

Spendless- I feel exactly the same about food at the moment. Potatoes are sooo expensive. I bought a 10kg bag of potatoes for £3 off the market and myself, mum and bestfriend split it between us. Potatoes were costing me over 3 a week and now I have more potatoes for £1 each person!
Flowfly- wow, bury,Bolton and botany bay in one day! You must be the energiser bunny haha
Choccymoose- that bracelet is gorgeous. I say just chuck some more colours on your tree, I have all the retro funky colours on mine, the brighter the better haha

However the end of this month it will be cream, red and gold! I don't really like red and gold on a christmas tree I am a bit of a colour rebel, shall I just add a few different colours on to it?
experiment with them First
we did pink/purple/teal last yr at the kids request and it looked beautiful but just felt like something was missing so plan on going back to red/gold for the main tree this yr.
mrsinvisible no wonder your tried you manged a huge amount when did you have time to sleep? glad you enjoyed it. the advent boxes sound great I'm sure everyone will love them
I will try and finish my post later once/if ds decides to take a nap coz he really really needs onethis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -

Have just finished reading "meet me under the mistletoe" and for anyone looking for christmas reads I would defiantly recommend, quite a feel good type story, and plenty of christmas talk!
Also, the smurfs christmas carol dvd is available to pre-order for just £4.74 from amazon. Not sure if its any good, but for any other smurf fans it would make a nice little elf or xmas eve hamper gift.
I've just ordered the kindle fire so I think ill make this my ditsy download/read! X0 -
Freespirit aww bless you and DC, I'm sure the stag isn't jinxed maybe you've got a "grumpy old man!" Haha, sure he'll be happy when he's settled
Im so glad you are feeling better, bout blooming time! The football was brilliant thanks, you may have heard we've two big ish teams here in Manchester ha but we are Stockport County supporters (real football) anyway they've had a really bad few years so we are well used to big losses and failure. Still love it of course. Today though oh my word, a win, a huge win 4-0. A very very rare occurrence
Great to watch xxx
Yayy good result, i for some reason imagined you and DH watching Man United, hope you have a good day todayI did the first day of the cd yesterday. absolutely worn out as I was trying to occupy myself from 9-4. I went to bury, a retail park outside Bolton and Botany Bay in Chorley. not impressed with most of that but was impressed with the 2 large pumpkin spice lattes I had from starbucks during the day.:T
got another day of it today. don't know where I am going to go as there is less choice on a sunday. I was that exhausted yesterday when I got in, I didn't know whether I was on this earth or fullers.
he is doing stuff for both days next weekend. a last night of the proms on Saturday and a jazz festival on the sunday. if fact Monday is our only free day this week, due to rehearsals etc. he got asked to dep in the following Saturday (19th) but he is already out all sunday in Cheshire doing it, so I said no. I can't do full weekends, week after week. he is fine, mind you. came in and played xbox all night with his matesanyway dh is back next weekend at least so that is some help with the driving and also company, because it doesn't half get lonely wandering about, trying to fill in your time. he made some excellent musical contacts this weekend however, so it has been worth it.
.
Oh i remember those days well running around here there and everywhere with the kids, trying to think what to do while they were doing what they were doing because it wasnt worth driving home and back againTasks this week is to finish last weeks tasks
Tomorrow DS is having his legs cast so he can have the splints made and whilst out I am going to pop round to the craft bank which is close to the hospital and rejoin.
I have middle DS popping round later so I may tug on his heart strings and see if he is willing to paint the bathroom.
Good luck to DS hope everything goes well tomorrow PINKSTEPS
AMEY hope you have a good day at work
