wuvvies- I echo what Feisty has said.

Let her make her mistakes but always keep the lines of communication open- let her know that whilst you don't support or approve of the choices she has made it doesn't and never will, stop you loving her. Make sure she knows that she is always welcome without the 'I told you so' s (even though you are thinking it!). Hopefully she will come to her senses sooner rather than later. You're doing the right thing keeping in touch with school about it- in my experience when they get to a certain age parenting becomes more about being there to pick up the pieces if things go wrong than being a confidante.
    Take care xxx
    lovin' this site!

  • Morning all. Hugs to all who need them, sorry im on phone so it is a bit difficult & very time consuming to reply individually, but I have read back, and I know a few are having a tough time with families/work etc, so again, big hugs.
Got dh home today and all next week, and then the week after we go to butlins for the girls joint birthday suprise. I cannot believe my eldest is going to be 13 on Tuesday, and just a week later my little baby turns 6! Where do the years go? Mum came to see is yesterday, and she was telling me about her qvc buys! She is back to her old self (before my father left) but only even better! We were planning a couple of christmassy days out, and are planning on going back to Spalding (I think its called springmeadows?) we went a few years back and the winter wonderland was very pretty, the kids still talk about it now. We have also decided to do Lincoln christmas market this year, just me & mum, its falls on her birthday so it will be very special!
Well I am going to go and try to persuade dh to help me with some wrapping now! Back soon xx
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.

in teenage time xmas is a million miles away they live in the here & now with no thoughts of the longterm or how their actions affect other people. its really hard to let go and let them make the mistakes you know they're making but unless they are in a dangerous situation sometimes the only way things will change for the better is to let them learn the hard way in they're own time safe in the knowledge that you will be there when they need you.

had a really lousy wk with poorly kids & it just seems to be more bad news after more bad news lately and so not going to comment individually as I'd be here all day but I know alot of people have been having a tough time too so hugs to eveyone that needs them & congrats to those who have had good/great news

not been feeling the xmas spirit this wk unsuprisingly but have picked up a couple of pressies from the argos 3 for 2 and had a look on boots/started making a list was disappointed with the biggest sanctury gift set get it every yr when its 1/2 price but don't think I'll bother this yr its in a tin which is actually lovely but not fussed on the contents. did see they had yankee candles in the 3 for 2 though not sure if the price is good?
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk
