  • The Christmas Magazine is out in the shops. Spotted in WHSmith today
It's in a cellophane bag with some free bits in there.
    £3.99

I'll pick up my copy tomorrow as I do every year.

Hi, Just popping on to say at lunch-time I went into Bodyshop for my free handcream and got told if I bought something for £5 I'd get a card that usually costs an annual £5 for free, didn't really explain what it was so I started to look round and then was approached by another assistant telling me about other offers. So I bought 2 shower cremes, on buy one get one half price (£4 each full price) plus free handcream, and then she rings it all thru and it only cost £5.20. Don't know if she rang it thru correctly but SA applied the discount from having the card before taking the one for half price off, which netted it down. I hauled my loot back to the office with an explanation of why I was late back:o and supervisor says she wants to give me a fiver and see what I come back with.:D

Picked up a leaflet in Sainsbury's yesterday for Llangollen Railway Santa Specials. This is where we would go for Days out with Thomas too (on through October) as its about an hour away. DS (age 2) is very excited. And the steam train looks fab. I've got Polar Express for December so hopefully we can fit this in :)

Also a friend of mine shared a link on fb to a Winter Wonderland at Chester Racecourse if anyone is interested. With Santa parade etc. But its the first time they've done it so no pics or reviews yet.
Can you post the link for Chester please as I have booked 3 nights in Chester in December
  • I am hoping someone can help me - I am making invitations for my family to invite them all to Christmas Day at our house and want a funny Christmas poem, but totally lack rhyming ability. I am thinking along the lines of presents are under the tree, turkey in the oven, just need my family etc. If anyone can help me, I know this is the place I will find them!

If you turn round what you put, it would say

The turkey is in the oven
The presents are under the tree
All I need now is my family here
To make it the perfect Christmas for me !

Not funny I know, but it rhymes. :rotfl:

Omo absoloutly love your little poem & you can consider it officially stolen for my Xmas day invite cards!
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.

I really feel for you. It must be a very difficult time for you and your family.
I would still get her a present. The last thing you want is for her to feel unwanted. If you get her nothing she will throw it back in your face one day. If she doesn't collect it, it will be her choice. By getting her a present you are letting her know the door is always open. xx

    Very wise words OMO.

Wuvvies - Having once been a difficult teenage daughter myself I would guess that once the novelty of living with the boyfriend wears off she will be back. I think as long as she knows you still want her home and you keep the lines of communication open then you are doing everything you can. I can appreciate that it must be a very stressful situation for you though, really hope things get better for you soon Xx

Thank you Freespirit, crowd pleaser and baby boo Xx It's horrible when people don't include you and are unfriendly, I just don't understand it at all as I would hate to make anyone feel that way!
So I just went to pick up DS from school, and as I walked past the other mums I thought of all you lovely ladies and your nice comments so I held my head up high with a big smile on my face and breezed past the lot of them! :D lol Xx

Thats just the way to do it, show them you dont give a ****

Afternoon everyone :) There's so much to read so hugs to everyone who needs them :)
I've not yet experienced the playground clique but I've no doubt I shall be on the outskirts of it come next year. From what I've experienced so far parents aren't that keen on mixing their child with a disabled child *insert rolling eyes here*. You never know, you might catch it ;)
No Christmas shopping today BUT I have won a HTC Windows Phone :D not sure whether I'll use it or my OH, but whoever does use it it'll be considered an early Christmas present :money: is that a bit cheap of me :rotfl:

My toddler has just upended his sandwich crumbs onto the carpet so I'm off to hoover!

Actually you are not the first person who has said that about her disabled child being ignored by the other mums when it comes to going round for tea, parties etc and unfortunately it just doesnt surprise me, but like you say everyone meets prejudice somewhere, look at that stuck up Katie Hopkins??? on This Morning saying she wouldnt let her kids befriend someone called Tyler i was outraged i wanted to phone in and say i have a Tyler and he has a degree you stupid woman!!!! Congratulations on the win that is brilliant!!
ETA - OMG how cute http://www.boots.com/en/Gingerbread-House-Biscuit-Tin-400g_1363994/ but anyone else think a little pricey for what is effectively a painted tin with a couple of biscuits in, or just me?
Hugs to all who need them.

No not just you ridiculous price :)

feeling totally unchristmassy. i save every single month..i put money on an a$da card and save bits and bobs for stockings.i love christmas in every way. last week my 16 year old daughter walked out to live with her boyfriend. we have already physically removed her from this house and she has just gone back there. i just cant do any more. im in constant contact with the school. i had one day this week earmarked to do christmas shopping. i dont think shell be back for christmas and i just dont know how to prepare for christmas with out her. do i just get my little ones presents?

as other posters have said, keep communications open. we have all been hot headed in the past, as teenagers. see how things go. she will probably be back with her bags before you know it. and if she isn't, the spirit of Christmas is family and love. I know it is difficult, but kids don't come with a handbook and they are just plain stupid sometimes. just get on with Christmas and looking forward to it, at least for the rest of the family's sake. if you are ready, and she turns up on Christmas eve with her bags, everything will be wonderful.

we are all here for you.

    xx
