  • i'd love to stay in a lighthouse!

not seen any of the qvc christmas :( life's been too busy blah lol Just got back from a gingerbread hunt with dd4... shes very fussy eating so when she mentions she'd like something i try to get it.. if its sweet then she gets it after trying some of her dinner etc. Anyway on the way home i walked passed card factory and in the window i noticed glove puppet elves!!! so had to go in and get one lol also picked up a gingerbread man cuddly :D Oh and in tescos i got a box of jelly babies for the christmas cupboard, couple of packs of the funsized mars bars (will grab some of the others next week) oh and 2 bars of the winter wonderland choc (my new fav but both going in the cupboard lol)

A much more productive xmas shop LOL

Oh and as for school playground cliques i've been around the playgrounds for about the last 16yrs i guess and they happen often.. Now im back at nursery with my youngest and it doesn't bother me in the slightest if the other mums talk to me or not.. i can't be done with the whole clique thing.. i certainly won't stand there making out my children are lil bleeps and going to bed at 5 either :S which a number of the mums at the nursery are like. I smile nicely and speak when spoken too but don't start convos.

  • Hi Don't know if this will help anyone but Boots have £10 off some of their perfume online only. I have just put in an order. I have also got free delivery to the house but can not remember how much you have to spend to get this. Good hunting. x

Afternoon everyone :) There's so much to read so hugs to everyone who needs them :)

I've not yet experienced the playground clique but I've no doubt I shall be on the outskirts of it come next year. From what I've experienced so far parents aren't that keen on mixing their child with a disabled child *insert rolling eyes here*. You never know, you might catch it ;)

No Christmas shopping today BUT I have won a HTC Windows Phone :D not sure whether I'll use it or my OH, but whoever does use it it'll be considered an early Christmas present :money: is that a bit cheap of me :rotfl:

My toddler has just upended his sandwich crumbs onto the carpet so I'm off to hoover!

MrsHayes I'm another one that was ignored at the gate. We moved when ds was in year 6 and dd was in year 2. It did get a little better as dd got older and started asking if friends could come to tea. The mum had to talk to me then, but I never made friends there.

To be honest I don't have many friends, I have never felt the need for them. I think it is do with never bringing any one home from school when I was younger (for obvious reasons). I just got used to being on my own. The friend I am going out with next week I met when I was 18. We are quite close but she has a partner and a baby, so we don't see a lot if each other. I don't actually have a best friend. I have never had one.

Anyway I got my gingerbread man cookie jar today and am very pleased with it. Popped into Morrison's and got a big jar of Mayo to put away. I had a look in the Christmas Isle but I'm just not interested in the Christmas goodies. We don't get many anyway. Both the kids have their favourite sweets in their stockings and we get a tub of Heros, some Pringles and dip, but not a lot else. It never gets eaten. Neither me or ds have a sweet tooth, I'd rather eat pumpkins seeds than sweets. Ds loves sweets, but she would eat them all and it's not good for her.
Goodness we sound like a real Bah Humbug house don't we. :o

The 99p store had bars of Baileys Truffles in today. Date 6/14.

Popped into my Dads today, mentioned Christmas and he laughed. Apparently my step sister asked him what he wanted yesterday. He replied he didn't know what he wanted for dinner tomorrow let alone what presents he wanted in 3 months time. :rotfl:
( but we do know he doesn't want a cheese hamper ) :rotfl:

I am so pleased I have finally caught up! It's only taken a week - you guys can talk!

I've been far too behind to really individually comment, only to say ALJA - we have 3 Boots' in town and only one of them has its Christmas stock out, but I may have jumped up and down a little bit when I found it on Sunday.

I also got some lovely Christmas items from the sale at Country Baskets - very reasonable prices for some of their things. It is for cardholders only - but anyone can apply for a card! :D

And OMO I loved that Gingerbread man cookie jar when Lakeland had it last year, disappointingly don't have a Parkers anywhere near though.

ETA - OMG how cute http://www.boots.com/en/Gingerbread-House-Biscuit-Tin-400g_1363994/ but anyone else think a little pricey for what is effectively a painted tin with a couple of biscuits in, or just me?

Hugs to all who need them.

  • Thanks OMO and ms gigglewick.

I can't believe how many of us have experienced playground cliques! I guess maybe I was lucky that DS1s nursery was so lovely and I made one really good friend there and everyone else nodded and smiled at you! Maybe that is the exception rather than the norm! I'm not bothered about being best friends with the other parents I just think to not even bother to acknowledge someone is downright rude lol and a smile costs nothing! :D

Sequeena - anyone who behaves like that is obviously not somebody you would want near your precious DS anyway! I'm sure you will meet some lovely people, even if some are ignorant Xx

Actually been thinking about this clique thing a lil more while making dinner.. two days ago i was called back after the other children were sent home. thought eek what has libbie done lol but it wasn't her. she had been cornered in the toilets by a lil girl and either bitten or pinched very hard leaving a mark on her arm... apparently the girl was told off and a letter sent home... Wind forward to this morning. the mum of this little girl was asking questions about a letter she had got from the dr's about the new flu immunisation.. the teacher instantly asked me as she knows my libbie is having it next week.. This mum just totally looked through me and just asked the teacher the same questions so the teacher gave the answer not me! it did make me chuckle that this mum has taken it in her way to hold a grunge with me :S but i just want to pat her on the head and say there there lol. Didn't occur to me until the clique thing was in my mind that she was the noisest mother in the playground! lol
