Hi all, I've got a bit behind so wanted to say hi before going back and reading through.
I haven't been at work this week because this cold has really taken a hold of me and I can't shake it off. Not sure what's wrong with me, I've never had a whole week off with a cold before but I've felt quite dreadful.
Bless DH, he went to Asda yesterday at 7:15am to stock up on paracetomol, Vicks vapo rub, Halls soothers and goodness knows what else for me! He also bought me a cross stitch magazine that was full of Christmas designs so that got me excited. There's loads of stuff I want to stitch now but won't have time to do before Christmas!
Anyway, i'm going back to catch up, I hope everyone is ok. xx0 -
Oh dear I have missed so much work has been hectic the past 2 weeks almost handed my notice in after being offered a job but my boss has talked me round and said things will change so we shall see. I have been that knackered not done anything christmassy all week. Still got some more tags to finish and doing some special xmas cards for my nephews so want to get started on them asap.
Hope everyone is well I will try and catch up as soon as I'm able to keep my eyes open for long enough.0 -

I hadn't thought of that. Minimal cooking skills required and could look fancy lol. My parents have been great, I still live at home, and if they hadn't been cheering me on and helping every step of the way the last few years I would have given up by now.
Medication wise, the doctors ask when you ring up here if you have enough of your other things for over Christmas, was shocked when I rang last year as they never did ask at my last surgery. We are slowly stocking up on cough medicine etc.
Went in to Lidl today, that had the Christmas sweets etc out. Was very tempted to get some chocolate covered gingerbread rings, stopped myself though.“I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”

I am off to Scotland tomorrow - have a 10 hour car journey with this cold! Hopefully i'll feel better in the morning. I am taking the laptop so will be able to keep up with you all. Even though i'm going to a place with lots of activities to do, after catching up on here the only two things I have on my list to do at the moment are buying the Christmas magazine and finding a Boots Christmas catalogue!0 -
Snugglebunny8 wrote: »PrincessKitty I like that quote too!! did you see Mark Webber got a grid penalty for the next race because of him getting a lift back frpm fernando? what a ridiculous decision! although he and fernando seem to be having a giggle about it together on Twitter!
I know it's crazy!! We really have gone health and safety mad now. I know they were on the track so accidents can still happen, but no one was racing and they're grown men! These decision makers take the fun out of everything. I went to see the film Rush last week - the story of Niki Lauda vs James Hunt - it's amazing what went on back then! The health and safety inspectors of today would have kittens.
p.s. did you pull your muscle getting over-excited about the Christmas wares on QVC??0 -
hello all. thanks so much for your lovely words. im still texting her but shes cutting herself off completely from me. i have actually sent a text saying day or night i can come and get you when your ready to come home. she was my perfect child but as soon as she turned 16 and met this boy she went off the rails. her dad is a pain in the !!!!. he said to me... why dont you tell her she doesnt have to eat your stupid meals with the family. she can make herself something when ever shes hungry. thats not how we do it in my house. ive got a little boy and he will be confused why he has to eat veg every day while shes having chocolate. the day before she left i made chicken pie one of her favs...totally from scratch.roast potatoes and carrots and kale. i called the kids. she picked up her meal and scraped the whole lot in the bin then TOOK a penguin from my pantry. my husband ( her step dad) didnt see or he would have gone mad. in my house nobody has to clear a plate but your expected to eat as much as you can. she loves junk and will live off it.I am far to soft with her and im going to make it clear IF i have her back ( which of course I will) she will live by my rules. I must be strong. I have been beside myself with utter pain as she was my friend. Ive lost so much. I have my gorgeous little boy but he is happy to do his own this where as she would follow me everywhere and always did things with me. I have told her ive lost my friend in the hope she will understand and she just says "so"
anyway there is a christmas point to this.... i always do christmas eve bags and christmas stockings. would you cut these out for her and just do main presents. a) she may not be here but b) will she think im just making a point?? i have another daughter and shes at uni and she doesnt have christmas eve bags or christmas stocking just the main. I very much need to be done and dusted by november as i having an op and will only have one arm the other will be in plaster. all presents need to be sorted and wrapped by then
so..... treat her as a grown up and just get her the main risking her getting upset or just go for it all and risk her not being here.0 -

The crux is its 500 for 4 nights. Plus ferry which will be about 60 with car and then all our petrol n food etc.
Is it too much? Ive found cheaper but nowhere comes close...

Hello all, What is "The Christmas Magazine"? Is it like a Good Housekeeping one or something?0

Sorry really can't remember who asked about the stockings in Poundland but The Range has some nice one in for £1.49.
I didn't get the snowman today, I got a small light up white house. It was £4.99. Panic struck last night when I realised that my little forest that sat on the book case last year now has nearly 9ft to cover.
So I am on the look out for little houses to fill some gaps. You know me, nothing to colourful, only white, wood or tin.:rotfl:
Off to catch up now. x0 -

Just do her a main present. If she comments tell her you didn't know if she was going to be there or not, and that the bags and stockings are for children.0
