Okay, so I know it kind of goes against the grain of our super preparations, but am I the only worried that if I do all the Christmas bits early (writing cards etc), then when it actually comes to Christmas, I may have nothing to do at all? :rotfl:
No Christmas prep done today, but I finally got round to designing a friends husband anniversary gift that he wants to give to his wife for their first anniversary. I tried telling him politely I wasn't comfortable doing it as it was a graphic poster and that isn't what I do - but he was insistent and really sweet, so I kind of told him I would try, but have been putting it off for the best part of this month. Finally emailed him the proof and although it isn't my cup of tea, he loves it! Just hope he wasn't sparing my feelings[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

There's normally two good magazines out at christmas. We know about The Christmas Magazine as it has been discussed and came out yesterday. Whilst it is a good magazine I must admit I do prefer the Ideal Homes Specific Xmas Magazine which should be out shortly. I'm not talking about the monthly magazine, but a stand alone one.0

Wuvvies, oh bless you hun. I went off the rails at 16. I had to drop an a level because I was partying too hard. Mind you I still came home every night (actually at morning often) and more than once Mum would get dressed and come n get me. But by the time I went to uni at 18 Id done all the mad stuff and settled down. LOL. My Mum was very supportive and let me make my own mistakes. Your daughter will come to realise what she is letting go. I think the best idea would be to let her know your love is always there but she must make her own errors in life xxx
Hope everyone else is ok. Ive rammed some more carp into my locker at work. dreading bringing it all home lol.
Went to B&M on way home today, they are getting lots of their crimble stuff out. I picked up some sticky label tags as I find them easier for the kids pressies and a box of little cards for the girls to send their friends at school. I very very vey nearly bought the Christmas loo roll but its was 1.49 a roll. LOL!
Taking girls to a birthday party at soft play tomorrow. Its DD1's incubator neighbours party at soft play so I wont know any other mums and too far to travel home so I will take my book I think. Have been neglecting reading lately as trying to make as much money as possible on survey sites etc.

Feisty I know I have more than enough on my lists to keep me busy for another 12 weeks.
You don't have to start yet if you don't want to. You can start when ever you feel like it. It's not compulsory. :rotfl:0 -
Freespirit - sorry that you have also had a difficult time with your DD, I think you are right in that she is hurting and is taking it out on those closest to her (as sadly most of us do) you sound like a fantastic mum tho.
Thankyou MRSHAYES that is such a lovely thing to say, i try my best to be firm but fair and the opposite of what my mum was likehad a really lousy wk with poorly kids & it just seems to be more bad news after more bad news lately and so not going to comment individually as I'd be here all day but I know alot of people have been having a tough time too so hugs to eveyone that needs them & congrats to those who have had good/great news
Aah MANDCO sorry you are having a bad time at the moment, hope you have a good weekend, that yankee gingerbread men tart holder will cheer you upI won't be on as much for the next couple of weeks.....ds is playing the music for a show this weekend, which is proving to be massive and has been booked by someone to do the percussion for a cd next weekend, as we can't do rehearsals, due to other rehearsals already booked, they have just sent all the other musical scores to my email. so I am going to print them off and will be helping him to get through them in the next 7 daysthen he is playing in a jazz festival the next weekend. I will be off and on though, so everyone keep well and happy xx
Hope you and DS have a lovely time, good luck to DS#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -
I always leave my cards til the very end of November ready to send out in the first. And I leave my wrapping til the last week before Christmas. I like to make a big thing of getting a glass of wine, or Baileys, putting a christmas movie on and doing them all. I don't like doing things too early incase I don't feel Christmassy enough lol.
I have stopped picking up so many little stocking fillers, I have lost track of what I have bought, need to get everything out and see what I have bought so far x:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -

I have finished task 3 on my list and got all the change into notes for DN and DNs money wallets, they are now all written out and sealed, just need to write my cards tomorrow not at all hard less than 10 i think haha i am another one with only one dear friend and she lives in Devon now so we only see each other once a year, i also bought dark green card to make the cone for my sweet tree (i hope it works) tomorrow i am going to read my xmas mag as havent even opened it yet.hello all. thanks so much for your lovely words. im still texting her but shes cutting herself off completely from me. i have actually sent a text saying day or night i can come and get you when your ready to come home. she was my perfect child but as soon as she turned 16 and met this boy she went off the rails. her dad is a pain in the !!!!. he said to me... why dont you tell her she doesnt have to eat your stupid meals with the family. she can make herself something when ever shes hungry. thats not how we do it in my house. ive got a little boy and he will be confused why he has to eat veg every day while shes having chocolate. the day before she left i made chicken pie one of her favs...totally from scratch.roast potatoes and carrots and kale. i called the kids. she picked up her meal and scraped the whole lot in the bin then TOOK a penguin from my pantry. my husband ( her step dad) didnt see or he would have gone mad. in my house nobody has to clear a plate but your expected to eat as much as you can. she loves junk and will live off it.I am far to soft with her and im going to make it clear IF i have her back ( which of course I will) she will live by my rules. I must be strong. I have been beside myself with utter pain as she was my friend. Ive lost so much. I have my gorgeous little boy but he is happy to do his own this where as she would follow me everywhere and always did things with me. I have told her ive lost my friend in the hope she will understand and she just says "so"
anyway there is a christmas point to this.... i always do christmas eve bags and christmas stockings. would you cut these out for her and just do main presents. a) she may not be here but b) will she think im just making a point?? i have another daughter and shes at uni and she doesnt have christmas eve bags or christmas stocking just the main. I very much need to be done and dusted by november as i having an op and will only have one arm the other will be in plaster. all presents need to be sorted and wrapped by then
so..... treat her as a grown up and just get her the main risking her getting upset or just go for it all and risk her not being here.) i have never had any trouble with her since. I know kids really do bring you to the end of your tether, and i also would not have put up with her scraping the dinner into the bin, its disrespectful. Sending you lots of hugs, i know it can be an awful time, but you will come through it

I saw something on there earlier that I want to make, so rather than forget where it was I opened an account and pinned it. I then thought that I would keep looking incase there was anything else I liked.
Which there has been, but I feel like I am just looking at the same things over and over and over again.
I did feel like that last night i must admit, as i have over 2000 pins  i did have a moment 'what the hell am i doing? am i really going to make half of this' :rotfl:FeistyFidget wrote: »Okay, so I know it kind of goes against the grain of our super preparations, but am I the only worried that if I do all the Christmas bits early (writing cards etc), then when it actually comes to Christmas, I may have nothing to do at all? :rotfl:Well some of us can sit on our lazy backsides and watch xmas films, eating what we have prepared, we arent all fidgets like you :rotfl:
