• Would anyone be interested in doing a Secret Santa on this thread? Does anyone have experience of doing one on a forum before?

I have done one the last two years on another forum, and it works quite well as long as everyone who says they will send a gift does. It's not just random gift sending, it's to a specific person. You get a short list of questions about hobbies/allergies/favourites etc. then a list of Santas and recipients is drawn. You don't get a gift from the person you are send to, so it's secret! On the other forum we do it early before Christmas day and have an opening day where everyone shares what they've got and tries to guess who it's from!
• Hi everyone,
Long time since I've posted but reading everyday.
Feisty - I've been to that shop before, it's lovely there. You're gonna make a fab job if running it with all your crafty bits. Will have to come and visit you...and if you're thinking about running classes then put my name on the top of the list!!
Well, life is slowly returning to normality with DDs bday out of the way last week (first day of her new school & birthday on the same day, she was excited but a bit scared too, she had a fab day tho :)) then her birthday party: 6 girls making jewellery - they made gorgeous little bracelet with a lady and all had a great time. Now back into the full swing of school runs and getting my Xmas hat on. Met up with my Xmas-presents-making-friend today :) and started sorting out what we wanna make this year. Getting excited!! Been losing a few hours here and there on Pinterest in the evenings, there is just so much good stuff on that site. Wish I'd known about it when DD was smaller.
Big hugs to everyone who's needing them, hope those twinkling Xmas lights will brighten up your days.
104 days till Christmas!! :D

Poppygirl - secret Santa sounds good, didn't this thread do it last year?
• Helloooooooooo its only meeeee at last I'm back. Have been lurking but for some reason, time/boring life/ no news/ busy helping friend set up her business and other friend get ready to start up after Christmas/ buddying bff who is doing a mindfulness course and needs support encouragement to stick at it, havnt posted. But have been keeping up to date.
Lordy its cold, and wet and miserable, need to Christmas things up.
Oh, am I the first to put up Christmas deccys? I have 3 conifers in pots, so when I removed the summer bedding plants I put solar fairy lights on them. They were lovely last night.
DD wants me to host an Av@n party for her next week, wonder if it will be an occasion of festivity and fun or a flaming flat pancake. Can't say no, anyway, off now to look at a car with first friend hugs, congratulations and sympathy and I will try to be on regularly. xxxxx

Aww there you are I must've been typing Mrsinvisible I haven't half missed your words of wisdom :) My little wise owl :) You are such a kind person helping and encouraging friend. I passed a house last week that also had twinkling fairy lights on three conifers, made DH go round the block again but couldn't work out if they'd been left from summer dining outside or were indeed my first set of Christmas lights this year :) Go you. I did have my first mince pie on Sunday so the festivities have begun xxx
Think your av@n party will be a huge success - fingers crossed for DD anyway, think they usually have nice bits for Christmas that usually sell out early so could be perfect timing xxx
