Everybody is doing so well
as usual I'm lagging behind! However the living room is now stripped and ready for re plastering on Monday ! Such a blooming palaver DH (grumpy - the usual "doesn't need doing" etc etc etc) waited nearly 30 years to get it done and I'm sure it'll be worth it but argh I'm going to get earache ! I need some ideas as to what to do with the room decorating wise, I've looked at Pintrest but nothing really suitable for a little living room like mine as I'm not replacing the furniture etc. I'm a bit stuck! Looks like it'll be black and white with a hint of red- I always end up with that

The secret of Christmas
It's not the things you do at Christmastime
But the Christmas things you do
All year through0 -
Nana, do you have any photos of how it currently looks (or at least the furniture)? It may help with ideas
I'm sure you've searched for this, but I found quite a few suggestions here;

Oh my word, if you ever get the chance to go to the Globe, grab it with everything you have got! As it was a birthday present, I had no idea where we were going to be, but she had bought tickets which meant we were under cover so kept dry, unlike the poor sods in the middle of the theatre. It lasted 3 hours, inc interval so if I had not paid for cushions to plonk bums on, it could have been a tad painful in end. But what a wonderful performance, I laughed so much and there were times when I wondered if that was supposed to happen, but the actors kept going. Can't remember whether it was Judy Dench or Helen Mirren that said each play is an original performance and it is so true, any mistakes are glossed over and it will be some other mistake tomorrow night. Shame about having to work today!
Giving up on Christmas shopping at moment, got too much to do, though if I see anything while I am in Egypt, I'm sure I could be persuaded to buyA smile costs little but creates much0 -
Morning all!
Was asking OH last night if we could have a Christmas day out again this year. Last year we didn't we'd just got the flat so were happy just staying in and getting it organised. The year before we went to a winter wonderland type place, but we couldn't go in - only ticket options were parent and child admission, wouldn't let just two adults in! We went for a wander round a craft fair then for some lunch, so was still a nice day out! This year we'll be avoiding it obviously and instead go into the city, have a wander, some lunch and look at wedding rings. Like taking in the Christmas atmosphere knowing my presents etc. are done!!0 -

I Picked up in the debenhams sale online some small filler gifts, nail varinish sets, self tan mit for my neice who likes to be a shade darker than tangoed, lol, and a pair of matching small Julien Macdonald vases for my aunt & uncles main pressie. I am using the online christmas present tracker app posted a few pages back to keep track, I love it & has helped me see much clearer how to stagger buying the gifts for people.I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

Im so glad people like the Winter Wonderland idea! you can download the song on MP3 for less than £1 from Amazon or itunes and perhaps put it on to blank cd? Im not sure about wether you are allowed to do that though as Ive never burned anything to a disk in my life!
Love the Secret Santa idea!
OMO so sorry to hear what the stupid TC people have done! makes you so mad when they mess with people like that, it just isnt on to not pay people and expect them to cope without the funds they are expecting, hope you are ok *hugs* xxx0
