Sorry to anyone I have forgotten! Tried the new - type out responses in word document but got all confuddled lol

Sorry I have not been on in a while, had a bad week! tried to knock my pain medication off and I was completely floored. It brought me to the floor with a big black dog sat on top of me. Then to be told that I may be like this for at least 18mths or even permanently was the final blow. Im going for acupuncture next week to see if that can relieve some of the symptoms.
On a christmas note I have got my 2 nephews a design a bear each reduced in argos. Also bought the superhero bear dressing up set so they can dress their teddies up in it. Very MSE at £7.97 on each nephew. Then I bought them a book each on the amazon sale at £1.50 each. Thats them done
    heres the teddy

Morning all :) just caught up again, lovely reading through your posts!

It looks like Superdrug has sorted out its website now and there's a lot more on there now. It doesn't say anything about the 3 for 2 yet though, so I will wait for the offer before buying anything.

I'd love to drive to our nearby big towns to shop today, but I'm feeling a bit apprehensive about driving. Someone drove into me earlier in the year and as I don't have to drive very often, I occasionally get a bit scared about getting into the car again thinking it'll just happen to me again! I wasn't hurt in the incident, but it took so much time and stress to sort it all out (when it wasn't my fault and the other car was practically fine! It almost wrote my car off!) that I just couldn't deal with that twice in one year!

Anyways, I think I may just pop down into our own little town centre today, I'm sure I could find some things :) will report back if I find anything! Have a lovely Sunday everyone x
  • Princess kitty well done on the HB finds. I got :
    Nemo expandable face clothes 29p
    3 x choc face masks $2
    Mini lalaloopsy dolls 49p each
Mini moshi dûlpo figures 49p each
And a ping pong cup game $3.99
Candy necklaces in an Xmas case 99p
    Various sweets etc
Mainly stocking fillers & advent gifts. Went in the range and came out empty handed very dissapointrd as no Xmas stuff at all!
Yesterday I was able to buy myself a nexus 7 out of my business profits! It is brilliant! I am using it for business use, have all my apps on and so much easier than paper books for appointments/accounts/etc. But I couldn't resist a quick catch up!
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.

hey guys, been lurking for ages now, I used to post but I have moved house etc and things have got very hectic. Always have time for christmas and this thread though. I was wondering what your thoughts are on me giving christmas eve presents rather than presents on christmas day. Because all of the presents that I want to buy are most suited for christmas eve than after, like christmas PJs, candle, blankets etc, and I think it is too late to use on christmas day. I want to make a sign that states they must open on christmas eve. I wont see any of them on christmas morning anyway because it will just be me and my partner then we will all meet up later. please let me know what you think. I cant afford to do presents for xmas day and xmas eve and I think it would be a nice change.
  • Thank you for your lovely warm welcomes :D

Princess Kitty where did you get the 19p flannel from? I am yet to start my Operation ChristmasChild shoebox yet, usually go out with my Mom during October half term to get things. I’m finding getting a box harder each year. Not often you get given a shoebox when buying shoes anymore.

Alja sorry to hear about your accident knocking your confidence, glad to hear you were ok. I had a woman drive into me this morning and although it’s only left scratches on the car I was still very shaken and upset. It’s not a nice thing to experience.

Fenna that’s a nice idea, especially if you will get to see them open the presents.

After browsing the low cost handmade Christmas presents thread I’ve decided to make a movie box for my OH as I needed something small and cheapish for his last present. I have Graze snack boxes delivered so reused one of the boxes and made three film clapperboards featuring some of his favourite films to decorate the box. I shall then pop to somewhere like Tesco to buy some cheap sweets to fill the box and add Nation Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation DVD (his favourite Christmas film) to the box which I’ve found on Amazon for just £3.37!

Home bargains had wicker baskets £1.99 very good for hamper makers very rustic looking with a handle. I went in town looking for summer bargains, did get some bikini bottoms for £3.00 in peacocks.

Back from another boot sale. :D

Got given a stair gate for free, it got broken in their car and they said the first person to enquire about could have it. :D the bit that had broken off has made no difference to us using it, as it is not up against a wall. It is extendable and I have wedged it in the French doors.

I also got him this for £20. It was a returned item. The wheels squeak. Bit of WD40 should sort it out.

Not sure I would have paid £49, l know I would not have paid £89.

Ds got a few more small fishing bits, but he bought them himself.

Am now sitting here with a nice cup of coffee, catching up.

We are lucky that dds school specialised in Media, and a lot of the teachers are all quite arty, meaning the dress code is quite arty.
Just no jeans or anything see through.

ETA just watching Bugsy Malone on channel 4. One of my fave films. The DVD may have go on my Xmas list.
  • big ty for the comments about my elves. just started a purple and silver one for my brother lol takes about 3 days of the time i get to knit to make each elf. and keeps me out of trouble lol

had a few too many drinks so can't comment individually atm but will do!

fiesty hope things are looking up for you and your dh, loving all your bits on fb and sorry for posting about the spelling mistake on yoru post. wasn't until after i thought maybe i should have inboxed you about it sorry!!! hope todays sale has gone well xx

Don't apologise :) I'm glad you spotted it. As DH and I had both handled it and neither noticed, we found the funny side of it all ;) Believe it or not I got an A an English literature :rotfl: In all honesty I think that the stress of everything is frying my brain :( I was on the verge of going to the doctors as my brain seems to keep misfiring - but I'm pretty sure it will be put down to stress!

Sounds great! I'm hoping to put a couple of little hampers together for my parents this Christmas, don't think I'll be doing particular themes though, just boxes of niceness I think!

I popped into our town's centre today (as mentioned earlier) and picked up a couple of yummy bits to pop in my parents' foodie hamper that I always do them. I picked up a little box of Mr T finest all butter shortbread fingers, a jar of Mr T's finest red onion relish and then popped over to the coop (to see an isle filled with yummy Christmas treats! eek!) and picked up a box of walnut whips for their hamper...I'm sure they'll share them with me which is always a bonus ;)

I was a bit miffed that none of them were on offer but at least I had a £1 off membership card voucher to use on the walnut whips. I just really wanted to make a real start on getting things in ready for Christmas!
