Craft fair sounds lovely, it's defo got to beat digging in the garden. What are you doing with your garden? Can you see the progress? My back garden is likea scrap yard
DH is such a hoarder. It's on my to do list but way way down at the mo xxx
Made it to the craft fair and it was fab - I think it said there were 145 stalls and was a great mix of craft and vintage. If only I had more room at home I could have bought some great up-cycled furniture and some really lovely vintage stuff. I keep looking round the house to see if I can re-jig things to make some space but not with much success (not helped by the fact that we're currently surrounded by loads of baby equipment from DGD that I've promised my DD2 I'll try and sell). My sister fell in love with a hand knitted sheep tea cosy (I know it sounds odd but it was lovely and was knitted from wool from the stallholder's aunt's farm in Wales). I might go back tomorrow and get it for her birthday pressie if I can be sure she won't go back herself. Actually I'd just really like an excuse to go back for another look
I thought of you while I was there Feisty because although the things were beautiful and there were loads of people looking there didn't seem to be a huge amount of spending going on.
really not happy with asda ordered so items for instore delivery which they managed to lose when they finally turned up 2 were not what I'd actually ordered and 2 more boxes were all dented as the items were on sale no more stock available so a choice of keep them or get a refund as its for mine I know they wont be worried about the state of the packaging so kept them but had it been for a gift no way  I emailed a complaint to customer services and was told I'd hear back in 1-2 working days still waiting a wk later
[/QUOTE
I sympathise. My DD2 ordered some things for store delivery and when she got there they couldn't find them and she was kept waiting for over an hour while they looked for them. Not being one to accept such things lightly (not sure where she gets it from) she complained strongly to the manager and ended up getting a credit/voucher. Hope the same happens for you.
DD1 has asked if I fancy going to a boot sale tomorrow so keeping everything crossed that the weather is ok - we were lucky today and it was dry and warm until late afternoon. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -

Freespirit you know DS is right re dr and the pain you are in. The NHS is good but psychic mind reading???? Listen to the lovelies, it's time to make the appointment. And mention your migraine they've been very much in the news this week haven't they so they'll be a hot topic amongst GPs. Feistys words were beautiful
you know I'm no good with words but I can second hers
and our darling Caitlyn think she's been held hostage during the festival. They want to keep her for themselves - don't they know we are missing her
xxx
Today nothing has been achieved in the Nanamia householdI've sat on the sofa in my pjs and dressing gown and caught up on some tv or been snoozing ! Don't know what got into me but it better be gone in the morning
xxx
Night night xxxI expect your body wanted a much needed rest where you have been so busy, its probably done you a huge amount of good
FeistyFidget wrote: »In the feisty household things didn't go according to plan yesterdayHad the shock of my life when I got in from business meetings expecting to be alone (MrF was supposed to be at the hospital next county over) and he was home! Apparently consultant phoned back to discuss symptoms etc and he said it is pointless coming to the appointment as they wont be able to diagnose without a MRI - he's promised an emergency appointment for this (within 2 weeks?!) but consultant is now off on holiday so MrF needs to see a colleague - I'm sensing trouble ahead
Solicitor were supposed to call by the end of the week, they haven't
Business was initially advised to be 5k, then closer to 5k, and now 7k with the possibility of it being less if more stock is sold - heart is saying go for it (if I can get them down to 5k) but head is telling me to keep crunching the numbers.
In reality regardless of me buying the business we aren't going to meet our deposit target - so unless our flat goes up a considerable amount we will have to think of a plan B - my heart is telling me to buy the business to cheer me up as this is a bit of a blow.
Off for the final outdoor craft fair of the year. I am hoping to make back my pitch £12.50 and nothing elseI wanted to pull out (after last terrible fair) but as I was stall sharing with another lady it didn't seem fair.
SNUGGLEBUNNY sleeveless tops?? seriously?? my DD wears lovely sleeveless blouses at her office based job and she always looks ultra smart. Ebay is getting worse and what with the postage prices already rocketed people just arent going to use it
PRINCESSKITTY thankyou im on it, nice haul from HB
SEQUEENA ah he will look so sweet
JUNIORJ sorry you had a bad night hope you had a good time at HB and are feeling better now, weirdly enough i knew you meant tramadol when i read trampoline
LALAGOMAY been watching it all day nearly only just switched it off
OMO great xmas pressies for DS, my kids were supposed to be doing a car boot in the morning but its forecast rain so we will have to see what its like at 6am
PEPPAPIG oh glad you went to craft fair, it sounded lovely
Well today i have mainly sat on my backside watching xmas cookery shows, i have never heard of Ina (barefoot contessa) before, loved her shows, popped to sainsburys tonight and they have Milk Tray chocs half price, Thorntons premium chocs half price, Matchmakers half price, I got a box of mint matchmakers for after xmas dinner, 2 boxes of Carrs Melts crackers reduced to £1 each and two tubs of candied orange for my mincemeat recipe reduced to 80p from £1.69 each (BBE SEP 13) but it wont go off, so a few more bits in my xmas food stash#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -

lidl have the 1/2 price choc bars on again this weekend and that gave me an idea thinking I could maybe print some kind of xmassy wrapper for them and dd can give them out for her xmas gift or do you think that seems a bit too cheap? they do this thing where they are meant to bring in a token gift for everyone (30 people)and it gets expensive.
msgigglewick love your xmas elves
omo great deal on ds pressie
snugglebunny we were never allowed to wear sleeveless tops at work as its unprofessional and gives a bad impression apparently.that dress code is seriously strict honestly some places are taking things too far and making it so hard to comply surely as long as the clothes they wear fit the "brief" and they look smart that should be enough after all once you start work most companies either provide a uniform or allow you wear what you want within reason.
still trying to catch up but the tazmainian devil aka the youngest is off again so try and pop back laterthis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -
OMO had to laugh at your brilliant outburst at your neighbour! Good on you!!!!
I bet your son was really pleased with his present. My son is 10 and he just has no idea what he wants for Christmas. My dd is 3 and she wants every single thing that comes on as a n advert on tv haha
Pink n Fluffy I am so happy that you got a dr that would listen to you. Sometimes the fear of being believed can make people iller than they already are. I know I get in a right state before I go to the drs and I only had surgery 3 months ago
Freespirit I can only speak from my own experience at aged 37 that my body felt it was ready for the scrap heap when I had my slipped disc. The amount of pain I was in had me feeling and walking like a woman in their 90s.Still on the road of recovery but I seem to be having good days aswell as bad where as it was just bad days before.Talk to your GP as nerve pain is a really bad pain to manage.
Junior J hi and welcome x
Chrissy G I would have done exactly the same as you and hope she is feeling alot better now. xx
Mrs Gigglewick On top of my fridge looks like amazon warehouse too, My dd starts nursery on weds so I will have 3 hours a morning to help get organised. The elfs are fantastic!!
Snugglebunny It’s the tax office that make things complicated not you. Hope you manage to get something sorted as its hard trying to make ends meet at this time of year.
Quidsy the pantomime sounds great x what a great idea, I may do that myself
Fatblackandwhite glad you managed to get the cameo working. I have no idea what it is but am going to google it now and have a look – oooh that is fab!!
Stephyt23 hi – just think your placement is good timing for Christmas excitement at schools and well done on the july start on the shopping!
Ellie9ellie – welcome back, great question about the annuals, I too want to get the kids one each. Hoping the elf can bring them xx
Fevertotell- im so sorry that present buying is so difficult for your family. Hopefully it wont turn out too bad and if you need to sound off or ask for ideas then this is the board for you xx We all have people similar in our families. I have a few who never sas thank you and I never see a present I give them in their house so I stopped making an effort.
Snugglebunny – the 6th form dress code sounds ridiculous! True they should look smart but does it have to be so regimental. I too do the Christmas eve hamper but never thought of themed ones! Whoohoo what a fab idea. Mind you last year I did a family hamper as money was a bit tight0 -
Nic- Im with peppapig on the whole – there must be something better lurking in the not too distant future for you. Keep your chin up xx
Nanamia – pj days are the best! Its good for refuelling the batteries and a great way to just catch up with life sometimes.
Feistfidget – Oh no! im with feisty, I thought that they were going to do all the scans etc whilst he was there. What was the acyual point of him ringing then? I got PALS involved with my predicament with my back and now my own GP uses a Dictaphone in our appointments! (he was the one that said my slipped disc that needed emergency surgery was a pulled muscle!)
Sequeena – hi sounds like you are doing well with your sons present. I would like them pans for my daughter. They look fab xx can feel an ikea trip coming on
Mandco – that’s a really good find for the onesie.
Moneymaker – like the sound of the chocolate £50 note. My son would love0 -
Just found my December 2012 Sainsburys Christmas Magazine, it's packed full of lovely things that I think I'm going to try this year. We have had a massive new sainsburys open by me in South Birmingham so I'm going down here in a bit to get a few bits and bobs for Sunday lunch, might see what they have on offer for my stash. Happy Sunday everyone!xx0
