glad its going well Bunty! Ive been a bit better on the going-back-to-school front this time, feel a bit unsettled as when I do overtime now it means I leave before the children get home (I normally pick to the eldest as her school is further away) and dont finish until 10, DH insists they are fine (as do they) as they are older now etc but for me it feels sad because Ive always been there to take them, pick them up, always been there when they get home for a sandwich and a chat - I feel sad that Im not always able to be now but at the same time I do realise Ive been very fortunate indeed that Ive worked from home all these years, and always been there - such a shame that my home working position has now dwindled down to almost nothing because of outsourcing and takeover, but it is what it is :) am adapting to it - and working on my own for so long I really enjoy dealing with customers and working with some lovely people :)

I miss my family at the weekends, but today DH came in for some bits, and then a lovely suprise my DD has taken up running so she did her run via the store this afternoon and popped in to say hello and give me a hug!

that was nice of your dd and also your DH.

when I pick my to boys up from school it is the only time I get any conversation from ds1. Once we get home that;s it conversation over!

lidl have the 1/2 price choc bars on again this weekend and that gave me an idea thinking I could maybe print some kind of xmassy wrapper for them and dd can give them out for her xmas gift or do you think that seems a bit too cheap? they do this thing where they are meant to bring in a token gift for everyone (30 people)and it gets expensive.
MANDCO i think it is a lovely idea especially as you have to buy for 30!!!!

Freespirit I can only speak from my own experience at aged 37 that my body felt it was ready for the scrap heap when I had my slipped disc. The amount of pain I was in had me feeling and walking like a woman in their 90s.Still on the road of recovery but I seem to be having good days aswell as bad where as it was just bad days before.Talk to your GP as nerve pain is a really bad pain to manage.

Sorry I have not been on in a while, had a bad week! tried to knock my pain medication off and I was completely floored. It brought me to the floor with a big black dog sat on top of me. Then to be told that I may be like this for at least 18mths or even permanently was the final blow. Im going for acupuncture next week to see if that can relieve some of the symptoms.
Got to go and have a load of blood tests done on monday morning as they think the painkillers may be damaging my liver/kidneys! This was mentioned at a drs appointment where my GP recorded our whole appointment by dictaphone. Im sure he thinks im going to sue him as he said my slipped disc was a pulled muscle. Im fed up of it all now!! sorry for the rant I know alot of you have got bigger problems xx
04624181 first of all dont apologise for rant we are all here to listen, im sorry you are still in pain it is debilitating when it is there all the time and you dont know when it will go, especially if you have been told it could be a long time before it goes, all i can say is you mustnt think that you will have it for another 18 mths try to put that out of your mind, that is enough to bring the BD back and stay with you, thankyou for your comments

I'd love to drive to our nearby big towns to shop today, but I'm feeling a bit apprehensive about driving. Someone drove into me earlier in the year and as I don't have to drive very often, I occasionally get a bit scared about getting into the car again thinking it'll just happen to me again! I wasn't hurt in the incident, but it took so much time and stress to sort it all out (when it wasn't my fault and the other car was practically fine! It almost wrote my car off!) that I just couldn't deal with that twice in one year!
ALJA its natural you feel like that, i have been in the same position and it took me ages to not panic if a car came too near on that side where i was hit, but i made myself get straight back on the road and just keep at it, eventually it will go
Princess kitty well done on the HB finds. I got :
    Nemo expandable face clothes 29p
    3 x choc face masks $2
    Mini lalaloopsy dolls 49p each
Mini moshi dûlpo figures 49p each
And a ping pong cup game $3.99
Candy necklaces in an Xmas case 99p
    Various sweets etc
Mainly stocking fillers & advent gifts. Went in the range and came out empty handed very dissapointrd as no Xmas stuff at all!
Yesterday I was able to buy myself a nexus 7 out of my business profits! It is brilliant! I am using it for business use, have all my apps on and so much easier than paper books for appointments/accounts/etc. But I couldn't resist a quick catch up!
PINKNFLUFFY some nice finds from HB if i remember right the range was much later than everyone else to get xmas bits out last year

hey guys, been lurking for ages now, I used to post but I have moved house etc and things have got very hectic. Always have time for christmas and this thread though. I was wondering what your thoughts are on me giving christmas eve presents rather than presents on christmas day. Because all of the presents that I want to buy are most suited for christmas eve than after, like christmas PJs, candle, blankets etc, and I think it is too late to use on christmas day. I want to make a sign that states they must open on christmas eve. I wont see any of them on christmas morning anyway because it will just be me and my partner then we will all meet up later. please let me know what you think. I cant afford to do presents for xmas day and xmas eve and I think it would be a nice change.
FENNA hello and welcome back, i think that is a lovely idea and im sure your family will think so too

After browsing the low cost handmade Christmas presents thread I’ve decided to make a movie box for my OH as I needed something small and cheapish for his last present. I have Graze snack boxes delivered so reused one of the boxes and made three film clapperboards featuring some of his favourite films to decorate the box. I shall then pop to somewhere like Tesco to buy some cheap sweets to fill the box and add Nation Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation DVD (his favourite Christmas film) to the box which I’ve found on Amazon for just £3.37!
STEPHYT that is also one of my favourites i have it on my amazon wish list but will look at the other two first thanks

    Back from another boot sale.
Got given a stair gate for free, it got broken in their car and they said the first person to enquire about could have it. :D the bit that had broken off has made no difference to us using it, as it is not up against a wall. It is extendable and I have wedged it in the French doors.

I also got him this for £20. It was a returned item. The wheels squeak. Bit of WD40 should sort it out.
Ds got a few more small fishing bits, but he bought them himself.
OMO glad you got some bargains there, kids were right to decide not to do a car boot this morning, we had really heavy rain

Feisty argh what is going on? Lets hope that the appointment for the MRI comes quickly now and DH can get the treatment he needs to be on the mend very very soon :) Your stall looked fab this morning on FB in its new home. Well done. It's no wonder your head is ready to expole tho. Please remember to be kind to yourself :) xxx

Princess you did well with your box/stocking filler things :)

Junior_J I shouldn't giggle I know but on morphine on the trampoline brought comedy images to my mind. Bless you you must be a very special lady to have four God Daughters already :) My DGDs loved the messy eaters specially filled with juicy pear xxx

Debndot you are doing well. I must look in B&M I'm hamper/basket obsessed :) but they sound too nice to pass on x

Lazysheep thanks for that. I was like that when I saw the Christmas trees out in Costco then the lights oooooh Christmas is coming xxxx

Linky DS did so well with his present didn't he. DH is a fisherman when he gets the opportunity and some things can be so expensive if bought new. Worth every penny for the peace I get tho :) Robbies presents look brill you did do well :) And a stair gate xxx

Sequeena I love the ikea pots and pans but think you are probably right about the toy food- unless LO decides to launch it! The projector sounds lovely, must try and get in this week for a peep. Thank you xxx

Peppapig craft fair sounded lovely and so many stalls. I think you are right tho people are looking rather than buying. Certainly in my case, I desperately need to get rid of stuff not buy more!

Money Maker thank you, really like the sound of a chocolate £50 would be perfect for a couple of my stockings :) Can't get photo to load but will look out for them this week when I'm in tesco x

Mandco Had to chuckle at your Tasmanian devil :) Think the chocolate bars would be perfect, have a look on eBay at the personalised ones for sale to get some festive ideas xxx

0462 Poor thing, back pain so awful. You really are in a bad way :( listen to the lovelies, hope something works to ease the pain and help get you through it. Have you been referred to the pain management clinic- from my experience they really do know there stuff. Rant, we love a rant here. I wouldn't even have called that a rant :) we are always here to listen, usually one of us is about for a chat, I can tell you it makes a tremendous difference :) I loved loved loved that Costco kitchen last year, I think it's actually a bargain it's so well made (better than my kitchen) I just don't have the space for it. xxx

Alja you poor thing. Would you be better if somebody was with you, to build your confidence back? It's such a shame that you get to miss out:( Did you manage to find anything local?

Pinknfluffy oooooh get you, a business purchase :) go girl. I think I will wait for a trip to the range, until somebody reports that they've started Christmas xxx

Fenna hiya, welcome back it's good to see you :) I totally agree, I'm planning on doing an advent hamper this year (planning!!!) and Christmas Eve is just the best day in the whole year, filled with magic and anticipation :) xxx

Stephyt hope you are feeling better after your bump. It is awful and does shake you up :( sending hugs. Get you already done clapperboards, you are putting us to shame! xxx

Mrs Cullen woo hoo Christmas is coming :) Been to any more gigs recently ? We've missed your updates x

Bunty so glad you are feeling brighter :) You can even tell that from your posts so well done for that x Note books I love them, it's a strange fetish of mine :) xxx

Snugglebunny how cute was that of DD? Bless :) Ooh what a good time to get free chocolates. Be kind to yourself, your children will/have adapted just means things are going to be different - don't feel bad xxx

Bunbun Glad your throat is feeling better :) Oh not surprised you aren't enjoying the 6.30am alarm, takes time to get back into routine doesn't it after the six weeks hols. Fingers crossed it goes well for DH, that would be so handy wouldn't it xx

Freespirit well my lovely, ring drs first thing!!!!! I will be checking :) and mithering till its done!
I've popped over to peep at the flylady thread, going to try and do at least the 15 min task each day. Please feel free to kick b@tt if I don't :)

Been out for BFF 50th today. Aww she is such a lovely friend of over 30years now :) Had a good day, in good company. You know how last minute I am :( made her a jar of 50 reasons she's my best friend :) very emotional to make - she'd already had quite an emotional day so is saving reading haha (if truth be told I could probably have made 100 reasons )

    Night night xxx

  • Nana that gift sounds lovely :)

For all of those inquiring about Christmas items at the range, I can confirm my local one has candy canes out - oddly that seems to be it though!

Let the week from hell begin :( Roll on the weekend!
