Bought toilet rolls for my box today. I had a choice of 24 Charmin for £7 from Morrison's or 12 Tesco own brand for £3.50.
I got 2 of the Tesco ones as we have 2 toilets and the smaller packets are easier to store. :D

:rotfl: Well I found out why my neighbour from hell was working on the disability car last night and this morning.
I thought is was weird they hadn't taken it to the garage, as they can get it mended for free.
It turns out the stupid !!!!!! bought some cheap fuel from someone and it made the car bunny hop. :rotfl:
They had to drain the whole lot and change the plugs or something :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

One really shouldn't laugh at others misfortunes :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

If ONE shouldn't laugh at their misfortunes, is it ok if five or six of us do?
  • Hi all, I haven't been able to post for a while (but i've been trying to read) as my new role has had me mega busy, and by the time I get home and i've cooked tea I haven't always felt like logging on to a computer again. I didn't realise how far behind I got! I've nearly caught up but still have a few pages to get through. I hope you're all well, and for those of you struggling at the moment I do hope you come through the other side of it soon.

Yesterday and today I had a little excitement driving to work as it has been misty and it's reminded me of frosty winter mornings. :) I am sorry to those of you who don't really like the winter, but I have to say I am much more of an autumn/winter person. For some reason on balmy warm summer evenings I often feel a little unsettled and I can't put my finger on why. But having said that it's good we've had a warm summer as I do like seasons, I wouldn't want it to be autumn and winter the whole year round!

I do love this time of year on the thread though - when everyone starts spotting the Christmas things coming into the shops and online! It's very exciting! Please keep posting any Christmas finds you see in the shops as it's not as easy for me to get to the shops as it used to be before I moved. I do love hearing about people going a bit loopy in public when they find a Christmas aisle. :rotfl:Despite being told in July that a Studio catalogue would be sent to me within 21 days I still haven't received it so have had to request it again. Getting the Studio catalogue is always the start of the Christmas things coming out for me.

Anyway just wanted to say hi  as I haven't done in a while, i'm off to try to catch up. x

NANAMIA: I got lots of cuddles last night, although she got a bit grumpy with me in the end and had to go back to her daddy. I’d made up a hamper in a dolls pram with babygrows, baby lotion, a big fluffy bunny etc. which was very well received.

PINKLADY1985: I’m sorry to hear you’ve had a tough year, I hope you and baby are doing ok now. Nice to have you here!

MARCO1DOG: See, our dog wouldn’t allow that. He’d take one toy and then manage to sniff out the other wherever we hid it. I swear he can smell things through walls and doors, especially tennis balls! I hope he enjoyed his birthday.

GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY: That’s a fantastic feeling ending up with more money that you thought!

FREESPIRIT: Good luck with the decluttering. I didn’t manage to do my full 10 items a day in August I had planned to, but I got rid of over 200 items. It does feel therapeutic and my life feels more manageable already. It’s amazing how much a messy/tidy environment affects the mind.

OMO: I’m sorry you’re having such trouble with your neighbours. I thought mine were bad! Well done for standing up for yourself, and I'm glad karma is helping you out with them haha!

All those who have been to Dunelm Mill I am very jealous of. Will try to make a trip this weekend to hunt down some Christmas bits. This time next week I'll be sat on a beach in sunny Spain! :D
  • morning all!!

OMO - wow!! good for you!, you are so brave! and no ... its terrible to laugh when somebody who is rotten to the core gets their comeuppance ... ahem *coughs*

MrsCullen you must be very proud of your DDs! know what you mean about missing them and trying to think they are nearby!

Chrissy - my dog was like that when I first left home but was fine after a few days, I visited often so she soon caught on that I would be back :-) I hope your DD is ok :-( I really feel for you and hope she settles quickly.

Thank you nanamia :-) we had a box about 3 years ago from Sainsburys, was their own brand of candy cane and they were a mix of butterscotch, rhubarb and custard and strawberry, but not seen them since, will try Asda for the Cadbury coins then, I hope they have the 'any 3 for £10' offer again this year, I went especially last year and got 3 x £6+ items for £10!

In the last couple of days Ive received my 'Christmas Magic' Yankee Tart (yummy and cinnamon-y!) I also got 2 bags of White Maltesers for £3 in my Ocado shop (DS's absolute favourite) and I also found Lotus Biscuit Spread for DH's stocking, he loves Lotus biscuits so he will love that!

Sainsbugs have Skittles all types big bags 70p at the moment, my DD loves the Sours so grabbed a couple of bags of those :-) They also have large bags of Rolos, Aero Bubbles (mint or orange) giant Milky Bar Buttons and Yorkie bites for £1 per bag, good for stocking up for hampers, stockings etc

  • PS you know how last year we were all saying that when people ask us what we would like for Christmas we can't think of anything? well Ive started adding stuff I see that I would like (or usually buy for myself) and to my Amazon basket when I see it, then when people ask me I will have plenty of books, DVD's cds, Yankee Candles etc to put on my list! Often I will buy a cheap book for DVD etc when I see it so this year Im buying myself nothing and leaving it all in my Amazon basket - you can switich it to 'Wish List' which people can then see by entering your email address I think?

I'm not sure if you can switch but it wouldnt take long just to add, didnt know if you knew but you can download a thing from Amazon and it gives you a little icon on your bar by the website address, so that if you see something from another online store you can add it to the amazon wish list. So if someone clicks on it they're taken to an external site. for example I love Rituals foaming shower gels & at £7 each they are a real treat but I have them on my amazon wish list & if you click on them you're taken to the Rituals website with the product details. So its great to have a mix on amazon & none amazon stuff!
Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:
  • Phew i'm caught up! :T

LINKYPIE thanks so much for the heads up about Christmas on the Food Network channel this weekend - I was only thinking this morning that I can't wait to start watching some Christmas food programmes so this made my morning! :j

Snugglebunny I buy my DH a bag of Cadbury's chocolate coins every year to go in his stocking as it's the only chocolate he likes, I don't often see them in supermarkets but always find them in places like the 99p store, Poundland, Home Bargains and B&M etc.

I am very excited to say I now have the tickets to the Ideal Home Show at Christmas - thanks again OMO for the heads up!! My friend is going to come down and stay with me, and once we've got back from the show we're going to drink hot chocolate and watch a Christmas film. Can't wait!! :D

Had a look and found them on Amazon - but they were £16 for 12 bags  - saying that I don't know how much they are for one bag so that may be a bargain. :rotfl:
  • Our Christmas Ideal Homes thing in Glasgow is on the same weekend as my Christmas fair, so I could go to it on the Sunday. I've asked my cousin if she'd like to come stay for the weekend, help me with the fair then I'll take her to the show!

I got possibly my best MSE part of my Chirstmas prep the other night - Brambles whilst out walking the dog! Going back in a couple of days as some weren't quite ripe enough. Hoping to make bramble gin with them.
