good start, hubby dropped his wallet on the drive when he left for work, lucky I left shortly after to drop DS so nobody else picked it up!
OMO what is WRONG with people!? I hope you get those idiots reported! Feisty - nightmare! we occasionally get it in the summer when windows open and people walk down the main road at 3am shouting and laughing at the top of their stupid voices waking everyone up! Theres a house opposite our close on the main road where the family have a grown up son (I think!) and he and presumably his girlfriend had a screaming row in the road at midnight a few weeks ago (lots of lights going on and slamming closed of windows) went on for about half an hour! then the other evening hubby went outside to get something from the car about 9pm and they were outside screaming abuse at each other again, awful language he said - couldnt see them but could hear them! why dont they do it indoors???! when he came to pick me up from work an hour later he saw a police car outside their house so presume somebody had had enough of listening to it! assume parents must be away, bet they are chuffed!
Our lovely neighbours who moved have settled in their beautiful village and we've been down to see them and spoken on phone ... our new neighbours are very pleasent but have only seen them twice since they moved in in May! they both work and I think hes away a bit, they seem very quiet ... can't really complain about that can I LOL! :rotfl:0 -
I was in Dobbies this weekend and they had a final Christmas Clearance on, last year's stock before they started getting this year's out!
They had lots of lovely huge glass baubles down from £4.99 to £1.20, I didn't get any as they weren't in my colours but they were lovely. What I did get were a few little 'bits' - a fabric MerryChristmas sign, some tartan tree bows, a tea light holder (Thought was a bargain at £1.20 but scanned at 45p) and some wrapping paper. Not that I need more paper but I justified it as it's Children's stuff as I have two new babies to buy for this year, all my wrapping paper is more grown up! It was down to 20p a sheet, but the cashier didn't scan it. I used to feel bad when something like that happened, but now I just accept it - it's their staff's mistake so their loss!0 -
Freespirit66 I will put the white ones in the bathroom that is used for guests. I bought dark red ones last year from pr-m-r- and they will go in the one that we use all the time.
Maybe the ones I picked up yesterday were old stock from last year as they didn't have much Christmas stock in. I was looking for the cushions that someone had said they had in.
It's my dog's birthday today so he is being more spoiled than usual. He had the choice of two toys today and decided he wanted the pink noisy pig. He is huge and black so looks really cute. My stepson's dog will get the other toy as it's his birthday next week. I only have two Christmas presents bought and its theirs so I had better get my thinking cap on.
We are cutting down this year as we are building a house next year and money is going to be tight. I have added it up and it still comes to £700 for all presents and food so please keep all the tips coming.Sealed Pot Challenge 1441

Pinksteps it's wonderful to see our Pinksteps returning. Well done you after such a tough yearHow is it going with the builder/decorator? Think I've missed an update on your DS. How is he doing? Eagerly awaiting the start of strictly? xxx
Yes DS is eager for the start, sad really as he has not been dancing for nearly a year now. We are just waiting for leg splints to be cast and made then he will be allowed to take them off for a couple of hours a day (as long as he keeps them on overnight). He is now being assessed for Sensory Processing Disorder, tad late at sixteen!
Builder/decorator no show and as it is my mother paying I'm a tad stuck. I have a new sofa being delivered today and units Thursday and they have to go in the room that needs decorating.
I read on another site that the whole situation in Syria will have a know on effect with oil prices and even winter strikes. I hope I find my candles and mittens by then.0 -
Have finally plucked up the courage to go to the docs. DH is going to come with me. We are convinced I am a sufferer of PMDD, and it is starting to make our lives unbearable. I saw a doctor last year but he dismissed it as nonsense and said I was just "down". But I know this isnt normal, most of the month I am an optimistic, bubbly person who loves and savoirs every single moment with her wonderful family. But 5-7 days before Im due, every single month, I turn it psycho !!!!! from hell, I am insecure, argumentative, depressed, lethargic, I over eat, Im paranoid, Im sick and bloated, and I put my wonderful dh through absoloute hell, and even though I try to tell myself its in my head, I cannot stop or help how I feel. And then, as if by magic, the day or day after I start, I return to normal. We have been convinced for a few years it wasnt normal and just pmt, but recently we came across PMDD and we are both convinced, the description could have been written just for me, of the 12 symptoms (5 or more of which indicate pmdd) I suffer from 11 of them, every single month. I am terrified of being shrugged off again, but more than that, I am terrified of loosing my family. Im not a bad person, I know it isnt "normal" I just need to find a gp willing to listen and help me.
Sorry for the rant, I just needed to write it out and pluck up some courage before docs on Thursday. It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -
Right, that's it. The decorating is being done by me in the spring, can't have doing with relying on others. Besides its going to get in the way of my festive shenanigans !0

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
I am calm.
Got a letter from the doctor asking me to go in for a blood test.
I phone them back, ' I had the said blood test last Wednesday.'
' Oh yes, I'll put you through to the results nurse.'
Results Nurse
' Yes we have your results, but you will have to have the test done again as the nurse didn't put your date of birth on the blood'
' But you know it was me, you wrote to me, and I have phoned you !'
'Yes, but we can't give these results out. You will need to have it done again.'
Back to receptionist
' Can I make an appointment for a blood test next Wednesday morning please'
' We don't take blood on a Wednesday.'
' You took mine last Wednesday, but no D.O.B was put on them'
' No we didn't, we don't take blood on a Wednesday'
' Before you accuse me of LYING again, would you like to check my notes  '
' Oh yes, you did have them taken last Wednesday, that's what happens when you let someone unqualified take you blood. They muck it up :rotfl: '
' I did not let someone unqualified take my blood, YOU DID '

Well, had a huge result yesterday.:j
I am involved in something which requires cash to be counted and our cash counting machine has been playing up for months, so the decision was made that it go to the great counting machine in the sky, new one delivered yesterday. Training needed and as the person in charge only wanted me involved with the training (the others make it far too complex!) with her, had to arrange to have some time off work. My mind went into overdrive, phoned her and said I have a box of 50p & 20p pieces, could I take it with me, would kill 2 birds, we could use for training and I would get my money counted - response - fab idea. Been collecting for some time, so thought there may be couple of hundred £! Tipped into a bag to take with me and decided there was a bit more than I thought.
Decided I would not get involved directly as I wanted the final number to be a surprise and goodness it was - all £586.22 of it:j No idea where the rogue 2p came from!
I was gobsmacked, then had to think about banking it, wondering how many visits to the bank it would entail as my bank only takes 5 bags at a time, only for her to say,"my bank will take as many bags as you like, I'll bank it for you and write you a chq!" Well, I was beside myself, have written a cheq for the use of the machine (think it will go towards new bus they are raising money for) and now need to think of something as a thank you for my banker:rotfl:A smile costs little but creates much0 -
