random question but i wondered is there anything that tastes a bit like jack daniels that i could put in vodka to flavour it? or a cheap spirit that mimics JD's? Just my dad is GIVING US A CAR!!!! (just a banger but even so!) he has replaced a mirror and put 6 months tax on it for us aswell so i thought id try and make something jack daniels like. I cant afford to buy him a bottle, the cheapest is £13. Or any other suggestions of something I can do for them? I don't drink so have no idea what JD tastes like or anything else for that matter lolEverything is always better after a cup of tea0

Oh my word, just been cheered up a little! The perfume oils have arrived and, what can I say, Christmas smells wonderful:D
I had a very apologetic email yesterday from the ebay seller. She sent them to me a couple of weeks ago, but not from her usual po and the silly person behind the counter somehow managed to get them posted back her rather than me. They were worth the wait.
Hope everyone ok, think I will start wrapping over the weekend and get some of that out of the way.A smile costs little but creates much0 -

I loveThe Great British Bake Off. I've set it up to record every week.
Thanks for all the congratulations on my new job.
Got a day off today so I'm venturing into that scary place also known as the kids bedroom! Need to do a good sort out of the toys. If I don't get rid of at least half the stuff in there, there won't be any room for Santa to bring more! DD (3) is normally quite a good helper although I'm not entirely convinced she understands what happens to the toys that go in the bin bags. I'm sure she thinks it's a game to see how full we can get the bags! :rotfl: DS (6) on the otherhand is terrible. He moans about putting a car that's only got 1 wheel left in the bin. "But I still play with that one mummy, it's in the garage getting fixed!"
That is adorable! :rotfl:
Chirpychick I love JD but unfortunately I wouldn't know what to flavour vodka with to make it taste like it. Hopefully some other clever person on here will know!0 -

any help with this?
Im making a christmas eve box for the kids there will be 5 boxes but in total 10 children. so far in it i have (i say so far but i mean in my head)
cookie's/cookie mix for santa cookies (and some for them)
snowman soup
penguin drops
reindeer poop
reindeer food a carrot
elf sticks candy canes
magic santa dust pixie sticks
reindeer dust oats and glitter
flight before christmas dvd
bubble bath
letter from santa
popcorn
toothbrush
then i was going to try and do a poem basically saying this
Make cookies, then have a bath, sit down with snacks
and a drink and watch the dvd, sprinkle the reindeer dust
and leave out the carrot for the reindeer, cookies on a plate
for santa (with his favourite drink) brush your teeth and
get an early night
do you think this is ok?
I could have included a book or pjs but im about at my budget.Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -
Your Christmas Eve boxes sound great chirpy. I think that's ample stuff for them, but if you feel you would like to add soemthing else to it you could always print some Christmas pictures from somewhere online for the kids to colour in and just put a cheap pack of colouring pencils in. There must be a website where you can download colouring in pictures I would have thought? I'll try and investigate later. But I think you've already got plenty in there for them.0

chirpychick, I have stolen the whole of your christmas eve hamper idea except the dvd will be Elf as my 6yo finds it hysterical.I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

 I sometimes wonder why I bothered putting all those links on the first 2 pages. :rotfl:

I've had the idea of doing a craft hamper for my bff for Xmas. I've always loved cross stitch and card making and just recently she keeps turning up at my house to root through my stash to make some herself. If anybody sees any crafty bargains I'd be grateful if you could let me know.
Thanks.
