Hi all! I have been readin every day and jotting comments down but keep running out of time to post! Anyway here goes:
msmoo so sorry to hear about your break up, I hope that you are both able to work it out amicably and that you can see this as a new beginning. x
Good to hear from you snugglebunny! Well done on the extra part time job, visit us again soon!
nic2075 keep your chin up, I don't like falling out with people either, it unsettles me. I hope you can work something out soon.
Lina T congrats on your win! What a bonus! :T
Gettingtherequickly sorry to hear you've had to postpone your holiday, it's really diasappointing when you've been looking forward to soemthing. But as you say, at least everyone is safe and it's better to stay that way.
CHRISSYG glad to hear your dd's op went well, hope she recovers quickly.
Hello to cheshirekittycat and susan42
Feisty I'm really sorry to hear things aren't improving yet. Why on earth do they keep cancelling his consultations? That must really put you on edge!0 -
I popped into Home Bargains the other day and got a few more bits for Christmas; some hand cream for my mum, some toys for my shoe boxes to go abroad, and a beautiful magnetic bookmark for my friends book hamper for 10p! There is a £10 budget for her hamper so I love finding bargains like this to keep the cost down even further!0

Hi hohohonathansmam, it's not all strictly 'book' related - it's more like a 'curl up with a good book' hamper, so i'm putting in:
A book
A bookmark
A clip-on book light
A blanket
A wine glass
A mini bottle of wine
A bar of chocolate
I am making a smiliar one for another friend who says she only has time to read when she's in the bath which will include:
A book
Bubble bath
Mug
Hot chocolate
A candle
A bar of chocolate
If you wanted to keep it more book related then a few books could go in or a book token, and as above a bookmark, clip on book light etc. I'm sure other lovelies on here will have lots of other ideas, or there might be a 'book hamper' in the list of hampers on one of the links at the beginning of this thread.0 -
Got a second chance offer on eBay today. Went to buy it to discover it had been sold to someone else.
I really hate eBay at times. Am just being mucked about so often on there at the moment.

Hi all
Thankyou so much for the well wishes, means a lot. xxx Things are ok here, a bit of yo-yoing emotions and tension as OH (will just call him that for now, hard to break a habit!) is still living here. Feel really bad that we havent really done much this summer hols and poor DS was so upset when I told him about us splitting up, what a crap summer hols for him.Trying to be positive that there's still nearly 3 weeks left so Im going to write a list of things to do. Am not on the ball with my list making lately, not like me at all! DS has already made a list which mainly consisted of making things so cheap at least lol.
Feisty-Oh they are messing you around so much, I do feel for you both.Hope the hospital gets their act together soon!! xxx
what a shame gettingtherequickly, hope everyone stays safe, xx
Glad your DDs operation went well CHRISSY. xx
Lovely to see you around Snugglebunny, congrats on your new job. xxx'They only had one cow!'0 -
In Poundland today (the Bury branch) in the sweet section on the bottom shelf they had a bag of assorted christmas kids sweets (think candy bracelets/stars etc) big bag, and a chocolate santa (small) in a box with marshmallows - both reduced to 50p. Worth checking in yours in case this is national.0

I have to admit I do have a lot of fun buying for all the kiddies.I have 30 to buy for too. People make fun of me for planning so far ahead but none of them would be getting any presents otherwise. Tempting sometimes to just get everyone socks
I know! I have to start in August otherwise they'd all be getting poundshop pressies as that would be all I could afford!
I had a look last night at what I have already picked up through the year and to be honest I think my sisters are done. I'm doing beauty hampers for them and they practically have a full box each. Just need to get the hamper boxes to put them in. My kids stockings are also practically done. So I feel a little better now.
I got a new job too which is a lot more money. I start on 2nd September at a chartered accountants in Chester. Really looking forward to it. I've been getting more and more stressed in my current job working until 10pm at night some nights logged in from home because I can't fit my work into my normal hours! This new job came out of the blue really. Called recruitment agency in the morning, they asked me to come in at 2pm to sign up with them, on the way there they told me they had an interview for me at 3pm, at half 5 they called me to offer me the job!
My current manager has offered me more money and different hours to get me to stay but I told her it's the stress of the job that's causing me to leave not the money. They're really panicking about finding somebody as daft as me to put up with everything they want them to do! Also for the last 6 years I've worked all over Xmas and this new company shut down! Xmas will be even more special as I'll actually get to spend quality time with the kids and dh. Our wedding anniversary is Xmas eve and we haven't been able to celebrate properly for so long. I'm so excited.Savings Account - £0.00

Congratulations on the new job :j I love having Christmas Eve off, although I rarely get the whole day off. I am hoping to get away at 12 this year. So not to bad. Finish at 12 first glass of Baileys at 1. :rotfl:0 -

Thank you. Yes I'll be the same except I prefer Dooleys to Baileys. Although it's quite hard to come by these days. :-)Savings Account - £0.00
