  • Hi all,

I have been looking for cello packs to make Snowman Soup for the girls at work.
I had looked for disposable piping bags in £1 shop... No success.....

    But found.............

    25x Clear Conical Cellophane Cone Bags - 15cm x 30cm
    Sold by JEMPAK UK® £3.48

On Amazon. this s inc P+P.!!!!
Really happy with these and hope someone else may find this useful.

The girls at work think I am mad to have my food shopping list written for Christmas. We have a 3 course family meal on Christmas Eve (for me, DH, 3 adult kids and my parents) which consists of recipes I have never tried before.
    All sorted :)

    Excited... Moi.....Deffo :)
Start by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible:j
Christmas is not a time but a state of mind :xmassmile
Trying.....Very trying- as my DH would say
    Loving de-cluttering

Freespirit we've been mucked about by the hospital again. The person that did his ultrasound said he needed emergency surgery as the fluid has settled around his liver, but the hospital keep cancelling his consultations (to formally discuss the ultrasound results and to arrange an op date) so his latest one is the end of October! Worried sick is an understatement at the moment :( I can see it spilling over into Christmas too which is pretty much devastating me right now :(

Thankfully only 4 kids not including my own to buy for. I used the MSE argos tool to find bargains in my local shops so have managed to get all 4 gifts for around $35, actual retail price approx £100 so I am happy with that.

 WHAT MSE ARGOS TOOL ? I want one !!!:rotfl:
OMO glad you have decided to go camping after all, you will get everything sorted in time with your organisational skills :)

The trailer got emptied and I got a porta loo ( £50 ) . So I feel a little calmer now. Also found out there is a Tesco superstore in Saxmundham, so we can go shopping when we get there rather than take all the food with us.
God knows now we are going to get it all in the car. I know ds' friend is driving up in his van with ds, but I don't want to give home too much, as we can't take make him come with us every time we go. :rotfl:
I keep thinking it will all fit in my car and everyone else keeps laughing at me. I am very good at packing so my mission is to proof them wrong. :D

Then when we get back it will be time to start my Christmas shopping. Every week I add something boring to the normal shop. That way at Christmas I have enough toiletries and cleaning stuff, to see us into February.

  • Ok, I need mega cheering up. I have just had to cancel the cab I had booked to Heathrow for my holiday :( Why couldn't they wait in Cairo until I got back before they kicked off?

Anyway, I have to be realistic about things, spoke to family there yesterday, they live in Alexandria, so also badly affected and they told me not to go yet, just rebook in a few weeks when things have calmed down. It puts everything into perspective, media can only do so much coverage, but it is the ordinary person who bears the brunt of it. They are on a 7pm to 6am curfew which is very restrictive for a city that does most of its socialising at night. It was one person's birthday yesterday and everyone was going to her mum for dinner, all having to stay the night, which would be loud and fun, but when you consider that her brother, sil & littlies live 5 mins from mum, it does show the impact of the restrictions. Her brother was sent home from work yesterday at 10:15, should take about 1 hr, it took 6  At least they are all safe which is the main thing.

On the plus side, it means that I can now sort out making my Christmas cakes, if I sort out getting everything this week, I can spend bank holiday making them, if only British Gas had already introduced free electrickery on Saturdays already, I could bake then for free!

Got another couple of bits, fab jacket for nephew, I think thanks to someone here, if it was you, huge thanks, reduced on M&S outlet on Amazon from £37 to £14. Think I may start wrapping this weekend, now that my boxes are being shipped to Egypt, I actually have a bit of space in my spare room again:rotfl:

Oh No gettingtherequickly, how disappointing for you.

Hopefully when things have calmed down a bit you can reschedule but from someone who has been stuck overseas in the middle of a military coup with no way of getting home, you are wise to wait.

DD's op went well yesterday , she was 1st on the list and we were on our way home by 1pm.

The staff were amazing they had obviously read her notes about her autism and had a private room waiting for her to use rather than sitting with the other families, it made a huge difference as she gets worked up in crowds and noisy places.

Ive got lots of ideas for pressies but im waiting until she is at college at least then there's no Spanish inquisition about every parcel that's delivered !

It's strange how asd effects people differently isn't it. My ds doesn't take the slightest bit of notice of parcels. He doesn't even bother about wrapped presents lying about.

ETA glad the op went well :)

Forgot this was happening, glad it went well.

  • Feisty, think you need to start letting them see that you live by your name! How annoying that something they deem as urgent can wait that long, must not be that urgent, but why tell you otherwise, increasing your stress levels will only make things worse for you both.
