Congratulations on your new job! xx
Ooh thanks. I never tend to go in Asda as we have a Tesco closer but may have to make the extra journey now. It's delicious toffee vodka. You must try it this year. xxHanley congratulations on the new job! I also work at an accountants (AAT qualified, working towards my ACCA). I'm considering jumping ship as well because, although I like my job and my colleagues, I know I could get a lot more money elsewhere. I feel like I'm still on apprentice wages. Planning on buying my first home next year so the extra money will be needed.
Leaving it until after Christmas to make a decision though.. hopefully I'll get a payrise.
I haven't had a payrise in 3 years. Another one of the reasons I'm leaving. I'm also AAT qualified. Hoping to start on my ACCA in the near future. Was quite surprised at how low my wage was compared to what other companies were offering when I started looking at new jobs. We own our home (mortgaged) but it really is too small now there are 4 of us and kids are getting bigger so hoping to put the extra money into doing up this one ready to sell in the next couple of years.Savings Account - £0.00

Then when we get back it will be time to start my Christmas shopping. Every week I add something boring to the normal shop. That way at Christmas I have enough toiletries and cleaning stuff, to see us into February.Gettingtherequickly wrote: »Ok, I need mega cheering up. I have just had to cancel the cab I had booked to Heathrow for my holidayWhy couldn't they wait in Cairo until I got back before they kicked off?
At least they are all safe which is the main thing.
I was just talking to DD1 yest saying i hope you havent gone out there, it is frightening, she is desperate to go to the pyramids and cairo etc but i wont let her book anything, glad your family are safeDD's op went well yesterday , she was 1st on the list and we were on our way home by 1pm.
The staff were amazing they had obviously read her notes about her autism and had a private room waiting for her to use rather than sitting with the other families, it made a huge difference as she gets worked up in crowds and noisy places.

Oh glad it went well for DD, nice to have lovely staff

At the moment I am remaining out of it as DH is getting annoyed with me threatening to intervene, formally complain etc. They have until Monday and then that is it, even if it causes a huge argument I'm stepping in![/COLOR]2024 Challenges

I AM MORE EXCITED ABOUT THIS THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW!!!! :T:T:T
I am literally counting down the minutes - it's my favourite TV programme!! :j:j0 -
Saw the advert for bake off this morning and I think that I might watch the whole series this year. So the freezer has packed up this week, so weird dinners all round, so if anyone sees an upright freezer for dirt cheap let me know hahaha
I hate not being able to use smilies anyway must get dressed for work will check back in later xx0 -
ooh love the sound of these! May have to make my mum one now. Thank you for the ideas
I received my Studio catalogue today, even if I don't end up buying anything from it, it'll certainly help with that festive feeling!
You're welcome.I'm really hoping my catalogue arrives soon, I must have requested it about a month ago.... I don't always buy from it but it's been a yearly tradition from when my mum used to get the ACE catalogue when I was little to have a look through every year.
Hanley congrats on the new job! You are right to move from the stress, it's really important to get a work/life balance and a bonus that you'll be earning more money!
Hello chirpychick! Great to hear all is well with you and little Franklin - doesn't time fly?! Good luck with the challenge. I know it can be a pain but perhaps someone might sell one of the M&S stockings on ebay? Peop0le might buy new ones and sell the old ones nearer Christmas.
Hello BETTYSPAGHETTI-13, sorry to hear you had such a bad year last year but well done on keeping it all together. I hope the next year is much better and brings good things!
Feisty you are right to intervene if nothing happens, I know your DH won't like it but needs must sometimes!!!
I have never tried Dooleys before, i'm not sure i've heard of it? I still have some Baileys in the cupboard from last year! Although me and DH are trying for a baby now so staying off the drink. x0 -
I loveThe Great British Bake Off. I've set it up to record every week.
Thanks for all the congratulations on my new job.
Got a day off today so I'm venturing into that scary place also known as the kids bedroom! Need to do a good sort out of the toys. If I don't get rid of at least half the stuff in there, there won't be any room for Santa to bring more! DD (3) is normally quite a good helper although I'm not entirely convinced she understands what happens to the toys that go in the bin bags. I'm sure she thinks it's a game to see how full we can get the bags! :rotfl: DS (6) on the otherhand is terrible. He moans about putting a car that's only got 1 wheel left in the bin.
