chrissy - glad your DD op has gone well

fiesty - They so annoying. I don't think they can work out to prioritise patients, its not just the investigations its the stress waiting. think it was you who mentioned the snowman window. I been working on this, what a good idea

OMO - I `m a fellow ebay hater too , i have spells where I try then get frustrated and dont do anything for ages. I bought one thing for 99p off one seller, now they email me numerous times saying look at this.

MsMof one - so sorry to hear your news, I`m sure if you spend more time with your DS it will mean more than anything you could buy

Fatb&w - thanks for that tip, I also seen some lovely little bags with footspa in. There were 3 things including a pedistone thingy. thought they were excellent for a £1. They had 2 , one was a bit cheap looking but the other one looked expensive

Hanley - congratulations on the job, well done you not putting up with awful conditions

I went to the Matalan sale today 70% off, when I got to the till things were reduced further, got some lovely bits for xmas
Challenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income
  • Hanley25- I saw Dooleys in Asda the other day, I remember thinking its rare you see it these days. Ive never actually got round to trying it, maybe this year! :) Congratulations on your new job! xx

susan42-Thankyou. x I agree, we're not ones for expensive things or days out, good old fashioned quality time is precious. :) Today we've built a den and after dinner we're going to have a movie night inside it. (well I dont think Ill fit but Ill have a good go lol)

    Hi EVERYONE!!

Guess what?! Franklin is 8 months and 2 days old now  He is crawling and cruising, saying muma and dada and "uh" (bella) for the dog lol.

I have a facebook group for everyday frugal living and heard about this woman who didnt buy anything new so, I took on a challenge on 12th August to not buy anything new for a year! I genuinely thought it would be so easy but boy was I wrong :rotfl: when it comes to Christmas Franklin is almost sorted and very easy to buy for 2nd hand but nobody else is

I have no idea how i'm going to manage this challenge when it comes to Christmas so I have come back here seeking support and ideas :)

my saddest thing is that I really wanted to buy Franklin a m&s stocking (they're lovely and luxurious) as his one to last him until he is grown up so i dont know how im going to manage to get a 2nd hand one! I hope I do though!

How is everyone? Are your organised?

Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Feisty I hope they stop messing you about at the hospital. Feels like you have to fight to get an anywhere with the nhs sometimes!

Hanley congratulations on the new job! I also work at an accountants (AAT qualified, working towards my ACCA). I'm considering jumping ship as well because, although I like my job and my colleagues, I know I could get a lot more money elsewhere. I feel like I'm still on apprentice wages. Planning on buying my first home next year so the extra money will be needed.

Leaving it until after Christmas to make a decision though.. hopefully I'll get a payrise.

My 2 never had stockings. I cut their names out of felt and glued/stitched them onto a red pillowcase. They are tied at the top with a piece of gold ribbon. We still use them now. They are never full, but the kids love them, as they know nobody else has one, and they look like santas sacks.

Eta - I put their presents in them. They don't have a sack if stocking fillers. Lol

Hi hohohonathansmam, it's not all strictly 'book' related - it's more like a 'curl up with a good book' hamper, so i'm putting in:

    A book
    A bookmark
    A clip-on book light
    A blanket
    A wine glass
    A mini bottle of wine
    A bar of chocolate

I am making a smiliar one for another friend who says she only has time to read when she's in the bath which will include:

    A book
    Bubble bath
    Mug
    Hot chocolate
    A candle
    A bar of chocolate

If you wanted to keep it more book related then a few books could go in or a book token, and as above a bookmark, clip on book light etc. I'm sure other lovelies on here will have lots of other ideas, or there might be a 'book hamper' in the list of hampers on one of the links at the beginning of this thread. :)

ooh love the sound of these! May have to make my mum one now. Thank you for the ideas :)

I received my Studio catalogue today, even if I don't end up buying anything from it, it'll certainly help with that festive feeling!

Came across this kids market stand while looking through the new Ikea catalogue. I absolutely love it. And for £10 I think it's a real bargain.
