happy birthday daisiegg:bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake:
take no notice of all the anti teacher comments. my OH is a teacher and whilst he jokingly says teachers are a strange lot he does get cross when people make comments about teachers especially about the amount of holidays. teachers work hard and it is a hard job being on your feet all day they need the holidays to recharge their batteries. I am sure most of the comments are due to jealousy!
well my christmas 2013 shopping hasn't got off to a very good start, the works in town didn't have the peter pan book:( will have to try elsewhere.
our tree is still up. we had a real one this year and I am going to get value for money:rotfl:saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

Re other threads and people/teachers comments - one thing Ive learned the hard way about threads and forums, is that there are people out there who have strange obsessions or fixations about people or groups of people, and will go for the throat of anyone who they perceive as not agreeing with them. Im a fan of a particular sports person, and have noticed if I ever read an article about them for example online, if you scroll down (I no longer do this!!!) you will see the 'comments' area, and some people are poisonous in their hatred of this person, they don't know them of course, but its quite frightening how you see the same comments (ie the same people posting under different names) I dont let it upset me any more, I just try and not read them. On Twitter people will send horrible comments, and I think 'why follow him if you dislike him so much, what a waste of energy!'
Ive also had hair raising experiences amongst groups of fans, who rather than having a shared interest, actually hate other groups of fans and try to make out they are the ones the group/band/person 'knows' or 'likes best' its really startling the things you see and hear online, I try and avoid forums at all where possible, I have friends on another music website who I have known for years, but other than that I try and avoid elsewhere other than here!!!
I helped on a fansite for a band, and the jealousy amongst 'rival' groups of fans was like nothing Ive ever seen, some 'groups' of fans would actually badmouth other 'groups' of fans to the band themselves!!

My gosh this thread moves fast!
Went up town yesterday and got some Christmas pressies in the boots sale but totally forgot to go to the card factory!! Am so annoyed with myself, I wrote a list but left it at home,( which is why I forgot) will have to pop back to the shops again sometime , but I really resent having to pay to park!
Sunnglebunny8 I am also a worrier but if I had nothing to worry about I think that would worry me more IYSWIM, I think it focuses my energy lol!GC September £69.64/£2000 -
Happy Birthday Daisyegg, hope you have a lovely day - ignore comments about teachers. I still remember my great teachers from secondary School, those who made an impression that will last a lifetime for me. The one's who weren't so great I can't remember. I have 2 little ones at primary school and my smallest "loves" her teachers, every day she tells me how much she loves them, and she tells them too, I imagine that makes the hard job they do worthwhile to have a 5 year old tell you that.
Well still not ventured out to the sales, thank god, as boiler packed up yesterday, was playing up all over christmas and finally gave up last night - am really peed off as will cost a bloomin fortune, that we dont have, to fix. I wouldn't care but it cost an arm and a leg and isn't that old. We are well wrapped up today and off to my mam and dad's tonight to have a bath! Thank god it isn't freezing cold!
Big hugs to everyone who needs them xxx0 -
Hi all, just finished sorting out sale items for Christmas 2013 ready to put up in the loft, and making a list on the laptop.
Happy Birthday daisiegg!"We have to be kind because everyone is fighting a great, great battle" - Sir Richard Attenborough

Shellieholly- we had PP at 04.00 yesterday morning due to DS3's temp and cough. 05.30 today! so I know how you feel!
Thanks, it's no fun is it Rosygirl. However after just 2 doses of the Antibios the temp is down she is running around pulling ornaments off the tree, scoffed a bowl of weetabix, pasta, toast, chocolate, 2 beakers of juice, ... and I think I can safely say we are on the mend.:T She is currently hunting her "two shoe" down so we can go get some 80 litre storage boxes from B&M. I'd prefer to go to Range but as the car is on its last legs that just too far.
Found some underbed storage for the littlest cotbed. Having to order it in from tesco though. Part way through sorting youngests... yay!:D

:rotfl: oh I so know what you mean!! I swear with me its become a habit, and now I wonder what i should be worrying about!!! Im almost afraid that if I worry too much about something happening I will make it happen ... it's wonder my poor kids are sane isnt it???!! :rotfl: when they all came back in yesterday and saw me sat on the sofa looking worried (situation normal) and the engineer still here, DD went 'code red! code red!' and backed out the door, thank heavens they can laugh at me!!:rotfl::T
