  • :jExcellent news on the paypal with that hamper fiasco! :j

OMO - book to read hamper ideas. There is a publisher called Choclit - not sure what their titles are but they do all sub-genres of romance (vamp, historical, fantasy etc)
Supposed to be Weigh in at sw tonight as our usual wi falls on NYD, not sure if i'll go. Shattered and its a dark wet flooded road.
I've convinced myself out of it :/

back from town...with more wrapping paper. unfortunately it is still 6 rolls for £1 in our card factory but still a good price. I got some tags too.

I also got 2 yankee candle sets (candle and shade) so that's 2 presents sorted.

pinknfluffy I am going to put the yankee candles in a hamper with some non Christmas smelling candles and anything else I think of at a later date. would your mum like anything like that?

i am making my cousin's 6 year old daughter a hamper with a scrapbook kit as the main item. I am making her a movie hamper for Christmas.

However I haven't a clue what I will get my own two boys:rotfl:

ruth honey do you have any links for the free kindle slow cooker books? I have looked on amazon but can't see any free ones.

ruth honey your slow cooker meals sound yummy. I will have a look at the kindle cookbooks - thanks for the info. we got rid of our slow cooker but we have a slow oven on our range cooker which OH uses alot. we seem to have alot of milk at the moment (boys getting up too late for breakfast) so will see if I can find a recipe for rice pudding

Would they eat chocolate & orange rice pudding? I can post my recipie for you if you like.
It was pudding rice, caster sugar, chocolate powder & juice & rind of oranges (could probably leave this out or use orange juice anyway). If you need quantities, let me know & I'll find the book.
    Happy birthday Daisiegg! :bdaycake:

Happy birthday, Daisiegg! Hope you're having a good day.

I am SO sorry! There was 4 books free last night, but now only one.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/FAST-Recipes-SLOW-Cookers-ebook/dp/B0087PWYXQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1356883836&sr=1-1

I put 'slow cooker' in the search in the kindle section, then changed the relevance drop down menu to show price low to high. Keep checking as they might have them free again.

    100g/4 oz pudding rice
    1.1 litre/2 pints milk
    50g/2 oz chocolate powder
    50g/2oz caster sugar
Grated rind & juice of 2 oranges

    Low 4-5 hours
    Method:
Lightly butter inside of stoneware bowl
Place all ingredients in the bowl & stir (heat milk first, remember)
    Cook as recommended

I will say again, it looks totally vile, but tastes nice. Haven't had rice pudding in sooo long.

I'm being a proper domestic goddess this weekend. Got a cake in the oven & chocolate brownies to go in after that. :) Better freeze those I think or they'll be gone within a few days. :o
With that and the rice pudding yesterday-plus helping peel veg earlier-that's my cooking quota done for the month! Lol!

don't worry one is a good start. I only got my kindle mid December and am still learning. I didn't know there was a kindle section.
