I really want to make it to the sales today, fingers crossed! The sad thing is that we live a 5 minute walk from the high-street that has literally hundreds of shops on it!
All you fitbitters, can I ask is this a fitbit Ultra?
http://www.johnlewis.com/231760860/Product.aspx
I found an actual ultra on amazon for £63 (incl shipping) but I have a £50 john lewis voucher, which would mean I'd only need to put £30 towards it - BUT I want to have the amazing one that weeclick is talking about as it sounds fab!
I have the ultra, its not the newest one (doesnt have silent alarm etc) but for what it does is more than enough for meAww thank you for the happy birthdays, you are all lovely
I have woken up feeling really down for some reason and I just read something on another thread teacher bashing and, I know I am stupid, but it's made me a bit tearful! :rotfl: doesn't help that on Friday I sat in a taxi for 15 minutes while the driver, after hearing I was a teacher, ranted and raved. Why do people think it is ok to be so horrible about teachers?
Anyway, I am sitting in bed while OH makes my breakfast and I have a huge pile of presents to open and a lovely theatre trip later to look forward to - yet I am all weepy! But coming on here and seeing all you lovely people remembering me has really made me smile, thank you :j
Firstly HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Secondly please ignore those comments I have nothing but respect for teachers and the tough job they do!Fitbit question, for when I have it up and running tomorrow. Can it sync with more than one device ie I have a mac laptop, iPad and iPhone ( I know very un-mse ). Will I be able to access my profile on say my phone when out but update profile on laptop? I'm confusing myself here!!!!! What I'm trying to ask is can the profile be accessed like say a Faceb00k profile on different devices.
Now if anyone can understand this please help yourself to. Some chocolate as a reward!
Theres an app for your phone which you can use but you need to sync it on the laptop (or pc) but as long as you install the software it will sync to as many pcs as you want! I use the app on phone throughout the day as a rough guideline and aync on laptop when I get home from work - let me know how you get on tomorrow!Life is what you make it.0 -
Happy Birthday Daisiegg!
Hope you have a lovely day and get very spoilt!
I braved the shops, and bought a few more Christmassy bits - bit annoyed that the things I bought in Sainsbury's the other day have been reduced AGAIN! DD2 is mad about owls (and Boris Johnson, but thats a WHOLE other thread!) and I bought her a snuggie with the Owl & the P -cat on for Christmas. I then bought her a musical tin that had been reduced to put back for her birthday - today I managed to get a purse and keyring that had gone down to £1.50. Just need to hide it all now!
Also got me a custard jug that had gone down to £2.70 as I want to shamelessly steal this idea once my crocheting improves...
I'll have to upload a photo once I've done a bit more - and I've worked out how to get them off my camera!
15 crafts for 2015 challenge.

Hi
Please fone feel down Daisiegg - I know alot of people think 'teaching' is easy but I know it is not. All i wanted to be was a teacher but when I did my placements in a school at uni I learnt fast that it was not the place for me. Ok it was a high school and the kids really did not want to do PE but the lanuage I recieved.......it was enough for me to quit my course and do something else. On the other hand, I really would not like to be a primary school teacher either these days with all the pushy parents and the things you read in the paper about parents threatening the teacher......goodness me where has the respect gone??
Many of my friends are teachers, mainly high school. One had the inspectors in the week before xmas, she was up till midnight most nights getting work marked and sorted, up early at 5am to finish the work all that week. She has two little ones too so I have no idea how she fits it all in. My best friends hubby is also a teacher at year 10 and above and the amount of work he does in the evening is bonkers. I truely believe it is a 12 hour day job x 5 days. My friends hubby says he tries and does everything in the week so the weekends are free for my friend and their son but there have been times when I have been round and he is working. Oh and then there are the trips away.....! Without teachers.....we would be nowhere you do a great job and do not get paid enough in my opinon. Chin up and ignore the horrible people.
On another note.....I have just brought a slow cooker....never had one before and I am all excited as Santa forgot to bring me one (how many hints can a girl leave to her hubby??) Does anyone know any good websites for receipies?? Done nothing towards Xmas 13 yet, I dont know how some of you can plan so far ahead! I am struggling for my friends birthday on Jan 16!!!!!
Happy Sunday everyone....Mrs bunny xProud mummy to an amazing 8 year old!0 -

Good news, PayPal have sided with me over that bloomin hamper fiasco (on the grabbit boards) and they have recovered over a hundred pounds. So now I don't feel so bad about the cheery-up spend that I done on the boux avenue sale0

Happy Sunday everyone....Mrs bunny x
We have just got a slow cooker. I asked Santa very nicely for one & I must've been a good girl this year. We've got the Cookworks one that's £11.99 in Argos at the moment (it's got some very good reviews)-thanks mum!
Last night was my first attempt at using it. I made a chocolate & orange rice pudding from the recipie guide that was included. It looked vile, but tasted nice enough. Maybe a bit too much liquid, as I like my rice pudding a bit thicker, but not bad at all for a first bash.
It made enough for two bowls each as last nights tea & enough for a small bowl each as dessert later today. This morning we have put the ingredients in for a beef casserole type thing. Beef skirt (tesco butchers), spuds, carrots & parsnip. Used a sachet mix that we had in the cupboard for the sauce. It'll be ready for tea tonight. :T
Someone suggested to me this website for recipes. http://www.slowcookerrecipes.org.uk/
There's also 4 free slow cooker books for the kindle (you don't need to own a kindle to read these. You can view them on a pc)
Went to Dunelm on Friday to have a look at the sale. There was loads of stuff I was eyeing up before Christmas, but it's already all gone. Should've ordered on the first day of their sales & got it delivered, I guess. Never mind. I can live without it...I just wanted it!
I'm already thinking I'm going to make my Pots Of Christmas (or something similar) an annual thing as people seemed to like them. Shame I only had one scratchcard winner (£1-my hubby), but it was fun to add those.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
