04624181-Sorry you are in so much pain.I've always had a stocking since I was little, my mum still does mine. I've always done OHs and DS' stockings, theres lots of things you can put in. The stockings are usually from PoundShops or Wilkinsons etc! OH usually gets toiletries, cheap blurays, cheap gadgety thing, socks, energy drink, sweets, cracker, crisps, fruit and other bits and pieces.
Julie6-Lovely blanket!
Freespirit-I usually write my reply in Notepad then copy and paste onto here, that way you can save it and come back to if if you havent got time to finish it and also just copy and paste it you you lose your reply!Gorgeous cards!
Aw Harpers lovely Ameyturtle.
Thanks for all the dental well wishes! It was only a consultation phew. And the dentist was wonderful. So calm, gentle and honest! Have hit a hurdle as I am needle phobic (IV mainly) and you can only have the full knock out gas at the hospital, the dental surgery can only give you a milder form that will just take the edge off. Id need 2 lots of IV sedation too.:( He was very kind and unlike most health professionals who have said to me things like it only takes a minute, get it over with, have emla cream so you dont feel it etc (just doesnt work like that with a phobia!) he didnt force the fact and completely understood. I have an appointment anyway for 2 months time and am going to book a GP appointment to try and tackle the issue. Sorry to go on about it, just fed up of this phobia.
Need to really crack on with christening planning, (thank goodness its just our outfits and presents to sort, dont envy my sister having to do the whole thing!) I need to get DS and OHs outfit plus presents. Ive already got my niece a silver cross and was thinking of getting my nephew a personalised blanket. I was going to attempt personalised cushions but with only a month to go I know its just wishful thinking lol. Ive already got 3 dresses to choose from for me(2 were presents though and one £4 from charity shop!) but still not 100% happy with any
and OH tried on about 10 suit jackets in the charity shop yesterday (so all different makes) and all of them were like 3/4 sleeves on him!! Think his broad shoulders are the problem so might have to just go for shirt and tie. DS is definitely wearing a suit though, he could use it afterwards for Doctor Who dressing up too.
Just need some money and I can actually buy them! :rotfl:

moneysavingmumofone, the doctor should be able to prescribe you diazepam (or similar) to take before the dental appointment. Just stress it needs to be a strong dose or else they try to fob you off with just a small amount
I have finally taken the 'professional' photo's for the new postersRather than bore you with them all, I will just show you my favourite

Thanks for this Feisty - have added the suggestions included on the blog to my 'Christmas ideas' list. If any of you inspiring Christmasers on here can add some more themes for the jars - I'd definitely welcome them. I'm fine at making stuff but not so hot and having the ideas in the first place. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Evening all.
Been a quiet but pleasant weekend here. Friday was an early night as I was a bit naughty and went for a drink after work on Thursday night with some colleagues who were visiting from another city - I haven't been out in ages and very rarely go out/drink, but when I do, I have one drink and "realise" (i.e. convince myself!) that I miss going out and, most importantly, miss having a dance, so I invariably become to the one to convince everyone to stay out, keep drinking and dancing the night away in a club at 3am! Normally, as it's once in a blue moon, this is fine, but it coincided with me having back to back meetings of a very important nature all day on Friday and boy did I suffer for it!! Cups of tea kept me going and I made it - at least until 8pm when I hit the couch and promptly fell asleep! Perhaps silliest of all was when I got in at 4am, made myself a drink...I was sat with my legs up on the sofa, glass in hand and the last thing I remember was reaching for my contact lens case with my other hand and then I woke up to the feeling of juice spilling ALL over me. I assumed I'd just that second nodded off but when I checked the time it was 5.30am! I'd somehow been flat out sleeping for an hour and a half with the juice clutched precariously in my hand. One of those moments where I was VERY glad no-one was there to see me!
Yesterday I built some new shelving/cupboards for the bedroom to free up some drawer space. Still have loads of housework to do as a result (piles of misplaced stuff everywhere!) but sorted through lots of things yesterday. Had hoped to get a bit of shopping done to boost my Christmas prep but can't seem to spot anything in the online sales. I got sent two Glossyboxes this month (on a 3-month trial) I emailed straight away to tell them but I'm hoping they let me keep the second one though as the boxes are really useful for storing odd bits and pieces in! Either way there's some lovely bits to put away for my mum and sister for stockings at Christmas. Meal plan/prep also done for the week, so now just time for a cuppa before bed!
Harper is adorable Ameyturtle, have complete pup-envy!
Have a lovely week everyone!0 -
