Finally a physio appt for monday afternoon!!!
Thank god that nurse is actually spot on at her job!
Am now waiting for a chat with my doctor as I am on
    2 x 30mg of codeine 4 times a day
    2 x 500mg paracetamol 4 times a day
    2 x 200mg ibuprofen 4 times a day
    1 x 100mg gabapentin 3 times a day

I rang and asked if I could up the gabapentin by another tablet as im still in a great deal of pain and the gabapentin is specifically for the nerve pain( well it was made for people with epilepsy but its been found to be fantastic for people with nerve pain and Im not epileptic)
When I was in hospital they said they would start me off on the lowest dose of it and they would adjust it accordingly. After asking the receptionist to see if I can up the gabapentin the dr has written me a perscription for -
30mg/500mg of cocodamol which I can take 2 tablets of 4 times a day!
Its 30mg codeine to 500mg of paracetamol which I already take!
Have double checked it with the pharmacist who confirms that it is exactly the same thing!
Now had to ring them back and tell receptionist that it is exactly the same thing and can I up the gabapentin! so exhausting sometimes! feel like i am constantly on the phone to the dr!

Anyway on a different note! Do any of you have a christmas stocking tradition? I want to start it this year where we all have a stocking that will be hung on the end of our beds so that when we wake up christmas day morning we can just have a calm 10-15mins snuggling up in bed and unwrapping our stocking pressies?
What kind of things do people buy and how do I make the stockings really personal? We have some small stocking that I hang every year but they will be no good for what I need them for so we will need new ones x
    Hope everybody is ok xxx

Grrr typed a big reponse to everyone and Internet keeps dropping.

Short version - Still in hospital. Had a bad reaction to the morphine/gas/something and haven't been able to stop vomitting (sorry if TMI) eat, drink, sleep until 2 days ago.

Now I am REALLY on the road to recovery and I am hoping they let me home this weekend. Xx

Best of luck with your doctor issues!

I've sort of started this with OH. We spend Christmas apart with our respective families, so have a "pretend Christmas" together shortly before where we exchange our gifts to each other and do something nice. Since we moved in together I decided it would be nice to have stockings too, so I bought a couple of just small ones and arranged that at some point on Pretend Christmas Eve we would each creep out of bed and fill the other's stocking with small treats, such as sweets, a single-serve bottle of drink, a couple of small inexpensive gifts and that sort of thing. Then when we woke up we can cuddle up in bed opening our stockings together first.

I originally did it because he had stopped getting a stocking at home (whereas I still did) and so I wanted to give him one, but if he was getting one then so was I!

You could customise stockings so each person has their name on it and a different design they choose? I don't know what ages it's for but if possible maybe each could decorate their own stocking?
  • i've always done a stocking for dh lol at first he thought i was mad but the last few years he's done one for me too.. usually has a theme around it (last year was coffee, year before was xrated.. not decided on this years) dh has a santa bag really other than a stocking but last year i put one of the black bah humbug hats on it. worked quite well!
