thanks kayleigh - I didnt know you could do that for students, will be useful for when DD goes to uni so I can do that for her

Your very welcome, just go to your local Customer Services Desk and they will sort you out. I think you can only put money on them there aswell and not at the checkout but you will need to check with the SA. The design of the cards has baked beans on it, although this may change over time.

JJ - that table runner looks really different and pretty. I would say go for it, be a talking point if you have guests over for dinner.

OMO got some cute little baskets yesterday for £2.49 and they are an ideal size I think sadly I don't have a link for those

    Gosh you're a busy bunch! :D
We too are hunting plastic storage, underbed ideally but no higher than 17cm or it won't fit without having to lift the cotbed. Looking for "stow away in plain sight boxes/baskets that are no more than 27cm x27 cm. Swimming in toys and stuff loads I want to get onto ebay but that in itself is a massive planning job. Toddlers are so demanding. ;) By the end of the day I can't be bothered to list it.. endless cycle. :( DD2 is ill at the minute..has been for the last 3 days - high temp/fever doc claims its viral but I am getting to the end of my whining-proof tether. You can only fill a child with so much Calpol/profen
Found the crochet hook purchased 2 years back- still in it's packet. Good intentions... surrounded by them! Decided I need to tackle one room at a time. Managed to sort DD1's before the other fell into the clingy whiny state.
Ever so frustrating, feel like I am going to miss my "organise" window! Uni starts again shortly, as does the new business, I'll spend all my creative time writing, I almost resent it.:D
In the past I have made art/note books from scratch for my sister. & an unintentionally themed hamper for my cousin. So this is my aim this year, more personal that way.
I'd welcome ideas on how to send something to my family in the states thats a bit better than a calender :D

    Afternoon Everyone.

I too have decided to stop being a lurker and join all you lovely organised people :)
I dont want to be rushing about next year like i have been this year, I got married in sept so all attention and finances went on that and then was DD 2nd birthday end of sept so xmas kind of sneaked up on me this year!
But i have vowed to not let it happen next year, I have been reading this thread over last 2 days and you all seem lovely and have some brilliant ideas.

Im currently feeling a lil down as i have had that horrible flu bug in the run up to xmas and then i contracted Hand, foot and mouth disease on boxing day! I went to see doc to have it confirmed and he said he had never seen it in an adult and was quite cheerful and intrigued about it! I dont know how i never slapped him, here i am in pain covered in blisters and he is over the bloody moon!!!! Mind you this is the same doc who told me i was overweight 4 months after giving birth lol He was lucky to be still breathing on that day i tell ya :rotfl::rotfl:

Anyhow a big hello from me and im looking forward to getting to know you all

    Lollie xxx
ps my birthday is Jan 15th

Ment to say, Hubby has just had HFM disease, (via my toddler that collected it at dd1s school.) I feel your pain! It is rare for adults to get extreme cases of it, most of us just put it down to "cold" because we have been in contact with it so many times. Hubby doesn't have the immunity - him being american... so it wiped him out in true man-flu style ;) Hope your feeling better really soon.

Asda also do parent / student cards. They are by the check outs with the leaflets about insurance etc.

  • JJ the runner is so pretty! and of course you must miss him, they are part of the family and I know I would be the same as would anyone with a missing pet, I read about a comedy of errors where somebody thought a cat was a stray as it kept turning up at their house, took it in and fed it, kept it indoors as weather was very bad .. then one day let it out, cat then went 'home'. But the 'new' owner (or so she thought) went looking for it and put up posters thinking her new pet had gone missing, whereas there were already posters up from the actual owner, which the 'new' owner hasnt seen!! guess its so easy for that sort of thing to happen, please don't give up, I know it msut be terribly hard and upsetting, but hopefully he will come home soon x
