Afternoon Everyone.
I too have decided to stop being a lurker and join all you lovely organised people
I dont want to be rushing about next year like i have been this year, I got married in sept so all attention and finances went on that and then was DD 2nd birthday end of sept so xmas kind of sneaked up on me this year!
But i have vowed to not let it happen next year, I have been reading this thread over last 2 days and you all seem lovely and have some brilliant ideas.
Im currently feeling a lil down as i have had that horrible flu bug in the run up to xmas and then i contracted Hand, foot and mouth disease on boxing day! I went to see doc to have it confirmed and he said he had never seen it in an adult and was quite cheerful and intrigued about it! I dont know how i never slapped him, here i am in pain covered in blisters and he is over the bloody moon!!!! Mind you this is the same doc who told me i was overweight 4 months after giving birth lol He was lucky to be still breathing on that day i tell ya :rotfl::rotfl:
Anyhow a big hello from me and im looking forward to getting to know you all
Lollie xxx
ps my birthday is Jan 15th
Hello and welcome lollie79
Dd had HFM when she was about 2, Chicken Pox at 4 and her first bout of Shingles at 6.
I really feel for you.
When dd had it, Foot and Mouth was about and everyone thought she was dying. I just used to wait for peoples faces to drop when I turned down invites, with ' Oh Sorry, Roo has hand , foot and mouth, maybe we can meet up next week.' :rotfl:0 -

I just got a fitbit yesterday! I got the fitbit one which was £80 but it was my Christmas present to myself seen as no one else bothers :rotfl:. I absolutely love it! It was brilliant looking at it this morning and seeing how long it took me to go to sleep, how many times I woke up and the silent alarm will be really useful too.
I just wish the rain would beggar off so I could get some exercise in, I normally clock up 10 miles a day but the rain isn't very encouraging!Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0 -

you couldnt write a script for this ... walked into DD's room to open her curtains when she was in the bath and realised carpet wet, another damned radiator gone! thats three in 3 weeks! literally just suddenly start leaking madly with no warning and some kind of pinhole develops?? not too much damage to dining room ceiling, carpet wet and stuff on floor all soggy - they came out and drained it, ordered a new one, the house is only 20+ something years old, they shouldnt all go like that surely! they keep saying its corrosion cos theyve been going on at us to have a system flush which is hundreds and hundreds of pounds and we are having it done when we change the boiler, but my neighbour warned us she had it, and they next year they were on at her to have it again and the water in the rads was every bit as mucky after a year as it had been after 17 years!! I have a real worry of water damage and am always checking radiators and water tanks (I sound so neurotic!) and I also have a real anxiety about having people doing stuff in the house - OH took kids out while guy was here and he wasnt great, kept tutting and sighing and grunting to questions, am thoroughly stressed out now! they need to fit a new rad next week, am scared the other 2 upstairs radiators that havent been replaced will suddenly go as well!!! ARGH!!
Oh Snugglebunny. that really is a pain in the rump for you. Fingers crossed that the other rads are ok. xx0 -
You will LOVE the fitbit - I lost 4lbs last week with it and that includes over indulging in chocolate in the build up to christmas!! PM me when you get up and running and I can send you a link to my profile if you want to be friends and encourage eachother along
Yes, I shall most definitely PM you. I have a shameful amount of weight to lose. We can be there for each other. :-)0 -

Thats the very letter we got this morning! I was more angry than scared especially around christmas time (I work in a "not so nice" business involving finances and we aren't allowed to send out such threatening letters in the weeks of christmas even though thats our job!!) It was easily sorted the old company took a note of the fax number and our policy number and said it would be faxed over in 5 minutes, phoned the new company to make them aware and advised that they maybe try a better tactic than threatening people at christmas especially when the fault seems to lay with royal mail not delivering the original letter we sent, on saying that I bet they are too impatient, havent allowed for christmas delays and it turns up at their office next week! :mad:Jump in all you like chick, that info is great. Definitely think I'll look into these, but may have to do a bit of saving if they're £50 +
Think of it like I did, its the same as buying 3 lots of chinese takeaways for us lol.I just got a fitbit yesterday! Heres my profile if you are wanting friends http://www.fitbit.com/user/23XNSZ Im always on the lookout for people and love cheering everyone on (and how lovely to log on and find people overtaking you so Im quickly running up a flight of stairs to get up the leaderboard lol) I bought mine as a present to myself too as well as buying bfs! First thing I do in the morning is sync up and see what sort of a sleep I had! Ive went within a week from wakening 15 times a night down to 3 or 4 on average I think! Also interesting to see how quickly it takes you to fall asleep too! We had planned a nice 4 mile walk today but the storm and wind and rain put a halt to thatLife is what you make it.0 -

does anyone know anything about the Sainsburys savings card? have wondered for ages if they do one but never seen it, saw the Asda one mentioned above and wondered if Sainsburys do something like it?
Did a quick search on Google and nothing comes up with what has been explained previously. The only thing that they do is aimed for University students living away from home. The process is there are 2 cards linked up to one account. Parent has one, student has the other and the card can be loaded with money for student to spend on groceries.:heart2: Self confessed Disney Freak:heart2:0 -
Right, I NEED a fitbit
I'm at a good weight BUT we are considering IVF next year and I want to be as healthy as possible. For all of those that have the ultra one, do you need the bands or anything to get it to work? I'm eyeing some up on ebay, one is second hand but with wrist bands and USB cables, the other is just pictured in a box with no detailing. I don't want to spend X amount on something I think is a bargain, only to find out I need to buy extras to get it to record sleep details. I'm hoping this will tempt me back to the gym
I have filled out the calender with all birthdays and dictated to DH that we will now be shopping at Tesco for all groceries and petrol. Have calculated we 'should' have almost £200 of reward vouchers if we do this. Which we will then exchange for pressies etc. Have also told him that our new grocery budget is £45 incl delivery. Anything under that, the excess gets put in a separate account. When shopping is over £45 then the money from the 'extra' account will be transferred back. I'm hoping we will have enough for Christmas and money towards our deposit.
Also told him that from now on he is to take a packed lunch to work (which I offered to make) and use his water bottle for drinks. He has been spending an absolute fortune on snacks without me knowing![/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Yay I've found you all again
My Birthday is 4th September
Well I'm quite relieved it's all over. Christmas day was horrible without Dad, I cried quite a bit. Everyone was really quiet, it was so obvious that Dad wasn't in his usual seat cracking jokes. I'm very glad that this Christmas is out of the way and this year is nearly over.
Present wise I was absolutely spoilt rotten! Lots of lovely gifts all very useful and lovely.
Got quite a bit of money so have spent it in the sales buying everyones Birthday and next years Christmas presentsFeeling rather MSE
Also used my boots points for some free gifts
Got some bits from Boots, Sainsbugs, Whittards and BHS.
Got myself a few clothes bits from New Look, so that should be it clothes wise for this year.
So now I can concentrate on saving up some money including budgetting for Christmas and Holidays. I also think I'll do the Morrisons saving stamps as that really helps.0 -
thanks kayleigh - I didnt know you could do that for students, will be useful for when DD goes to uni so I can do that for her
thanks JJ fingers crossed! I was just clearing out some stuff and found a very small damp patch of carpet in our room by the rad and nearly cried ... turns out when I went out when DH got back, he helped the gas guy to bleed the radiators and he did the one in our room and some water went on the carpet which he forgot to mention .... thank God!!!! LOL, blimey Im so conscious I sound like such a neurotic bag of nerves!!!!
I mean to say Ive still got everything crossed for you for the new year that Turbo will return to you safe, I keep hearing more and more stories of pusscats who turn up after weeks, so am sending lots of positive vibes in the hope he will be home soon xxx0
