Afternoon Everyone.
I too have decided to stop being a lurker and join all you lovely organised people
I dont want to be rushing about next year like i have been this year, I got married in sept so all attention and finances went on that and then was DD 2nd birthday end of sept so xmas kind of sneaked up on me this year!
But i have vowed to not let it happen next year, I have been reading this thread over last 2 days and you all seem lovely and have some brilliant ideas.
Im currently feeling a lil down as i have had that horrible flu bug in the run up to xmas and then i contracted Hand, foot and mouth disease on boxing day! I went to see doc to have it confirmed and he said he had never seen it in an adult and was quite cheerful and intrigued about it! I dont know how i never slapped him, here i am in pain covered in blisters and he is over the bloody moon!!!! Mind you this is the same doc who told me i was overweight 4 months after giving birth lol He was lucky to be still breathing on that day i tell ya :rotfl::rotfl:
Anyhow a big hello from me and im looking forward to getting to know you all
Lollie xxx
ps my birthday is Jan 15th0 -
Decorations down! having spent the week with sick children and family not wanting to join us to celebrate xmas its just not been the same so i'm glad they've all come down for another year. Bedroom is nearly back to normal.. Just need to sort dd4's toys out when shes in bed. Shes not eaten or played with anything for two days poor thing, so trying to tempt her with anything and everything!
Sorted out the pressie cupboard, got a few bits that have gone back in there from this year we'll use next year.. Got a few bits from the sale so far.. its starting to look rather good! i've decided that one evening a month i'll wrap the bits i've bought that month and just tick off my list what i've got people.. i want to get some of those large zipable washing/recycle bags to keep the girls gifts in.. not going ott next xmas though!
Foods been sorted that has gone out of date or funny (only salad stuff really and some sausage rolls) fridge is looking more normal again lol. Got the last of the turkey to use up tonight that i haven't frozen.. then go shopping for a few bits for our new year meal... we're having a hog roastso will cook up some baguettes for tea to have some of that in too. Think im looking forward to that more than i did xmas dinner this year lol.
Totally debt free wohooo 2014

Just as a heads up - I complained my delivery was late with Tesco and they said they'd refund delivery charge - told them I had a prepay thing so they still gave me a £3 refund.
Thought I'd mention it as I know others use the pre-pay service and wouldn't think of mentioning it.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

so this morning I've been to the vets, Charlie has been repeatedly sick over the last week, vet has said it is reflux so he has got zantac to take to ease it, so he is my club of having to take indigestion tablets just so you can eat something.
have also been to home bargains, aldi, boots and Iceland this morning, have got some good bargains will give you the full run down when I'm on the lappy, got a few pressies to put away :T
also sorry for the late post I did start it before all the shopping but after the vets
love and hugs xxx
Hope Charlie is ok! never thought at looking at home bargains for sales mainly because its out of the way and would require a drive, did you find it worthwhile?Just not been motivated today. Onesie arrived for DS next christmas and still tempted to order some folding bikes so that will be main pressies out the way. Then i can concentrate on saving and slimming! That's the theory anyway. Not sure how healthy my parents will be next christmas so thinking of making them a rug or blankets during the year. Shall give it some thought. As for the sales, 'twas a tad naughty and treated myself to some knickers from boux avenue. Something to reward myself if I manage to lose some weight.
Now I need to de-clutter this place and make it look somewhat habitable.
Our fitbits are wrapped for a little new year gifts, one each for myself and DS. New year eve we are going to have a treat of a cooked chicken from the supermarket to make sandwiches (a last supper) before our healthy new year. I will then give DS his fitbit so we can start together New Year's Day. I'm looking forward to this more than christmas
You will LOVE the fitbit - I lost 4lbs last week with it and that includes over indulging in chocolate in the build up to christmas!! PM me when you get up and running and I can send you a link to my profile if you want to be friends and encourage eachother alongI don't think the weather helps with motivation Pinky. It's been bucketing down here all day. I had planned on going out and having a mooch again today, but the weather was just too awful. What are these Fitbits? Are they like a pedometer? I could do with something like that myself.
Welcome aboard kayleigh_x
Hope you dont mind me jumping in here - fitbit is so much more than a pedometer lol. It does measure steps etc but Ive got the fitbit ultra which measures steps, distance, stairs climbed as normal but also tracks my sleep so tells me whether Im getting enough quality sleep or not! (which believe it or not an extra 30 mins makes a hell of a difference!) For me its also a mental thing because I know its always on me Im constantly wanting to move more - for instance on 27th I had to go to get a bag of sweets to finish off nieces sweetie tree (birthday present) I could of went to the local garage (5 mins walk away) or could of drove to town instead I decided to walk to town and clocked up over 7 miles walking! As mentioned above I lost 4lbs during the build up week to christmas and thats a miracle in itself! You log everything on a website (plug the fitbit into a usb port) and keeps track. If you are on myfitnesspal (free) you log your food there and the two sites sync up and tell you how much calories left you have to eat for the day which changes depending on the amount of walking / exercise youve done - the more you move the more you can eat. I cant rave enough about itLife is what you make it.0 -
I'd love a fitbit but £50 eeeeeeekkkk.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0

The one I have is retailing at £79.99 plus delivery at £5 but got 2 on ebay for around £46 each including postage! For us its worth it (Ive still 5 stone to lose and bf has 9 stone to lose on top of the near 3 stone we've each lost so far) normally I wouldnt spend so much on an item like that but it really is worth its weight in gold if youve a decent amount of weight to lose - just have to keep remembering Ive only 9 months to get into the bikini! lolLife is what you make it.0 -
weeclick I feel for you, we had exactly the same issue this time last year, fully paid policy for both cars with new co, sent the correct letters proof of ncd, then had to get copy sent as seems they were lost somewhere (despite being delivered by recorded) and kept crossing phone calls with nasty letters, one actually said 'we will cancel your policy in 7 days time' but the letter was sent before Christmas and we got it 8 days later! was totally panicked and they werent very helpful, however more phone calls had crossed in meantime and they've received it, was not happy!
you couldnt write a script for this ... walked into DD's room to open her curtains when she was in the bath and realised carpet wet, another damned radiator gone! thats three in 3 weeks! literally just suddenly start leaking madly with no warning and some kind of pinhole develops?? not too much damage to dining room ceiling, carpet wet and stuff on floor all soggy - they came out and drained it, ordered a new one, the house is only 20+ something years old, they shouldnt all go like that surely! they keep saying its corrosion cos theyve been going on at us to have a system flush which is hundreds and hundreds of pounds and we are having it done when we change the boiler, but my neighbour warned us she had it, and they next year they were on at her to have it again and the water in the rads was every bit as mucky after a year as it had been after 17 years!! I have a real worry of water damage and am always checking radiators and water tanks (I sound so neurotic!) and I also have a real anxiety about having people doing stuff in the house - OH took kids out while guy was here and he wasnt great, kept tutting and sighing and grunting to questions, am thoroughly stressed out now! they need to fit a new rad next week, am scared the other 2 upstairs radiators that havent been replaced will suddenly go as well!!! ARGH!!0 -
welcome newbies and delurkers!! lovely to have you here
does anyone know anything about the Sainsburys savings card? have wondered for ages if they do one but never seen it, saw the Asda one mentioned above and wondered if Sainsburys do something like it?0 -
Yes they are pedometer but with added extras and goals. I'm sure someone will explain more as I've not used it yet.
You are right about the weather etc, I had so much planned today and done virtually nothing. Actually it's very odd, I came over quite ill just now, still shakey and feel like I'm having a cold sweat. Asked DS for a cup of coffee and his wise words at 15 was "menopause". Omg I do hope not !!!
Lol. Cheeky monkey.:rotfl:
Hope you're feeling ok now chick.
I'll have a looking online for the Fitbit, sounds like quite a good gizmo.0 -

Jump in all you like chick, that info is great. Definitely think I'll look into these, but may have to do a bit of saving if they're £50 + :eek:0
