  • Evening everyone,

NANAMIA how awful for you to have a panic attack on the plane, it must have been very frightening

RISKYB i have subscribed to your blog, the recipes look fantastic

OMO is it me or are you having trouble racking up nectar points on the nectarads site, the first couple of weeks i had no trouble getting to 250 then each week it has just gone down and down, this week i have only been able to rack up 49 points

I have spent today watching programmes i have recorded on my sky+ as we are cancelling it tomorrow, i love my tv and films and know i will miss it, but at £53 a month we just cant justify it anymore, then next thing when my contract ends i am cancelling my mobile phone contract and just buying a sim only deal, that will save about £25 a month, hopefully, then in may when contract ends on my broadband and homephone i am changing that, we pay £40 a month with BT and i have seen a few cheaper ones, i think i can half that, then we have virtually MSEd everything, food shopping, bills, the lot. I have got so much information and tips off of this site, it has helped so much!:money:

Linky see you are living up to your name as always:) wow you've done so well planning your trip. I'm ashamed to say I've only been to London twice - once as a little girl and remember very very little and once as an adult trying to negotiate the tube with a two year old, buggy and luggage in tow on my way to visit in Crawley :(

Been spending a lot of time with my DDSiL ooh how I missed her. She is doing so well, pushing herself everyday and getting stronger by the hour:) It has been wonderful to sit and chat, drinking coffee and catching up with her:) Physio visited her at home on Friday and have come up with a care plan that's gonna soon get her walking again. Can't wait xxx

Moneysavingmumofone I've missed you and have been thinking of you, I'm gonna have to trawl back and see if you've been to the drs!!!

Freespirit it was very frightening but I think more for my DH :( bless him, the things he has to put up with. Although I think it's pay back time cos it appears he's coming down with a very serious case of man flu. Ha

Riskyb I'm not very adventurous food wise but your you kno what is amazing. I've loved reading about your Christmases :) well done.

Still trying to catch up. X

Last Saturday night - the last night of our trip we went for drinks and a game of pool to one of DS neighbours. A lovely evening by all accounts anyway I'm rambling music was flowing etc time to change the cd and our lovely hosts let DGD1 choose and you wouldn't believe but she put on Slade Christmas song :) course it brought tears to my eyes. xxx

Well here goes :) mammoth catch up complete.

Bunbun you know we have "rules" on here, pop in to say hi. I never have anything useful to say but I do like to chatter. Hope DH is feeling a little brighter. X
Chrissy you are doing so well dd birthday all done and so far in front with your Christmas pressies. Well done you.
Trendyjenny I hope you are doing ok and have been knitting. I think doing a few minutes of something you enjoy does lighten your mood. I tend to bake, at least I'm in control of my kitchen :) xxx
Icemice I'm glad you are back we've missed you. I had to chuckle about your DHs card, I got one in 1997 (I think it was) and I've framed it. Ha. X
Island Mum congratulations what wonderful news, we love a new baby on here. And I'm glad you decided to go on the hen do now, you could probably do with the break and "me" time before your littley arrives :) x
Princesskitty your trip sounds wonderful, very action packed xxx
Jakesbakescakes I was let down by Tesco too. So rubbish isn't it!
Scottishminne please don't ever feel you've nothing to add. We chatter and support each other, just pop in and say hi :) chatter is what we do best:) x
Opee92 how are you doing my lovely. Hope you are coping and awaiting the arrival of your little prince with a smile:) xxx
Ameyturtle you poor thing. Oh my word have you been having a tough time:( sending big hugs and hoping things are picking up for you xxx
Moneysavingmumofone I've caught up and well done you for braving the dentist. I really truly know how hard that was for you. I wish you lived nearer and I could be of more help to you. As previous lovelies have said there are options to make your appointments easier so hoping you get fixed up :) Now my lovely as for your dr, words fail me. Do you have another GP in the practice you could see? Or maybe ask to be referred to the dermatology dept? Please don't withdraw because of this, you are such a kind caring loving person it makes me so sad to hear :( xxx
Feisty I've had a thought re my paper cut but I'm mulling it over at the mo. will be in touch soon. Do you think 28 years it too late for a belated wedding present to myself? :)
To our wonderful blushing brides (Caitlyn and Princesskitty ) I hope you are not stressing too much and are really looking forward to your big days xxx

This made me chuckle!! There was certainly no car park shenanigans (unless you include where the thoughtless and crap photographer decided to take the pictures!) I meant b!tch!ng but the filter got me! Just the bride's older sister really, nothing's ever good enough and she acts as if the world owes her a living. For example, if you're taking your kids to a wedding (5, 9 and 12) you'd probably automatically think of taking some cereal bars or another snack because you know how it is with weddings. You hopefully wouldn't march up to the bride (your little sister) after 5 minutes and go "When exactly will lunch and dinner be because my lot cant wait around all day, we'll go to Burger King now if it's going to be longer than half an hour". I felt so sorry for OH's little sister, she was bossed and bullied all day - even down to what time they chose to do their first dance ("Why 8.15 and not 8.30? 8.15 is a stupid time!") OH and I spent most of the night avoiding his older sister and coming up with strategies to make sure she doesn't ruin our day in a couple of weeks!

Sorry to hear about the flight back Nanamia. My sister has terrible panic attacks and it drains her so can only imagine what the anxiety and the jetlag is doing to your body clock! Do take it easy. Wonderful to hear about your DSiL, she's been in my thoughts while you were away.

OMO your post about the driving license made me laugh - that's exactly the type of thing I do! The other day I told my team to use this new form I'd spotted, to ensure payments were made to suppliers, thinking I was being really helpful and ahead of the game and they looked at me blankly and explained it was exactly the same form they'd always used, they'd just photocopied it on to blue paper as they'd run out of white!

Going to do some tidying today then getting on with my quilting. Am making a very ambitious star quilt and I may be slightly out of my depth

Are there any books/blogs you could recommend for a beginner? I've fancied quilting for ages and often do a bit of research then feel overwhelmed and give up!
My clumsiness strikes again! Was dying my hair and managed to get a great big splodge of it on DH light grey hoodie.

Oh no! I've done exactly this...about 8 times!!! It feels awful at the time. My OH used to think my clumsiness was endearing, not so sure that's still the case! :rotfl:

Well done on your blog riskyb, looks fab so you deserve all those likes!
  • Caitlyn that is terrible :( Is she related to you in any way? I think I would cry if I knew she was coming to my wedding. I have very bossy family members, but none of them are rude enough to do that on my big day :( Can you not get someone to have a word with her?

Nana, I don't think it's ever too late for a wedding present to yourself ;)

Well I have woken up feeling a lot better then I feared I would today. My OCD had me cleaning up after everyone left at just after midnight so the flat isn't fairing too badly either :) Was a wonderful night and for the first time ever DH actually got involved an enjoyed himself! Have realized just how much I will miss my friends if we do move an hour away. One of them forbade it last night, she soon changed her mind when I said there would be plenty of room for a sleep over ;) Have arranged a repeat evening next month, trying to squeeze in as much time with them as possible just in-case.
