    Xmas Saver!
DDs school opening at 11.20 today. Luckerly she can walk in, but they never give any thought to the parents who have to drive their kids in and get to work.

Still can't decide whether to go into work today or stay later tomorrow. Think tomorrow may win as it will save petrol, but it will make it a long day.

More snow here too but no sign of school closing.... will have to traipse 20 mins through the snow (each way!) to drag em in!!!

The snow has reached us in the north east. Unfortunately the boys' school is open but OH's is closed so he has taken them to school. If he wasn't home I would be saying "have the day off", i hate driving in snow. we live at the bottom of a hill, OH managed to get the car up but i can hear cars struggling to get up.

    stay safe and warm.

namamia that is a lovely photo, please post more.

    feisty enjoy your day off

  • vistaprint have just sent me an email for free items - so i now have a canvas bag, a pen, a mug & a t-shirt all with a simple love heart design & a suitable stroppy teenage message such as "Yeah I'm 13 - So what?" & dd's name, ready for the 13th bday hamper i'm doing her, all for the bargain price of £4.95 (postage)!!
Expecting a delivary today - but guessing it wont arrive, snow still coming thick & fast here, and all local schools closed - much to kids' delight!
have a good day all, and stay safe cos "baby its cold outside" !!
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.
  • We had loads of snow yesterday, its all stoped now but we had an email last night to say both dds schools closed due to snow. Mind u, I did guarantee it by doing the ironing and making lunchbox lol!

Dh has gone to work. Hopefully the girls will play nicely. I'm going to get on with some housework, very dull.

I really want to look through all our wedding pics on disc and decide which to have made up into photobooks. But its a mammoth job as my bro and my friend did the pics so we have nearly 3000 to go through.....

    Nanamia, that pic is gorge!

Stay safe everyone in the snow xxx

  • Hi all, I haven't had chance to post yet this year, I tried galliantly to catch up but now it's at 77 pages I think I need to just post and catch up with you from here! I hope you're all well and 2013 is being kind to you so far. I'm sorry if it's not and i've missed anything, and sending you some hugs. I have tried to get some sort of list going for Christmas this year, although as i'm getting married in March that is taking priority somewhat! I did buy a few things in the sales but to be honest I didn't have much motivation to get to the shops this year, usually I love having a mooch around in the sales! I have decided to do my one friend a chocolate hamper as she loves it, and I have 'The Chocolate Lovers Diet' book for it so far, so I need to get the other one to go with it. I do remember last year on Let It Snow some people talked about chocolate scented toiletries, can you remind me of where you found them?

Sorry, i'm sure you guys have all chatted already about your plans for this Christmas! :o
  • princesskitty I love the Chocomania range at Body Shop, its gorgeous, scented like chocolate truffle, the lip balm is fantastic as is the body wash and butter.

msgigglewick you sound so caring, it must be very hard for you all with her being the way she is, you did everything you could but sometimes you just can't do anything more, I grew up with a chronic alcoholic father and I know how manipulative and also how horribly unreasonable they can be - there is no logic to them at all sometimes and they have no thought for anyone else - it can be very hard to deal with them, if you ever need a chat just pm me, or post in here. I worry so much about silly little things too, Im trying to tackle them head on, now if Im worried about a bill or something, instead of getting stressed about the post coming, I ring up and check the balance or amount so I already know what it is - hence sorting the issue of the post ... am determined Im not letting my anxiety get the better of me this year if I can help it!

Last night was checking the websites for the schools, local council closures etc and the weather sites, trying to work out if the schools would be closed, thankfully first thing I got texts from them both saying they were closed today, plus back up emails - all the schools here are closed but I feel sorry for the A level students as they all say 'come in as usual for the exams, leave plenty of time' poor things! DD had 2 exams today but they are GCSE mocks so they can rschedule, now we have to go through it all again tomorrow morning! I hate driving in it as people round here drive right up close to your bumper if you try and drive slower on the snow, idiots!
  • oooh Jenny, that reminded me! ive got Ferrero Rocher, After Eights, Quality Street, Celebrations and Cadbury biscuits all hidden away form Christmas! had forgotten, they will do nicely for Valentines Day!
