  • ty for the messages about dd3, we' re all getting there.

routers here! finally...all set up and mostly working lol

dd' s have all decided they NEED new mobiles... gives me all year to save up i guess. not sure two of them will last till xmas though.

csa been in contact again, silly dh' s ex has decided we wasn't paying enough so wants paying through them instead...what she won't expect is us telling the csa we have 4 children here so thats deducted from the figure they originally came up with oh and the fact shes been reported for fraud since her oldest son informed us last july he completed all forms of training with the job centre. so as far as we know hes not been in education since then. yet shes been claiming everything for him. etc...the joys of families huh. her claim for £600 a month has already been corrected to £290 which is still over a weeks wages a month but nm huh. we are all alive and happy.

two days in a row no spend days :)

  • msgigglewick I hope she thinks twice now! xx

Nic am glad you have settled in and the kids are happy with their school, how are you feeling about the house now you are settling in?

weve still got yesterday's snow but its melted on the roads thankfully, but still on pavements and houses, gardens etc - we are due more from tomorrow lunchtime right through to overnight, my DS is checking the weather sites every hour! hes clearly hoping school will be shut if we get a load more! its quite funny when you consider the metres of snow they get every year in Canada, Scandinavia etc without all this disruption, but I guess we never know quite what we are going to get so its hard to prepare - 10 days ago is was 12 degrees!
  • Thank you for all the Birthday wishes, I've had a fab time!
Managed to break laptop by pouring tea into it.... so couldn't "work" on Fri! Had lots of snow so best friend and I took the dogs out who loved it. Best friend and I have same birthday but as she lives at other end of country we never get to celebrate together. We had lunch then eldest dd surprised me with trip to London for theatre and dinner. We saw Singin in the Rain which was very good, even if we were in the splash zone!!
The yesterday we were all at my sisters and ordered Chinese. And more cake! So if anyone would like a slice of cake, please pop round Ill out the kettle on!
Have been very spoilt with loads of lovely goodies, don't think Pandora will be in any financial trouble soon as seem to be keeping them afloat single handedly.
We have more snow here today so will go for another dog walk through Ashdown Forest followed by hot chocolate. I'm sorry but I'm one of those annoying people who love the snow......and it looks so Christmasssy, our favourite time.

Glad you are having a fab time Nanamia, what a lovely song for your dgd to sing!
This week am awaiting the arrival of my newest niece either Weds or Thurs.....
Hope to be back on site more regularly now - your posts do make me smile even if I just read and don't always comment x

  • Hello everyone. Hope snow isn't causing any of you trouble, hopefully you're mostly tucked up nice and warm! (Trust you're doing OK on that front Nanamia ;))

Sorry to hear about all the pet problems, it's so upsetting when anything happens, there's the overwhelming worry for them and then often the financial stress too.

Well, pray for me ladies. Today I'm off to shop for flowergirl dresses (Yes, in our no-fuss, laid-back wedding, we've acquired flowergirls!!) so today will be a big test of my patience with regard to OH's family. I'm trying to be all calm and and focus on the positives but if you hear of any shopping centres in the North being sealed off by the police, you'll know that strategy has gone out of the window.

Sorry to hear of your cat and dog problems:( it really does seem to be the season for it.
Caitlyn you poor thing. They really are getting carried away you have such patience!

You will be glad to know that even here I've not forgotten my Christmas mission. I've picked up three large baubles for my Christmas 2013 tree:) and some polystyrene stars for DGD to paint that I can make into decorations when I get home. We've done lots of craft things together but I've not baked with her yet. It's just too too warm to have the oven on. Plan to do it first thing one morning just not managed it yet!
    Thinking of you all xxx
Glad you had a good day Betsie sounds bliss.
I've always fancied having afternoon tea feisty, it's on my wish list but the trouble is I'm such a fuss pot (I bake too so and über critical) xxx

  • oh my nanamia, that looks like heaven! sooo jealous!

Well, after having to pay out sooo much money past few weeks for my training / set-up etc (but it WILL be worth it, and pay for itself within a month - we hope!) i managed to have a good old mse weekend so far:
yesterday was a "family" day (first one since before xmas). We all agreed last night that it was one of our best ever - and we didnt spend a penny thanks to snowmen building/choc slab making/monopoly & scrabble/movie night mini hamper (made from stuff i had in cupboards & the E.T special edition dvd i forgot id put away for xmas eve & only found friday!). It was a wonderful day, and has made dh's departure for yet another week in scotland this morning, a little easier!
this morning i sat & did a couple of v/o surveys, and then was delighted to realise i had enough for a £10 amazon voucher - teamed with the 2 I already claimed but hadnt used - i have managed to purchase a HOT PINK beauty therapist tunic, & some carrier oils & only paid 97p !!!
Hooray! I feel like my old self again now im back to watching the pennies - throwing money around as we have had to do to set me up really isnt my thing, i felt physically sick as i watched dh hand the debit card over on a couple of occassions!!

Apparently we are due more snow today ... im waiting ... not very patiently! :rotfl:
