    HAPPY 40th BIRTHDAY ELJAYCOCK

    :bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake:

    Indeed. Hope you have had a fab one Eljaycock!

    Sorry I haven't been around gang. Been a little focused on my writing. (See sig :D ) well chuffed with my progress there.
    Also trying to sort out something special for my parents 40th Aniversary. Trying to get family together is proving hard, part of them don't have anythin to do with the other and friends have scattered. Not really sure what to do for them that would "touch their hearts" thinking of perhaps a dvd of photos to music or something and getting a couple of days away somewhere.

    On a brighter note, because I approached Christmas 2012 in MSE stylie I am not suffering with "worst day of the year blues." Quite the opposite really. The money that I have saved has paid a MASSIVE chunk off one card. Soo very pleased about that.

    Have to thank you to many people that wander in and out of various threads here who have inspired me to cut corners, invent gifts and plan ahead.
    Heck.. just realised... where I might be financially this time next year...:D

    I haven't started on Christmas just yet other than thinking about what to get who-I'm still trying to off load this years parcels!!!

    Valentines is looming... going to be a tricky find. Clockwork and Top Hats is the theme in this house. :rotfl:

    Yay for the financially viable new year! I've just completed a mad hatter/alice in wonderland paper cut that has top hats a'plenty ;)

    Feisty, I don't want to seem nosey, but do you always check your bank 2 months after the event ?
    When are you going to check Dec ?
    Like you said, it was so long ago, you can't remember what you spent the money on.
    If there was an error, you would never know.

    Sorry if you think this is nosey.

    Not nosy at all :) I scan my eye over it at least once a week to check for errors, but I've never totaled every none essential expense, it was quite the eye opener! I checked October and December, and although a lot of the expenses were for Christmas, I'm still coming out about £200 (at least) being spent on none bill related bits :( It seems to be nipping to the shops for cheer up meals (I'm a comfort eater) and multiple under £3 ebay purchases. I'm really glad I've looked as can now work on cutting that figure right down!

    We had some good news today (first positive thing of 2013!) and I have a long term work booking until April :T With a lot of extra work, we should be able to put at least £2k away for the house deposit :T

    shes just after all the money she can, always been the same, sadly the money doesn' t go on the boys...all walking around in clothes and shoes that don' t fit etc and herself and new bf are alcoholic s so know exactly where the money goes.long story around all that really. her sons are destined to be just like her, we had one of them living with us for 6 months due to his mother making up a story he was threatening them with a knife so instead of him having a police record we bought him here....queue six months of nightmare, he couldn't cope with ' normal' life And doing well at school so he ran away twice . got police and social involved and mental health team who all made the decision he was trying to playmind games withus and we were to allow him to go back tohis mother and her partner who mentally abuse him as it is his choice in theend. the boys choice back then wasto cut all ties with their father, i guess she thinks its her in control. dss is 18 in august, dss2 is 16 now and not in school so not sure what will happen come sept there either. only one who seems to be semi with it atm is dss3 who is 15 this year. im far from the perfect mother but i can see some people have a strange idea when it comes to being a mum.

    Mrs G that's so sad. Sounds like you've done your best to help but must be very frustrating for you. Hope something changes and the boys get a stab at a happy and productive life. :cry:
