  • Valentines day - why don't you just cook something special? Like lobster or nice steak? We don't bother, too commercialised, lol. I rather have little presents from him any other day of the year than something overpriced on valentines day.

I'm the same that I don't buy into the flowers and slushy side of it but since having DD I thought it could be our day for one another as she was born 2 days after our "anniversary" of getting together which used to be our special day. Also we both let our first wedding anniversary pass without much effort as DD was so young which I sometimes feel sad about :p

Am just thinking of a special packed lunch for work, a little gift (maybe a paper cut as I failed at a paper gift for first anniversary :() and a nice supper

Haha maybe I'll just get them for DH for v.day - might help me tempt him in to TTC earlier than April ;) (sorry, lowering the tone too)

  • Waiting patiently for the snow. I know some people hate it and it disrupts travel etc (we really should be able to cope by now) BUT I love it!!
    No sign yet ....

Had bad day yesterday .... Whole mug of tea in the lap top - apparently they dont like it. Now drying it out with fingers crossed. I work from home and everything for the Office is on it. It is auto backed up, I hope. But I've never tried to re load it. Am just hoping it will work when it's all out back together. Washing machine on the blink, fridge went just before Christmas and then to top it all my dog and her best friend squabbled over a ball and I tried to intervene and got in the way of teeth. Not a real bite, more of a scrape but its sore.
I popped into our local Boots tonight but there was nothing left. I did get quite a bit after Christmas so it was only really for top ups.
Has anyone been into HMV to see if they have any bargains? Such a shame that so many stores seem to be in trouble. Soon here will be very little on our High Streets.

  • Morning all.
Popped into Boots yesterday after work-completely empty shelves! Overheard the staff saying how they couldn't get the stock out fast enough, any time there was a space they would try and fill it, only to turn around and find that gone.

Popped into claires and got some 1direction stuff for my niece. All sale stuff is bogof.

Well it appears that at one point last night the snow did settle, now however it is sleeting so we have lovely sludge everywhere :(

Am a little disappointed as now have to go out visiting (was hoping could use the snow as an excuse and get some work done). Have 2 jewelry orders to fill and will attempt some more stock for the shop - am waiting on a builders lamp so I can start photographing in all weathers - it's very hit and miss trying to do it inside with natural light :(

I am considering making a tote bag out of fabric scraps - I had planned on a customized one for my MIL for last Christmas, the ones I got sent were made out of a plastic/fabric alloy and melted when I tried to put the heat transfer on :( I do own a sewing machine, but will admit to being far from expert (although I did manage a circle skirt last Summer).

  • Good morning everyone :)

Happy Birthday Betsie2010 :bdaycake: Hope you have a lovely day!

No more snow here yet. Have to take dd to work at 11.45am, so keeping my eye on it.

My main task for the day is to clear the ironing basket. Not really a lot there, but because of dodgy back, I can only do it in short bursts, so it takes longer than it should IYSWIM!

Have a good day lovelies, enjoy the snow if you like it, and try to stay inside if you don't!

    Take care all xxx

May I ask about your paper cutter please? Is it a machine where you design an image on the computer? I ask as I design bespoke wedding stationery and am wondering whether its something I co uld incorporate - can you cut through thick paper or card with it at all?
