I have decided that even though it is a bargain at £3.50, I really don't need it - plus I would have to put it on DH side of the bed, which really wouldn't go down well
But thank you so much for your kind offer!
Cookie (the dog) is finally home. It didn't go as straightforward as her last op and sadly the fee increased to almost £400We have also been warned that her next operation will need to be done by a specialist - starting price of £3k per leg
Can anyone recommend a decent pet insurance that will cover pre-existing conditions?
not sure my OH would appreciate a purple alarm clock on his side of the bed either!
I am so sorry to hear about your dog and also about the cost:( hope she recovers quickly from the opsaving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

OMO had a nosey at the Boots thread too! its not cheap to buy in the sale, its good money management! I also go with people in mind, I also take the 'before sale' price as the value of the gift, and I agree that it is the thought behind a gift that is important, not the cost -Id genuinely be touched by somebody buying me a £1 chocolate bar that they know I love, than somebody spending a lot of money on something that is generic, not 'me' and no thought behind it, but it doesnt matter if it's in the sale - after all, they don't know when you bought it do they??
MsGigglewick, what happened to your DD3? how awful she was attacked, I hope shes ok. I really sympathise about your mother - Ive been feeling a bit sad today as my mother didnt reply to my Happy Christmas text Christmas morning, nor my 'thank you for our lovely gifts' text in the afternoon, no reply on NYE or NYD to my texts either - she wasnt at home so I had to text, Ive heard nothing. I made her up a lovely stocking and also a lovely gift but never heard a word, I know shes ok as I asked my sister if she had heard from her and she had spoken with her. She never seems to answer her home phone (think its her hearing myself) and whenever I finally get hold of her she argues that I couldnt have rung when I claim I tried as she was in - she claims never to receive my texts whereas I think she leaves her phone in a drawer for weeks with a flat battery! I offered to buy her an answer machine but she wont have one, I feel like she doesnt really care about us and it makes me feel sad sometimes - she even gave me back the birthday present I bought her, in my stocking! clearly forgot it was me who gave her it, at least I hope so!I dont know why she is like that, my OH says shes the least emotional woman hes ever met ... I sort of think 'cold'
But heyhoeveryone else was so pleased with their gifts at Christmas, I must say I wouldnt care if somebody gave me a £10 gift that they had bought for £2.50 in the Boots sale, Id be pleased with the gift, not how much they spent - I'd high 5 them for being savvy!
xx
Body Shop givng up to an extra 30% off sale prices, it says 'today' on the email but think it may be all week - use code ENDING at checkout, I got 10 shower gels at 1.40 and a couple of lovely bags for life at 88p each, free delivery on £15 or over as well - we all use the BS shower and bath gels and get through so many, so I always try and stock us up in the Jan sale, I think £1.40 is the cheapest Ive ever got!0 -
wow PinknFluffy !!! how catastrophically rude are some people???! there is a recession on, food and fuel and petrol costs are rising and wages are not, do some people think money grows on trees? to actually have the nerve to say a home made gift is a 'cheap' gift is breathtaking, I can't beleive people are so rude as to say such a hideous thing! Gifts should be about the thought that has gone into them, making or sourcing something that people will enjoy, thats the spirit of a gift, not 'why didnt they spend x pounds'?? am gobsmacked! whoever they are they clearly do not deserve such a thoughtful, caring and kind person as you to make them a gift! *hugs* xxx0

ps, anyone looking at the HK alarm, in our store they had about 12 of them, the ones at the front had all had their battery covers taken off, am not sure if there are batteries in them and somebody opened them to take them, but anyway I got my 2 from the back and warned others looking at them, as getting them home and finding they have no cover on the battery compartment might make it hard to keep the batteries in!
they are very pretty, I had my eye on them full price as I know my DD will love one and I also got one for one of my neices, as they are a Liberty print as well they will also suit older kids as they have quite a retro look, I want one!0 -
Feisty I use Pet Plan, am not totally sure about pre existing conditions, may be worth asking them? I know ours is a for life cover so if they develop something ongoing they will be covered year after year and not have it excluded the next renewal year (thought I would think premium may go up if they did!)0

It doesn't matter about how much a gift cost its that someone took the time to think about what the person would enjoy. For Christmas I had 4 sherbet fountains which I know cost around £1 and a bottle of perfume which cost £30-£40. I can honestly say I was over the moon with the sherbet, and a bit disappointed with the perfume (even though the perfume was my favourite), the reason I was disappointed was because the person who bought it really couldn't afford to spend that amount.0

snugglebunny she was going down to her friends house after school, about 15 or so houses away so practically outside. in her words everything went quiet and she was grabbed from behind by a man, she dropped her scooter screamed get off and wiggled, luckily he lost grip but punched her in the stomach before running off...police haven't found him but got dna from her clothes. so proud that she put up a fight it could have been such a different story (she was on just 10, was a couple of days after her bday)
she still gets nervous when its quiet out and she wants to go out to play. not a bad thing but not something a child should have to think about...
feisty our pet insurance runs along side our house content insurance with the nfu....not sure about pre- existing conditions but a firm like that should cover it id imagineTotally debt free wohooo 2014

Hi everyone,
I've been a lurker for a long time but have decided to join the thread.
I must admit I've tried to order a few bits from the Boots sale but their website is just so incredibly rubbish that I gave up.
I think home made gifts are (most of the time) much better than shop bought ones and I prefer them as the person has actually thought about me, what I would like rather than just picking up something from the shelves. Saying that some people don't appreciate home made gifts at all, so I don't bother with those & they get something from a shop. Luckily most of our friends, neighbours like my home made stuff so I carry on with them
Feisty - I'm in Poole too!! Our Woof is insured with Tesco, but I'm not sure what they're like with pre existing conditions. Poor you and your doggy, it's awful when they are poorlyhope things work out for you.
