    Xmas Saver!
Have received an email to say these glasses and some cake forks I ordered are 'unable to be fulfilled'. :(

    Good Luck xx

Just had a look at the thread. One lady ordered 40 items only to have them all unfulfilled. And apparently they are still on the web site as showing stock.
  • Think boots lady is being ott.

Been a bit busy sorting finances out. I have given up now for a while. It is not doing me any good.
The thing is, they are not that bad. I have no debt and some savings. I can afford all the bills, but I am still getting in a state about it.
I keep doing the same sums and looking at what I could safe on, but there is nothing.

I am saving Morrisons stamps, doing Nectar Adpoints and putting £5 a week away for Christmas.
I also save all my £2 and 20p for our Holiday.

I started a thread about it today on the old style money saving board. It is going to be merged with this thread later. I don't want to go about it on here, and be a complete misery guts.

Hopefully they will have some tips for me on there. I don't normally get this down. I usually like January. Hopefully this is a passing blip and I will be back to myself soon.[/QUOTE]

I know how you feel. I've been putting off doing our accounts but need to see where we can save. The only thing we seem too extravagant on is food so trying to plan meals better. I to save 1p, 2p, 5p 10p and 20p's in a jar gor holiday treats.
I also save £6 a week. I go weightwatchers but because i help out i don't have to pay so that goes in a sealed pot. Supposedly for me to buy clothes when i lose weigyt. Mind you not very good at following plan so its getting full :rotfl::rotfl:
Will take a look at the thread you've put on. Mind you have trouble keeping up with this one!

Nana, so glad you have arrived safely - very envious ;)

OMO - I think January is the time for these feelings, once I got organised and had a plan, then I felt a lot better :) Am I being dense, what is the boots sale? Mine currently has 50% off, are they reducing further on Wednesday?

Moneysavingmumofone That sucks :( But I am loving the substitute pressie, the box is gorgeous!

  • Oh deary me, I've been on a spending spree. I've had my money returned from the hamper company and a fifty pound qu!dco Christmas bonus. Both lots of money was unexpected so I decided to buy lots and lots of craft items that I have only wished for. I was thinking if I am going to be home with the bad weather and my DS I might as well enjoy myself. I've bought a sizzix and attachments, a cheap knitting machine to use up all the spare wool around the house and allots of little craft bits that DS can be amused with. I am going to clear out my old desk today and I use it for crafting as my lovely drawer unit is full!!! I really do feel like a kid in a sweet shop today, who'd of thought I'd be excited over buttons and bows.

I too would be in heaven! Details on the knitting machine pretty please?

Have just popped over to the 75% boots sale thread. Was a bit upset when people started saying that all boots gifts are tat, no one wants them etc :( A lot of my pressies for the year have come from Boots as I needed a super MSE way to buy. Now I am doubting them, and am majorly worrying that the recipients are going to think them tat :(

    Don't worry.

I think as long as you buy the gifts for actual people you should be fine.

I must admit I don't get much in the Boots sale, but the bits I have bought have been purchased with people in mind.
Ds always like to get Lynx sets (which look the same every year) and dd loves Mango, so she always get the Mango gift set.

I aslo got dd and ddil the Sanctuary sets (£10 each down from £40)

The problem begins when you buy just because it is cheap and looks nice. You then get to Christmas with 2 lists(one of recipients and one of gifts.) which you have to match.

I do most of my present shopping in the sales, but I do take a list of names with me, as if it was Dec.

Thank you nic and moneysavingmumofone :D I can confirm that the first new Holly and the Ivy baby of 2013 is cautiously expected, ETA mid-September.

SO glad you arrived safe Nanamia and that your DGD loves her hamper. Enjoy the sun!
