Yay MrsInvisible! I do hope you have a lovely time :) and if we don't see you before, then have a very Merry Christmas!

Nana, don't make me come round and kidnap you! You must relax more!

Well the end would have been in sight, but sadly I am relying on other people to come and pick up their bits etc and they are being nightmares. I personally find it so frustrating, when you are affected by other people's restrictions >.< I have agreed to let 1.1k worth of stock go for £240 on the proviso that the buyer collects all 19 boxes (and her mountain of furniture) - she has now gone silent (despite knowing we need to be out by today) I know she will get the furniture as she has already sold most to her own customers, but she doesn't seem to want to eat into her profit margins by £20 to hire a delivery man >.<

I am more annoyed because I explained to her back on Wednesday that I have a smart car and if she was buying more than a few things then delivery wasn't possible. I also said that due to the 30 minute drive from the shop, there would be a fee for petrol (which she wasn't happy with) if she needed me to bring over a few things.

    Morning all ,
Ive been out for a very quick shopping trip already , i had a lovely look around B & M they were open at 8am , i didn't get much but it was nice and quiet, picked the dog a new bed up at Argos again they are open from 8am and were very quiet.

Ive got a sinking feeling about a gift Ive ordered for my OH , its from an Amazon seller who keeps fobbing me off saying its been sent but he is getting more and more feedback from people who haven't received their orders.

Has anyone ordered the name a rose gift before ? i ordered it for dd but they insisted i emailed the name of the rose so it could be personalized i explained that i wanted the recipient to chose the name and now they have canceled my order and are apparently refunding the money:mad:

I'm looking after my two grandsons (2 and 4) today while their mum goes out shopping/coffee with friends.

Looking forward to it and will be making gingerbread men with them as well as a few other activities including making reindeer food apparently (mum's got the ingredients).

They are all off to Chamonix for Christmas so I am making the most of seeing them before they go. We will all be getting together for a meal on the 29th.

Got the last of my presents ordered/delivered today so that's it, no more shopping till at least February for me. Freezer filled courtesy of Donald Russell and Waitrose so looking forward to lots of eating.
  • sounds like every one is having a busy day today!
I have to cook my squash jalouise for Christmas dinner tonight, so far so good, I did the filling last night while drinking cocktails... and the base has just come out the oven, going to write cards, have a bath then come back and finish it. :)
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend

  • We are officially out of the shop, but it has ended on such a sour note that I feel physically sick.

A local seller came to my rescue (or I thought she did) and offered to sell items on her page with added commission. Seeing as we were surrounded by furniture, and with no hope of shifting it, I eagerly agreed. She is a hobbyist, and even before we bought the shop I couldn't figure out how she made cost on items she sold, let alone a profit. Well all was going really well until yesterday.

She needed to arrange collection, as she had about 10 items of furniture, and there was no way a standard car to fit it. I passed on the details of our delivery man, who would charge less than £25, but she wasn't keen.

The prices we sold to her for, were less than what we would have got for trade, but she was buying so much I over-looked it.

With all the delivery hassles DH told me this morning to cancel and just donate it all to charity (the 10 pieces came to £180) because she had technically 'sold' it to her customers, I didn't want her and her business looking bad, so I persevered.

Well alarm bells should have rung when she promised someone would be coming with a big lorry to pick up a dresser that she managed to sell last minute for £200 (£180 to us) and she would be bank transferring us her money, and they would pay cash for the dresser.

Well she got her items and then I got a message telling me she wasn't happy with the quality of the items as she would have to re-paint most (admittedly a FEW pieces had some knocks during moving, but that was reflected in the £10 for solid wood coffee tables and vintage queen anne furniture that she was paying) she then told me I could either collect it all at our cost (from recent conversations she knew we had no way of collecting or storing) or she would pay £100 for it.

Although annoying, I'm not too upset about the money, but the thought of her telling people that we ripped her off. I am so worried and upset, that I feel sick and just want to cry. I am a push over, and hate people to think badly of me.

Sorry for the rant, but DH is sick of hearing it :(

Aww hugs Fiesty, she is at it. I would tell her you will be around in an hour with a van and see what she says.
She is the one who has ripped you off :(

I got the kids lovely fluffy jammies from Primark. Try are so cosy. They were only £5 so cheaper than Tesco etc. I will put them in their Xmas eve hamper with popcorn, a new Christmas book, some Christmas crafts etc. I usually get them a new DVD to watch, but they have most of them or they have been on TV. We will have plenty to watch. X

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Photogenic I've been Money Tipped!
I have just sat for 4 hours on the livingroom floor wrapping DDs gifts. I've now got a chill in my back and wobbly legs but they're done! I may have to buy a couple more choc things for her stocking but I can't tell until I actually have the stocking and both seem to have gone missing. I'm wondering if she might have picked hers up thinking it was my one as they're identical.

Oh well, at least there is only the family gifts left to go, and most of them are really easy to wrap for a change :rotfl::rotfl: That'll keep us busy tomorrow once we've decorated the tree. :o
