I'm heading to b&q this evening after visiting dad. Want to see if they have any inexpensive Christmas trees as I want to buy one for mum's. She's decided it's not worth the hassle of decking up (and the decs are store out of her reach anyway) so thought I'd pick up a little potted tree, add a few cheap baubles and at least she has a tree to put the gifts "under" :)

  • I didn't hear about the Apollo collapse until my drive to work this morning. Those poor familiesm and two still in hospital, shocking. I know that sometimes things like this cant be forseen, but I am surprised it wasn't picked up at inspections etc :(

The girlies at work threw me a surprise pig out lunch for my belated birthday, I honestly didn't expect it and was so touched!

Feeling rather lazy, so figure I will push myself to finish up wrapping the last 10 or so items, and then sprawl on the sofa with a glass or two of Malibu ;) well it is Christmas after all lol

That sounds like a lovely idea His misses, x

Managed to get the rest of my little bits, apart from Jammies. My m&s isn't very big, so they didnt have the sizes I needed. Am off to a different town with Primark.
Not see who suggested it, but I mentioned to my kids that I'd give them £2 each to go to poundland to get a gift each for me and their dad, they can't wait. Will let them have free reign lol.

Tonight my OH is out, so ill be mainly having a glass of red wine, some salt n vinegar popcorn and watching cheesy Christmas movies, :D

thanks to all for your happy messages. dd has been round today and been to a carol concert with me for my son. then she came back to mine and i think ive found the key to this!!! we made pom pom animals and kept busy. we had this to focus on and this helped. its the first time in ages i havenet roared when she left.so my plan for christmas day is to do board games and the like to keep us all busy. it gives less talking time and makes my brain work and not over think things. i know this doesnt help the problem deep down but ive been so tearful and depressed that if we can meet and me and my boy feel ok when shes left then thats a massive plus for us. my husband sent her a message ( unbeknown to me) saying he loves her and hes missed her and so pleased shes coming christmas day and she responded in the same way so that was very very nice.

I got VERY frustrated in M&S and some card shops today, I have one grandparent on either side remaining, there are loads of cards to both grandparents, loads to Grandma/Nan/Nanny cards, None to just grandad in M&S the most I found anywhere were choice of 3 in Clintons... hundreds of the others but just 3... one ruled out because it said "grandpa" , another because it had a whole essay in it, my Grandad had a stroke last Christmas it would take him weeks to read it lol. So I had to have one with a dog teddy eating mincepies :/ bit more childish than I would like but the only option left ...very annoying...
I usually make my own, and I will definitely be going back to that!

I may of accidentally bought a sheet of wrapping paper which was nearly £2 and can never be used to wrap anything, but it has the cutest deer on it! I couldn't resist...

My mum has also given me loads more wrapping to do :/ all the awkward shaped things as usual... but I love wrapping!!
