Hello, I've been reading and lurking. I finally got my last orders posted yesterday, I was the me cartwheeling out the PO, I just hope they arrive safely.

I am almost finished my shopping, just a little extra for my sisters and my dad to get. I plan to go to B&M for the kids Xmas eve jammies, and Asda for new socks for their stockings, then they are done too. My littlest is 2 and a half, she has shown no interest in potty training, so hoping to get her nice pants for Xmas and start in the new year.

We are down to 11 for Christmas Day dinner. We were going to have it at my Dads, but I asked to change it back to here. I had been so stressed with orders that I couldn't face it. But once they were finished I felt all festive again.

I mentioned before our new Tesco doing £1 scan vouchers every week in Dec. some scanned at £5 so we have £72 from this week plus the £5 off the turkey voucher to use. So the food will be a lot cheaper than planned, just means I need to get it all in my smaller Tesco, but it's well stocked. But I had hoped to get a lot in Aldi. We had over £50 in the vouchers each week in Dec, so we filled the freezer with meat, buffet nibbles and filled the store cupboard and loo roll stocks. Plus some wine :-)
I may be on here on Xmas eve in a panic in all the prep. We are havnt a turkey breast joint that serves 6-8 and a huge gammon, would you cook the gammon in Xmas eve and the turkey on Christmas morning? I would have cooked a whole bird the day before, but the breast doesn't take too long.

I sat yesterday afternoon with a cup of gingerbread latte and watched the sewing bee Christmas special. The kids were playing nicely upstairs. It was the first time I felt truly relaxed, happy and festive.

Off to read back a bit xx

So tonight, for the first time this year, I will actually go to the shops to buy a christmas present.

Late night shopping to pick up a last gift & a voucher for my neice from boots (painless) & have a mooch around the M&S sale.

I expect it to be mentals but as I don't actually have to buy anything anywhere can anjoy browsong rather than panic buying :D
I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

  • Arthien - it is a beautiful church isn't it it's in Great Witley, people come from literally all over the world to see it I was reading the vistors book, china, spain, italy, and I was Christened there! lol.

Ruth_honey - Worcester is lovely for a spot of Christmas shopping anyway, and there are usually a couple extra stalls up the high street in the lead up to Christmas, hot pork rolls, and someone selling wreaths and that sort of thing. There is also a Christmas tree festival thing on at the Cathedral I've not been before but I'm hoping to pop in on Friday have a look it's free to get in but they ask for donations which go to Riverside Children's Ward at Worcester Royal Hospital, the Teenage Cancer Trust and Worcester Cathedral this year. They have trees decorated by schools and groups, they pick a winner at the end but it just looks so Christmassy! http://www.daisychainbenevolentfund.co.uk/Pages/ChristmasTreeFestival2012.aspx

pigpen tonsillitis is the most horrible of illnesses. As the owner of inhumanely giant tonsils when healthy and recurrent tonsillitis I used to find toast (well toasted) cleared the blocked feeling..also what they give you after having them removed apparently so must be something to it..., and remember lots of fluids!
Also the spray throat stuff you can get from pharmacy works wonders! I used to be given it on prescription but you can buy it without now... that stuff >>> Ultra Chloraseptic Anaesthetic Throat Spray
junior_j - Sorry to of been the barer of bad news :(, but hopefully the antibiotics do their job :) ^^ that spray stuff might help you too :D

Hope all not feeling great are feeling better soon, and that the Christmassy feeling works its way into everyone.
I'm feeling a bit meh today, date last night which didn't quite go the best so I'm treating myself to an indulgent day today, pizza for lunch and dinner (same pizza... half for each not 2 I don't think I could eat 2 pizzas in one day lol) , lighting a fire and getting my decopatch out while burning my Christmas tree candle again :D

pixtotts, that church is beautiful! I'll definitely have to pay it a visit sometime. My DH and I were looking at buying a house on that side of the river, but since his work moved from Hallow and I work in Redditch, it's just not practical. But hopefully one day :o

Did anyone else have any better luck than me with the Seek Santa comp? I found a couple of them but I was definitely not the first to find them. Lots of people are complaining that they couldn't see the images even though they'd been on the pages before the winners posted. Ah well, it was a bit of festive fun I suppose! Even if I was supposed to be working at the time...

    Hi all,

Babyboo, that's for the thoughts - yes, I do have my small family and some very close friends supoorting me though it all and Hubby is being a star esp as a taxi driver for mum. Today they should decide what kind of drip they're going to attach to dad. If it's a "portable" one, hopefully he can home at the weekend.

Went out with one of my best friend's last night for our xmas get together whilst Hubby wrapped up his pressies to me.

Tonight he's out so I'm going to have a right good clean up so I don't have to do it at the weekend.

I've been using that on my tongue as well as my throat lol.. washed down with strepsils because I am too lazy to do the walk to Boots to get their own brand tyrozet type things which are fantastic.

I can't eat toast at all.. I'm eating rice or pasta or nothing at all.. though I have had a couple of ice lollies late on a night more for the fluid than anything else.

My sister just brought round a bunch of presents and my daughter took a couple of cards home with her.

She is just taking the application in for the house which will secure it .. apparently the agents only take 1 application per house at a time so as soon as theirs is in it is closed to further applications until theirs is processed.. They take 10 days to process but closed for a week so will take nearer 3 weeks unfortunately but their fees are half price for December which is good and they get a hamper when they move in which is really nice too.

It needs a bits of decorating doing which might end up as my job :p and a good clean including carpets so I might hire a rug doctor thing for a weekend and do all mine and theirs in one go. Apparently it has a big range cooker and the washing machine staying and needs a bit of fence at the end of the back garden where it backs on to the railway lines which is no issue at all. Everything crossed the credit check comes back ok!
