  • Morning, Skypeday yippee. The weather has improved, gales have calmed, the garden is destroyed, bits of tree (big bits) and fence all over, planters and chairs tipped up, will have to remedy as much as possible then get Nev-fixit here
Mrs MP are you now the master shed roof felters apprentice now?.
Pigpen, I heard a whisper your dd might be moved in by Christmas? that would be lovely.Get him the dressing gown, you have prompted me to get DGS1 one, as l got the other 2 them.
Mandco, a Christmas SOS box, what a brainwave idea, I am going to copy it, save all the stressing at present opening!
Pink Lady, I get my Christmas spirit from the supermarket, £? per litre! seriously, tho, be kind to yourself, cooking for that size battalion entitles you to scream and cry all you want.
Choccymoose, l hope you all enjoyed polar express, what a super way to bring in Christmas.
Nanamia, I too wish we lived closer, we'd be 'awesome'. I hope you have a great time at the panto, look closely for me, I'm usually the back end of the cow!
B-e-g glad you enjoyed your day yesterday, have an easy afternoon today.
Hmm, I bought a K*ndle fire and I can't use it, it is much more difficult than the old one, but as this one does everything and makes the tea it should be good once l have lessons in its use. And I got a lovely purple leather cover for it in poundland, a bit expensive, Iknow, but it is Christmas.
Got all yesterdays jobs done, and I have crossed a load off todays list too. (I haven't done them, just crossed them off) this weeks tasks are 1) finish delivering local cards. 2) collect all vouchers together and make a list of foods needed to make best use of said vouchers 3) get car washed. 4) tidy garden up.
  • Well guys we had an amazing time on the Polar Express, made even better as we were upgraded to premier class and so received limited edition hot chocolate mugs, which I have to say are lovely.

We arrived to carols and lights, lovely reasonably priced food cooking and all children in pjs or onsies and most adults too, including us ( I had my cookie monster onsie on but more of that later) lots of photo taking followed in front of the carraiges emblazoned with the Livery of the Polar Express.
Then a whistle blew and the conducter appeared and our adventure really started. Our carraige host was chef Melon and she was fab, there were only 8 rows of people in our carraige. There was singing and dancing as we got underway she had all the kids up, being a train going up and down the aisles. Then it was hot chocolate time accompanied by the singing chefs and cookies. Story time until we got to the north pole. Then the entertainment really started, elves stealing tickets, hobo invisible to the chefs and now 3 chefs in the carraige entertaining us with singing, dancing and chatting to the families. Here is where I got picked on, one chef asked chef melon why she had let a cookie monster on board and now she knew who had been stealing the cookies and it wasn't the elves. Well that started all the kids off and it went on for about 10 minutes with the kids being egged on by the chefs. It ended that I had eaten Santa and rudolph to as my Christmas hat had antlers. Such memories were made.
Then the man himself put in an appearance, he was great too. Obviously more than one on board because of how long he was spending with each child. More singing and dancing then the tickets were punched with initials and we drew back into the station after an hr and 45 minutes of pure magical memories. I would highly recommend it.

I will add some pics in a mo Merry Christmas :xmassign::snow_laug:snow_grin:santa2::rudolf::xmastree::xmassmile

Thank you all for my birthday wishes, I was spoilt and had an amazing day :) I have to go to the shop in a bit for a viewing for a lady interested in buying. I'm not holding my breath, as she sounds more like she just wanted to be nosey, but you never know!

    Chin up :D

I have put all my phones on silent. I have had 32 calls from my !!!!!! mother today. The message on the machines is the sound of her pushing buttons on her other phone.since I got home as one has stopped the other has rung.
She has also been ringing dd. She just texted her 'Why ?' . So know dd is upset. I have told her to turn off her phone. If I need her I will ring her friend.

I am hoping she will black out soon and they will stop. Let's hope she doesn't get brave and walk here. 1. I don't think she would make it. 2. If she did she would regret it.

Am trying to work out when to go food shopping next week. It's date verses packed shops. I only need a normal shop really as I have most of my Christmas bits. And I am not going over the next weekend of the week of Christmas.
Catching up and just came to this post, someone may have suggested this but can't you block the number going to you daughters phone? Even if you turn it off she will be able to leave messages which will be upsetting, if you block it then she can't get to her xx

No.. I have had a refund of delivery costs now though :p £5.95 back in my account.. lol.. it is at the Northampton depot apparently and *should* be here by Wednesday.. if not I am to ring and yell.. Hopefully it will be here by then.. or my voice will be back sufficiently that I can yell!! .. One or the other back would be good, though both would be better!

I have added the dressing gown to my list. I have a cute little blue alien one for Fabian and a Gruffalo one for Samuel.. Off to find a minion one for Jacob then...

I have everything bar OH's and a few for extended family wrapped.. and I appear to have misplaced a tassimo.. Goodness knows how! I am so useless!!

  • I've decided it's not wisdom teeth - think it might be some kind of sinus infection or something. Very sniffly and my voice and throat are a bit weird. Oh well. The trouble is if it is something like that I'm not registered with a GP and they're a pain to try and get your name put on their books... You have to go in, fill out a tonne of forms in front of the receptionist, then wait for them to put you on the system (takes about an hour all in all) and THEN you can book an appointment, but not on the same day, and not right there, you have to ring before 8am to get one on the same day and if you don't ring in time you just have to keep trying. My boss is flexible but understandably not that flexible. Oh, and they're only open Monday to Friday, 8 to 4.

Off to my Nans today, it's the tenth anniversary of my Grandad's death this coming week (or possibly last week - is it bad that I only remember he died on a Wednesday just before Christmas? I think it was the 10th actually).

On a more positive note I now have my 2014 diary for my filofax and I have my secret santa present all wrapped up and ready to take in tomorrow :)

    To do this week:
    - Make BFs birthday cake (Wednesday evening)
    - Finish wrapping his presents when they arrive
    - Finish my sister and brother in laws wedding scrapbook... which was meant to be a wedding present back in July... and still isn't finished.
    - Make mince pies if the mince meat is ok

Another busy week, christmas lunch tomorrow at work, then some last minute shopping Monday/Tuesday night with my mum, Wednesday baking for BFs birthday, Thursday it's his birthday so we'll go out after work, Friday will be quiet ;) and then Saturday I'm off to my cousins impromptu wedding! Exciting. Then it's Christmas week!

Happy Belated birthday Feisty and Picnmix :) hope you both had lovely days.

The Polar Express looks amazing :D

is it sad that I have just seen an advert for royal mail saying when the last day for second post is and I have already posted my cards. This is the first year ever and normally I post send class after the first class date:eek: I don't post much on here but all your Christmas preparations are definately rubbing off on me!

choccymoose the polar express looks fantastic:j

nanamia/freespirit hope you both have a fab week end

kiss me now hope you feel better soon

feisty fingers crossed for a sale

I have been baking this morning, making cakes and biscuits using almond flour. They might be good for you but wow they use alot of eggs - will have to go and buy some more later. I have tasted the chocolate cupcakes, they will take a bit of getting used to as they are more bitter and the texture is different but I will get used to them! My next mission is to find almond milk so I can have hot chocolate - and I have heard that sainsbugs do sugar free marshmallow:j

OMO was there a link to a list of things to buy for Xmas day dinner? I'm sure I seen you posting one. I can't see it in the first few pages of the thread.
I'm doing a shopping list, my sister is coming with me next week to make a start. I did buy the gammon today.
    It's the little things I'm worried I forget. X

that has made wonderful wonderful memories. better than any present that those kids could have. i was reading the descriptions and wondering if you would put photos on. my boy is 9 and he would have loved that.
brilliant. so pleased you enjoyed it.
ive been watching jamies family christmas all day and i just want to bake now. ive had mincemeat cakes and a glass of baileys ( just a mini one) and im really enjoying my morning. is it wrong to feel happy when i have all this going on with my daughter? the happier i am the happier my boy feels as i suppose he feels more secure.
lamb hotpot in the oven today no roast as hubby working til about 3 so i said that would be easier to do. although i cook for a living we always do the roast together! there is something lovely about having hotpot in a bowl with just a fork and eating it on the sofa. i think were going to watch polar express..due to the lady above!!
