My vote for this week would be holidays mon / tue and then just level 1 with a declutter mission for wed to fri, and a link to previous week so any newcomers can have a browse and see what it covers.

All I've done since about 4 is feed the tots, play with happyl@nd stuff (fire rescue, lol), wash tots and get ready for bed, and I've started my new cross stitch sat in bed whilst DS watches "jingle all the way". DD fell asleep so I've lifted her into her own bed.

Film nearly finished, so will send DS off to bed and go make a cuppa. Might spend 5 mins picking up and putting away.

Tomorrow we will nip up to town. There is a card factory and I also want some decorations for hm birthday cards. Might go in the market for some braising steak. Inlaws coming for nye so might make stew and dumplings. Hopefully this wind will calm tomorrow. DD nearly blew away when we came out of church this morning...

Dusty, I would say go with Monday and Tuesday as holidays, and then normal ones Wednesday through till Friday :D

You could always do what I have been doing and looking over really old posts, and I mean old - 2007 etc, to see how they have been done. Just type in weekly flylday December or January and it will bring up "old" ones :D

Blimey Bossy if the newbies have a link to this thread next week it will scare them all off....I got a bit carried away..lol

Oh happy days. I remember reading the thread a few months later when I was in Cape Cod. TNG was fun too. Shame I didn't stick to the pilates, not sure where the mat even is now :o

  • Hi, back again as cat only got off me 20 mins ago! I was desperate to spend a penny, so I think my shuffling about got to him! (He then did the same!). Since then I've made another cuppa that we are now having with some savoury nibbles - to keep us going until our meal tonight (got a lamb casserole in the SC).

Today I emptied DW, hoovered through most of bungalow, S&S kitchen and bathroom, dusted through and made bed etc, all while OH walked next door's dogs. He then finished hoovering, then put away the rest of the Christmas decs and most of his gifts - I then ironed and put away my things whilst he prepared a quick lunch.

I was determined to wash conservatory and kitchen floors before I chilled out, then had only been sat down a short while with my laptop on my lap when the cat sat on me and half the laptop - and that was my previous post finished!!!

I'm pleased with what we've done and I've also prepared topical stuff for work tomorrow, which I'm pleased about! It doesn't take much, does it!?

All good wishes to everyone, especially all those flyladies that have lost a loved one - Bossymoo, special thoughts coming your way and many condolences too.

I can't believe it's nearly the end of this year - here are more good wishes and vibes for a sparkly good year ahead for all the lovely people here. Skintbreeder - special wishes for you, too, for the new little one due very soon.

The thread has made lovely reading today. Thanks for all the lovely posts flylady friends.

I think I'm a bit late to vote so will go with whatever is posted.

DH and I escaped the kids and headed to the sales. He exchanged the wrong perfume he got me for christmas and spent more money upgrading it to what I like;). We've had a bad patch recently but I think we've turned the corner now:).

DS3 has an MRI scan on his hip NYD. NHS working on NYD it's unbelievable! I will have to behave myself tomorrow night. I didn't get up until 2pm on NYD last year and felt rather unwell! We have to be at the hospital at 1.30 so I have instructed DH to drag me home from the party after midnight.

I would just like to state My Ironing basket is empty!

See you all on the new thread.

And for those doing the ironing challenge, forget ironing try this

I hate to say this but I have been looking for one of these since I saw Sheldon use one on BBT - I know I am sad. And guess what? Yep I ordered one..lol

I have also been going through the "what customers also bought" and have found several pressies for DH, who is a great Sheldon fan, for his birthday at the end of January. In fact he saw Sheldon wearing the melting rubik cube tshirt on a show this week, and now he wants one :D

hex, aww bless you honey. Now I do the lists alternately I shouldn't go quiet now. Well I will be posting at least once a day..lol One of the reasons I volunteered for the lists was so that it got me more sociable on the lists.. :D

Bossy, hugs honey. As you say now your gran isn't suffering and that's one of the horrible things about illnesses I think - the suffering.
Frodders sorry to hear you have lost your rat, huge hugs to you. Are you getting anymore or are you going to have a rest from them for a while. How about being totally out there and get a cat!!!!
    Nar0lepsy hugs honey xx

Confession - I'm not sure I am going to be able to finish the challenge tomorrow night. I will obviously be doing the ironing tomorrow but not sure if I will get it done as my hands are really cramping up on me at the moment. ME/Fibro flare up - although nothing I can't handle with painkillers..lol

Mrs Chaos - I used some ready roll Puff Pastry yesterday, did a couple of meat & veg and chicken & veg pies, and unusually the pastry was quite thin and sticky. I've used this brand before so was quite surprised. I usually find the secret is to dust the pastry board with a LIGHT dusting of flour before cutting pastry into required sizes and cook it in a hot oven. Not too much orit alters the proportions of fat to flour. Check the pack for recommended cooking temperature, I think I used 190 degrees.

Although the pastry was a bit clumpy on top of the pies, it tasted fine!

I had a bake-in yesterday, and did three of the above, two cauliflower cheeses, a chocolate cake, an almond cake and an egg custard at the end - to make full use of the oven, also, they will reheat quickly when I get back from work this coming week. Also, made some for sick friend for a change for him.

Bossymoo, I LOVE dumplings, but rarely make them as OH doesn't. Can I come to yours for dinner tomorrow if I ask nicely!!

Updated to say I had forgotten about the ironing challenge and although I did the ironing today I found two more of OHs tee-shirts! I'd better get them done in the morning!!!
